This is a beautifully illustrated lengthy non-fiction picture book on the Aztecs. Students taking world history in both middle and high school would benefit from this read and it would be a nice addition to any library or classroom.

Heavily biased history. Words like "weird" and "strange" used to describe habits and customs show a European bias that is more sensational than factual and contextual.

This book offered a great visual reference to go along with our history reading. The kids were particularly grossed out and intrigued by the chacmool (where the human hearts were placed after people were sacrificed.) Crazy stuff, and probably not something we'll soon forget.
