Now I don't know, but I think I would be a bit fearful if I was taken by my father to a huge house (think castle) and left with a beast. A big, furry, scary beast! But not young Beauty. She relished the fancy feast and saw his kindness. Beast fell in love with Beauty because of her happiness and laughter. Then the magical kiss that changed him from Beast to Handsome Prince.

A real fairy tale ending of happy-ever-after. An unrealistic story - but then most fairy tales are. I absolutely love the push, pull, slide, turn features. The books is bright and very sturdy. Silver Dolphin Books and artist Dan Taylor have done a grand job with this little book.

I received a complimentary copy to facilitate this review of my opinions which are freely given.

The story is difficult to explain to a small child in just four pages.

Even though it's short, it manages to capture the essence of Beauty and the Beast quite well. Dallin loves the slides on every page. And when we get to the end and her kiss turns the beast into a prince he always exclaims, "That's magic!"

So much better than the other Beauty and the Beast board book that I read last week. This followed the original much better and the illustrations were delightful and I loved the pull-outs! The story was still a little to shortened though. Just a few more sentences and another page would have worked wonders!

Beauty and the Beast is a tale for all ages. Even the littlest fairy tale lovers deserve a good story! I have a three-year-old niece who is obsessed with books that have lifts and flaps and other things that make them more interactive. We're seeing the new Disney movie together this weekend for my dad's birthday (Poor Pop-Pop!!! Surrounded by girls who want to see this on his birthday...!!! ^.~) and I thought this might make a nice "souvenir" to help her remember the story!!!

Take a peek at how awesome this new board book from Silver Dolphin Books is!

I thought a video could show this book with all its interactive elements off so much better than a review could!

Isn't it fun???

I love that it has learning elements for kids scattered throughout, including a cute seek and find for a wayward fox!

I can't wait to see my niece's reaction to this version of the story!

If there's a little one in your life, this makes a great companion to the upcoming movie!

SERIES REVIEW: These books are brilliant. They are fun and interactive and take the classics we loved as kids and made them accessible for new and young readers. They have found a way to simplify the stories and condensed them to four pages, with simple text and bright, vibrant and beautiful illustrations with tabs that the readers push, pull and slide. I know that every child is going to adore these fun stories brought to life through movement and engagement. I think these are a must for every home library and I assure you that your new and young reader will spend endless hours pushing, pulling and sliding their way to becoming a life long reader! I highly recommend these books to all!

Beauty and the Beast (First Stories). BOARD BOOK. Silver Dolphin, 2016. $9. 978-1626868977

Short simple rhyming text succinctly narrates these fabulous board books based on classic fairy tales. The pull tabs are very sturdy and they also cleverly extend the illustrations off the page. Utterly charming – I can’t wait to start gifting these.

This interactive board book is the perfect way to introduce your toddler to the hottest story in theaters right now, "Beauty and the Beast". In a very simplified format of just eight pages, you can share the story of Belle and the Beast. Each page has a moveable activity such as a slider or a turning disc to change the picture on the page.

Without going into much detail and using a rhyming scheme, a child can begin to experience the fairy tales so many children (and adults) love. Aside from the story and the vibrant illustrations, the child can also look for a fox hiding on the pages. In fact, there are so many adorable animals throughout the pages of this story including peacocks, hedgehogs, bunnies, and birds.

These high-quality board books will be a perfect addition to your home library. The interactive features and fully illustrated pages will keep toddlers busy in the car or during appointments.
