I have LOVED author Tawna Fenske’s First Impressions series and her latest release, The Hook Up, is quite possibly my favorite. Two people in very different places in their lives, with very different expectations about home, hearth, love and family find themselves undeniably attracted to one another in this funny, smart, sweet, and sensual story.

To say Tyler Hendrix and Ellie Sanders get off on a usual foot is putting it mildly, and they’d both so totally be snickering about my “get off

WARNING: Do not start this book in public. Maybe especially not while on the elliptical at the gym, where – when you get to the funny bits (and you will get to the funny bits almost immediately) – you will have no control over the wheezy snorting noises that come flying out of the mouth that refuses to cooperate on anything but an enormous goofy grin. I’m just sayin’ – if you look like I do when I’m working out, this sort of reaction may cause people to dial 911 in order to save you when really, ...more

Boy oh boy did I love this book. I have not read a book by this author for a while and I forgot how much I adore her writing. She has a sense of humor that is so wickedly funny that it literally leaves you gasping for breath and you laugh your butt off.

I have not (ashamedly) read the previous 2 books in this series (a fact I will rectify soon) but it was easy to follow along, since they are all stand alone reads.

This book is about Ty and Ellie an

What a giggle out loud story this proved to be right from the start! This is one of those books where you laugh till you have tears streaming down your face - well, I did, anyway! For example, imagine a handsome hunk giving you tips on how to market 'pleasure toys' . . . . whilst he's actually thinking he's giving you tips on how to market bowling balls!! I had to read excerpts out loud to my husband Get ready for some hilarious accidental sexual innuendos, misunderstandings and laug

Have you ever found a book series that captures your attention in the first chapter? Tawna Fenske has done it again. Reading the first chapter, I laughed so much that it was difficult to put this book down.

Each character is relatable and beyond likable. As with all her books, from the first written word, the book is fast-paced and in constant forward motion. She does not waste her readers time with a lot of backstories to catch you up to speed.

I can go on and on why her stories have not disapp

We first encountered Ellie in The Hang Up as Jason's younger sister. Ellie hasn't had an easy time of things especially in her personal life, an ex who left when their son was very little and having to navigate life with a small child suffering from cancer. Ellie is a strong, independent woman taking charge of her life and forging a career for herself selling sex toys ;)

Ty is a new partner in First Impressions, tech guru and online marketing specialist. Miriam, Ellie's sister-in-law and another

This book is over the top fantastic! I really want to meet Tawna because I need to sit with her and see what makes her tick! Her sense of humor is over the top crazy and that made this book absolutely fabulous. Aside from the bowling ball scene, there were many downright crazed moments. What I loved so much was Ellie's comfort with her own body. Ty is trying to set her up with a different kind of mic that involved a bit of clothing rearrangement (another crazy moment) and she's completely at eas ...more

Ty is one smart cookie, “but I just used my only condom to fix your pipe,” he said. “So, unless you have a stash, we might need to call a halt to things for now.” Ty likes to make sure he has Ellie's thoughts made out, “but you think it’s rude to shove me out of the house before I have my pants on, and you’re also not sure about the etiquette involved in hookups.” I really liked this book, I loved Ty.

Had any woman ever made him this dizzy, this crazy with need? Hell, no. It was all her. Only her.

When I read the first book in the First Impressions series, I'd never read a Tawna Fenske book before. I devoured it, then actively began searching out her other titles. Since then, I've read several (and have more on my Kindle), and guys, I swear I love her more and more with each new one I open.

It's simple, really. Ms. Fenske writes the books *I* want to read. Books that are funny—hilariously so—a

**Disclaimer: If you've been reading this series, and you should, then you'll recognize the heroine of this title, Ellie. She is the sister of Jason, the hero of book two, The Hang Up.

For Ellie, a single mom of a little boy, Henry, that's struggled with health issues, she's over the wanting a fairy tale stage, and has firmly planted herself in reality. In fact, she even has a successful business and it brings pleasure to all who try it. Yes, she sells sex toys, but my previous sentence still hol

OMG this was everything! Super sweet, silly, sexy……all the feels! Tawna has a knack for combining sweet & saucy, and oh the dialogue! The hilarious, often sexually laden, banter between Ellie and Ty is ah-mazing! Love that the characters go from strangers, to friends, to much more;) Such great character development, and love how she injects quirkiness throughout her books too! Ellie is such a strong confident lead, while Ty is more of an insecure guy who believes he’s fated to repeat mistake ...more

Loved this book! It started as a fairly predictable romance between two characters that had no interest in a relationship, but ended up hooking up. Then the author added such depth to them with the back story and their current struggles that I just couldn't put the book down.

This novel has it all - lovable, relatable characters, and a great story. It had moments that made me smile and moments that brought a tear to my eye. If you enjoy the genre, snag this book and put it at the top of your TBR

I had to laugh once I started reading THE HOOK UP. Not only because it was funny. Holey-double-entendre Batman, it was funny. But because I felt as if I knew our plucky heroine, Ellie the sex-toy selling single mom. Really. Many, many moons ago, one of my employees was a young, blonde single mom with an adorable little boy. She too had a crummy marriage and an ex who didn’t participate in said kiddo’s life.

And she too hosted ladies pleasure aid parties.

This book was such a fun, light hearted read and sexy to boot. The first chapter when Ty and Ellie meet is hilarious. It hooked me from the start. I absolutely loved these two together. When they weren’t setting the sheets and the couch on fire, they were getting into hilarious situations like the first chapter and their first sort of date. My first read by this author this is a fun single mum romance read. What I loved the most about this book was it funny side, it had me laughing out loud in some of the most peculiar places which ended up with me getting a few funny looks. I loved the lighthearted feel of the book, although it does deal with some series subjects, its mixed in with the humour side of it aswell which gave it that light feeling whilst also dealing with some major things.

I absolutely loved this book! I was smiling almost the whole book. Several parts even had me laughing. The first meeting of Ty & Ellie was just hysterical and really started the book of on a great note. It was a great start to a fabulous book. Even though Ty & Ellie had issues in there past, childhood or divorces, I didn't feel like they brought the story to a sad level. Tawna Fenske never takes herself too seriously and it shines through in her sweetly written, sappy tales of love and spontaneity. Her adorable characters and humorous scenarios are entertaining but they also are relayed from the heart and a person would have to be made of ice not to find the appeal in that. No, romance does not always consist of starry eyes and sad goodbyes but The Hook Up balances the good and the bad into a welcome surprise.

What a wonderful read. I laughed, I teared up a bit...part of the makings of a good book. Ty meets Ellie when she meets with him to get some business advice, prior to using his conference room for a product party. He gets her confused with another customer which leads to some pretty fun laughs as he's talking bowling balls and she's think pleasure aids.

This story flowed nicely. Fenske has you rooting for Ty, no matter what he thinks of himself as a person. You have good character development -

A sweet and sexy romantic comedy, Ty and Elle were a riot together. Their first meeting had me laughing so hard. And that's what set the mood for this story which was sexy and funny.
The single mom aspect was endearing and Ty was wonderful in the way he bonded with her son. It was definitely a light and fun read.

"Maybe something about whether you're a squeezer or a stroker and how that might impact your overall ball handling." Part of the miscommunication when one person is talking about bowling balls and one person is talking about sexual aids. Oops! I do love the way Tawna Fenske tells a tale! Like all of Fenske's book, this one did not disappoint in humor or heat. Who knew fixing a kitchen sink could be sexy? Ty is a marvelous, badass marshmallow of a hero (totally my type, as that's the kind of guy I married) who wants SO BADLY to be a good guy and believes he's not because Reasons. It's wonderful to see him fall for shero Ellie (sister of hero Jason from Book 2 in this series) and her boy Henry--and screw it all up because he doesn't think he's what's best for them. I could not put this book down!! From their first hilarious meeting, I was hooked. I loved these characters so much. Ty was awesome, trying so hard to protect Ellie and Henry. Ellie is a great heroine, strong and sassy yet vulnerable too. And Henry is adorable. The story deals with some serious subjects but there are plenty of laugh out loud moments too. Loved it!!

Ellie seeks out Tyler for marketing ideas. He thinks he is going to help her with Tupperware-like products, but actually she sells Madame Butterfly sexual aids.
This leads to all sorts of confusion and hilarity. Tyler meets Ellie's young son Henry
and they bond over Batman. This story is about the growth and development of these three individuals. I found this to be a humorous and fun book!
I received an ARC in exchange for my unbiased opinion of this book.
