A short, but excellent book for mid-graders on up. Quite factual and we'll written. I also liked the graphics.

Young readers are intrigued with tales of the unexplained, especially those involving extraterrestrials, aliens, UFOs, and outer space. McCollum has compiled brief descriptions of famous abductions, UFO sightings, and alien encounters. These are accompanied by mysterious and slightly lurid illustrations and photographs. The author encourages readers to consider if humans are alone in the galaxy. Due to the nature of the topic, while reporting about these cases in theory can be documented, answers to the questions these events raise are speculative.

This volume provides an overview to UFOs, crop circles, and alien encounters and serves as a springboard to further research and discussion. Student researchers will find this text an introduction to the topics covered, but will need to supplement this volume with other sources for a deeper understanding of these phenomenon.
