I absolutely love the main character of this book. Like the rest of us he has his own internal battles that he fights throughout the story making him fresh and relatable. With a few surprises hidden in the folds, each chapter takes you further into the world of the dragon riders. Really looking forward to finishing this series. Patiently awaiting the next book.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I loved this book, and I bought my own copy! I own the series before this book too!

This is the first book in this new series that is a spin-off of the Dragonrider Chronicles! This is a YA book! Okay I loved this book because it went back to Nicole’s original style! It does end leav

Savage, by Nicole Conway, is the first in a follow-up series to her awesome Dragonrider Chronicles. Reigh lives in two worlds, feeling out of place in both. He's a human adopted by grey elves. As such, he ages different, and to make matters worse he is host to an enigmatic spirit called Noh. When he runs away, hoping to protect others from Noh, he stumbles across a group of humans lost in the dangerous forest Reigh and his adopted kin ca

Dragons? Yes, please. If that's what you want, there's not much of that here. But there is a story and it earns 3.8 out of five stars from me.
This is a follow up to the Dragon Riders series by Conway. I only read the first and last books in that series, and I think this book stands apart from it enough that it would be enjoyed be readers new to the universe Conway created.
It starts with tension, but it didn't hook me. That's why I started it and put it down. However, when I picked it up the seco

Where do I start with how much I loved this book?

I didn’t think Nicole Conway’s writing could get any better. I was in love with the Dragonrider Chronicles and didn’t believe there was any way she could top those tales. Boy, was I wrong.

From page 1, SAVAGE captured my interest and held it to the very end. The world-building, the characters…a-maaaazing!!! And I loved the adventure! Conway managed to weave a convincing tale of elves and dragons, humans and magic.

My heart went out to Reigh and all

I am a fan of the series that this one is the spin off of so i eagerly dived into to Savage.  I love the delightful interaction between the characters and the dragons to the point where you can really picture the whole interaction happening.  This book starts out just the first one in the other series you got a character who does not necessarily know everything about themselves.  As a result a adventures unfolds and like peeling an onion you get a small piece of the whole bigger picture as you r ...more

Another great read!

Nicole Conway does NOT disappoint in this new story of Reigh. Much like Jaevid in the previous books, Reigh has a power he doesn't understand and slowing begins learning how to use it. And don't think I didn't miss Jaevid, because I did! But this story is full of action and thrills and heartache, much similar to her previous stories. And there is a sweet surprise at the end for those that read the previous stories of The Dragonriders Chronicles, but I'm not telling! Read the b

This book was great! The thing that I enjoyed most about this book is, even though I did not read the previous series, I did not need to to understand this one. It gently guides you through the after effects and the resulting story line. I think Reigh got a little lost for me sometimes. He's a character searching for his family and his origins and why he doesn't feel like he belongs, which is a story any teenager can relate to. It was a great build up and a good story. Definitely not one to drag ...more

A great sequel

I quickly ate my way through the Fledgling series and I was thrilled to see that there was a sequel. It is quite good and adds new characters that the reader wants to survive and thrive. The descriptions could have been fleshed out fuller, as it was hard to picture everything in my head. A few missing words, a few grammatical errors, a few misspelled words, but overall a great read.

Brilliant storyteller in need of Thesaurus

I gobbled up the first four books. Ms Conway has taken a fairly run of the mill story and made it excitingly, page turningly tense. This one is no exception and I can hardly wait to read the next one.

But . . . Would someone please get her a Thesaurus! There are many other words to describe a facial expression other than "smirk." If she could just learn and use some of them. PLEASE!

Savage, the book I am currently reading, has a character who is scared, confused, sad and angry. The character is scared because he has a monster and power inside of him, who he doesn’t have control over. Confused, because people are saying he is related to the royal family and the land is at war. Sad and angry because he murdered many people in a certain radius, both foe and friend.

Book 1

Book 1 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The build of of the plot and characters was slow. It did not pick up until almost halfway through. I did enjoy the book once it got going. The main character boy complains a lot and is less mature than i hoped. I do look forward to book 2 and I hope it progresses faster than book 1.

Lot of things happened. Lot of plot twists.

I got more to say but it been awhile since I read this book, so I kinda forgot.

I want the female dragon he bonded to to be mates with him or at least never take another and never leave each other side.

Excellent. Loved every page

Ms. Conway draws the reader into a rich, magical world and takes them on an emotional roller coaster ride that's exciting and poignant. Her gift of character development helps the reader to know and care for each of her characters. The ending comes too fast and leaves the reader hungry for the next book in the series.
