“When she lost her baby she felt sadness and relief” she felt relief she lost her baby? I’m sorry but that’s a really traumatic event we are talking and the heroine was happy she lost her baby? What a bitch! A child is a blessing not a curse! No thanks I won’t be reading further! 🤬

Lola St. James couldn’t make it in LA, but making it in Hope Springs, Texas, would be a cinch. At least, she could wear cute designer boots while converting the ranch her father left her into a bed and breakfast. What she hadn’t anticipated was running into a bull and then her ex-husband, Jack Canyon. Lola inherited Red Oak Ranch from her father, but what she didn’t know is that he left half of it to Jack. Who now lives there! Jack offers Lola to buy her share, but she

A Review of The Cowboy's Socialite by Carmen Falcone

Lola and Jack, take two - 5 stars

I absolutely LOVED this story. Lola turns out to be a very lovable character, with many insecurities. The characters are very well defined and believable. After a two year separation from her husband, Lola is back in Hope Springs, Texas to make some major changes in her life. There were some really slap stick moments in this book, such as Magnus the bull, but some very serious issues as w

When Lola’s father passed away she inherited Red Oak Ranch so she packs up everything she owns and leaves LA to venture to Texas to open a Bed and Breakfast.

What she didn’t know if that her estranged husband Jack inherited it as well so they are now joint owners. He has his own plans for the ranch and it doesn’t include a B & B but she convinces him with a promise that the divorce will be finalized. Lola wants to prove that can make this a success, even if her father isn’t there

She's high maintenance. He's country strong and cowboy ready. The Cowboy's Socialite is a battle of the sexes that is scorching. One ranch and two owners turns into a reunion that is as love - hate as it is tempting fun. Forced to face an unfinished past these two exes learn some serious truths about themselves and each other as they reignite a passion they both thought had fizzled out. Have the smoke alarms ready because Jack and Lola make this read a fire hazard.

Loved this book! It's a great second chance story filled with snarky banter, secrets, fears, and romance. Jack and Lola may be estranged but the chemistry between the two is still off the charts. If they could both put their egos aside they could have it all. With the Red Oak Ranch on the line these two will have you laughing and swooning as they battle it out.

I highly recommend this one.

Jack likes to make his thoughts known, "he leaned into her, and she shot him a glance as sweet as a caress. “I kind of want you… naked. In my room.” I really liked this book, Jack was sexy he was bull headed and I loved him.

The Cowboy's Socialite by Carmen Falcone was amazing! It's a great second chance romance, that is filled with love, laughter and tons of emotions. The Cowboy's Socialite is a standalone novel, and the first novel I have read from Carmen Falcone, and it did not disappoint, it was so good! The chemistry between the main characters is off the chart, and Falcone has a great ability to create a whole new book world and fill it with characters that pop over the page. I can't wait to see what happens n ...more

Great read from Carmen Falcone a true western romance with lots of cowboys and it isn't only the temperatures that are hot!

When Lola arrives at her recently passed fathers Ranch in Texas the LA socialite is determined she is going to turn make her father proud and turn the Ranch into a successful bed and breakfast, only one thing or should I say person stands in her way and that's her soon to be ex husband because although her dad loved her dearly he also loved Jack so left them half of the ran

The Cowboy’s Socialite by Carmen Falcone is a Western second chance romance with a happily ever after. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author, and is a standalone.

These two go together like champagne and Frito pie. Lola St. James has been separated from her husband, Jack, and living out in California. After her dad passes away, she comes back home to try and turn his Red Oak Ranch into a Bed and Breakfast. Jack is afraid she will turn it into a Barbie dream house or that she wo

It's been awhile since I've read a really good cowboy romance, and this one really satisfied! Though Jack and Lola are estranged, you could cut the sexual tension between them with a knife. They're working at odds, yet they're pulled inexplicably towards each other until they can't help but given in to the mutual attraction. I loved the secrets and the pieces of each other that they held back, yet all the while yelling at my Kindle, telling them to just break down and trust one another. It was a ...more

Second chance love stories are always full of angst ;) Seeing how Jack & Lola work through their issues is fun....stressful & overall a great time! You really start to root for the HEA! This is a wonderful summer beach read that will make the hot sun just a tad bit hotter! I love how Ms Falcone is growing and spreading her wings with a new genre!

The chemistry between Jack and Lola is hotter than the Texas Sun. The reality of a seemingly failed marriage, the tragedy of a loved one passing, the suprise and harsh reality of a women's temper, all add together like a combustible fire pit waiting for a flame. This story is hard to put down in words without any spoilers. I enthusiastically enjoyed this book, it doesn't disappoint with it's dramatic chemistry and bonefide Cowboy communication dilemmas. Grab a copy, sit back and enjoy the roller ...more

I'm a sucker for second chance romances and this one fills the void. I'm rounding up from a 4.5 stars because their was a head scratcher part for me, but it doesn't really effect the storyline, just me.
Lola needs to find herself, to find her confidence and know that she can be independent from daddy's money. Convincing her soon to be ex husband that she can be is a challenge. On the road to gaining her independence though is she losing it back to Jack? And does it matter?
The story is one
I gave up. And that’s a bloody shame, because I do like Carmen Falcone’s writing.

But this is entirely on me, because I couldn’t bear to read anymore about a selfish female protagonist who tries to blame everyone else but herself for her failings, right up to the end in what is a second-chance romance where both parties are still married but separated. Patching it however, seemed harder than a free trip to the moon and I’m simply inclined to think that this is mostly the shallow socialite’s faul

In The Cowboy’s Socialite, author Carmen Falcone brings her “A” game as she ventures into western romance.

Lola St. James is your average California socialite, but she’s in Texas now, and ready to begin again. The ranch is all Lola has left of her daddy and she’s determine to keep it and turn it into a bed and breakfast, but first she’ll have to deal with her ex-husband Jack Canyon, especially since the place is half his. And he’s not really her ex-husband, since she never got around to signing

Recommends it for: contemporary romance
This is the authors first entry into the Cowboy genre, This story was filled with snarky humor, stubbornness, untold truths everywhere, fear of loving and finally eyes wide open. I believe this was a wonderful and sweet, but not syrupy sweet, very believable, cowboy versus socialite romance and of course the authors famous sexy, sensual scenes. Read about a beautiful woman with commitment problems and a cowboy who doesn't want to forgive, both unwilling to admit their true feelings. As you can s ...more

A true second chance romance that tugs on the heartstrings! Right from the start you can feel the love between Jack and Lola. The issues Jack and Lola have is written realistically and with loads of heart. It was easy to relate to these characters and root for their happily ever after. A really great story!!

After Lola St. James has lost everything, she decides to move to the only place she has left, Red Oak Ranch in Texas and for once she is determined to turn her only possession into something great, she wants to turn the ranch into a luxury Bed & Breakfast, surely the life of luxury she lived in LA along with her stilettos will be easy enough trade for cowboy boots.

But her estranged husband Jack Canyon has other ideas. As part owner of the ranch he will do anything to stop her fro

The Cowboys Socialite by Carmen Falcone is a romantic comedy about second chances at lost love. Right from the get go, there’s humor, and immediately following that, tension on many levels. I like a story that wastes no time and automatically jumps into the good stuff! Within the first 2 chapters I already had an idea about what I can expect from both Lola and Jack, and I loved that. Both of them don't want anything to do with the other person, they our both stubborn, hard headed people who don't even realize that they our meant to be together. This was a good, quick read! The writing flowed well, and I liked the story line. Jack and Lola had good chemistry, and I enjoyed the HEA. I was glad to see Lola grow up, she was shallow and a little annoying in the beginning. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next!

When they married, years ago, neither Jack nor Lola were ready for marriage's trials and tribulations. He was building his business; while she was spending her father's money, socializing and partying. Her father died with debts, leaving both Jack & Lola his property. The physical attraction is still there and they're learning to like each other...

Cowboy Socialite is a sweet, steamy romance that's a little bit second time around, a little bit Hollywood meets the cattle trail and a little bit skeletons in the family closet. It could have been a cliche, but it's sooooo not.
In this story Lola's a socialite who has wandered through her life from one party to another and never really committed to anything, including her soon to be ex-husband Jack, but now, she needs him to agree to her setting up a bed and breakfast in the house they co-own,
