In this book, Juan Pablo Pérez introduces the Most Holy Trinity in a simple way that makes the central dogma of the Catholic faith easy to learn by children. As he writes in his introduction, "I hope this book will help many kids understand God better and believe in him with their whole heart."
Introduction 1. The Mystery of the Holy Trinity 2. St. Augustine and the Holy Trinity 3. St. Patrick and the Holy Trinity 4. The Holy Trinity, a Model of Love 5. Some Ways to Explain the Holy Trinity 6. Our Devotion to the Holy Trinity 7. A Quiz on the Holy Trinity
This is very well written for a way to explain the Holy Trinity to children. To be honest though, I had decided to borrow it via Kindle Unlimited right after I finished reading an adult theology book on the Holy Trinity which made this difficult concept even more difficult. (Actually, “finished” isn’t honest —I gave up part of the way through.) So even though I’m not a child, I found this book very helpful. For those of us adults who are “regular” folks who are not seminary students or theology scholars, there needs to be more kinds of books written for adults but which simplify things so that we can understand it in a reasonably satisfactory manner. I’m not embarrassed that I had to resort to reading a book aimed at children, but am just glad I stumbled upon it.
This is a simple and relevant explanation for children. Chapter five, the model of love, though sets it apart from other simplistic attempts at the mystery and makes it my go to for littles and older.
