The Redbud Strangler

Rate this book
The quiet town of Redbud, Nebraska, is the home of a reluctant psychic, a reformed “mean old lady,” a retired police chief who knits, the woman who invented “Nebraska Nice,” a pair of young lovers, a pair of old lovers, a tabloid queen without a tabloid, the amazing Bella’s Café, and the just as amazing Redbud Area Dog Rescue. But now it may also be home to a serial killer. Is the killer a stranger who just moved to Nebraska? Or could he be one of their own?

I have really enjoyed Ellen Carlsen's Dog Lady Mystery series, from book #1 I was hooked, and look forward to each book.
I like the way everyone congregates to Bella's Cafe every morning for news that's happening. Nida has turned into a wonderful, caring lady, all the characters are growing. This feels like a community I would like to be a part of. The Redbud strangler wows us!
I love the dogs in these books, also.

I Really Want to Love This Series

It's readable but it could be a lot better. Being an English major and librarian makes me a demanding reader and I stumble easily over bad syntax and information in the wrong order; it really needs a good editor to make a smoothly flowing narrative. I enjoy the characters and, of course, the dogs. So disappointed, it could have been so much better.

Scary!

This novel was one i hated to put down until i had come to its conclusion. The author does an excellent job of tantalizing us with clues and scaring us with details. I sincerely hope there will be more in the series

Light funny

Well written, good characters. I enjoyed the story and waffled between who did it just enough to keep it interesting. Good read.
