This is the first book I've read by Christie Ridgway, but it definitely will not be the last. The Secret was all kinds of sweetness, sexiness and a very emotional read.

I fell in love with all the central characters as they came on the scene. Charlotte "Charlie" is the butler for the Archer household. She keeps everything running smoothly, including taking care of six-year-old Wells Archer. Wells is adorable and so well behaved, and he adores Charlie. Ethan Archer is Well's father. Ethan works a

You know those easy swoony reads with a dash of emotional angst? Well, The Secret was just that. This is a standalone in a series and the first book we’ve read by this Author. It was well written with a few twists we didn’t see coming. A romantic Sunday afternoon read on the beach for lovers of single dad romances.

This is the first book I’ve read by author Christie Ridgway but it won’t be my last. The Secret was all kinds of deliciousness rolled up into an emotionally charged, sweet but utterly sexy package.

Charlotte “Charlie” Emerson is a proud graduate of the first all female class at Continental Butler School and loves her job in the household of a widower and his son. Charlie is efficient and keeps their household and lives running smoothly, but now eleven months in to her employment she can’t deny th

Ethan and Charlie are employer and butler, so this is essentially a workplace romance with the boss...and, I was looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, I had a tough time with this one. I thought the secret was both obvious, and unbelievable that the circumstances would actually align in such a way as to make this realistic.

Other than this, I liked the book overall. I liked their chemistry, and I believed in the relationship. But, at the end, when

The Secret by Christie Ridgway was a fun, quick read with just a touch of angst. A story about a prim and proper female butler and the Archer men who fall for her.

Charlotte Emerson, Charlie, is a graduate of the first ever all female butler class at a prestigious school. For about a year she has been helping Ethan Archer manage his home and care for his six-year old son. She loves her job, adores the child and to her dismay, has recently started seeing Archer in new ways. Ways a butler should n

This novel was read and reviewed by Melissa.

I started this novel without knowing that this was a 6th novel in The Billionaire's Beach series. That did not hinder me in reading this one. While there was characters that were from some of the other novels this one , there is enough information given so that you are not lost.

This novel is centered around Charlotte "Charlie" and Ethan. This is a boss/employee storyline with Charlie being Ethan's butler. I enjoyed reading this light story of how they

Reviewed on behalf of Book,
The secret is in some ways an unusual book. We have the Archer household in which we have Ethan a single father who had lost the love of his life 4 years ago. Michelle is kept alive with pictures everywhere. Including keeping her memory alive for her son.
Into to family a year before came Charlie a butler who has taken over running of the household, and looking after Wells when his father is at work. In that time Charlie has fallen for Ethan and Wells even t

The Secret by author, Christie Ridgway was another great read. The book was a very emotional read. The story was one that definitely touched my heart. The story introduces the reader to widower, Ethan Archer and his son, Wells and the butler(nanny), Charlie. Charlie is an amazing butler but she's keeping a secret from Ethan. Ethan and Charlie develop feelings for each other but are afraid to trust their feelings after experiencing heartbreak from their past. The secret that Charlie keeps is one ...more

The Secret is a sweet tale of heated moments and undying love. Charlie and Ethan's romance is the type that sneaks up and steals away with the heart. With all the pain endured by each, I wanted them to find some happiness. Ms. Ridgway can get inside the head and capture hold of the heart easily and The Secret is evidence of that talent. Another winning story.

I was really into this book, enjoying the story, liking the characters, then all of a sudden the hero was all over the heroine, talking dirty to her, stripping her clothes off. It totally ruined the natural flow of the story and changed it into a guide to sex. It was completely unnecessary at that point. If the relationship had continued to build they would have either reached that point on their own or gotten married. Just felt forced and totally out of character for the hero who wa

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is my first time reading anything in this series. It is book #6 in the Billionaire's Beach Series and #3 in the series about three female butlers but having read none of the other books I did not feel lost at all, so this story easily can stand alone.

Charlie/Charlotte is the main character in this story. She has been a butler to our hero Ethan, and his son Wells. Wells is the adopted son of Ethan and his wife who passed away about 4

Charlie is a female butler for a widowed man and his young son. She has been one for the Archer family now for just under a year. She has fallen madly in love with Wes, the young charge, and has also fallen in love with the father, Ethan. However she keeps her feelings to herself, until Ethan suggests a marriage of convenience, which is all that Charlie wants, or is it?

Ethan thinks he needs to have a wife in case if something were to ever happen to him, since he feels he is getting up in age, if

I cried, I loved, and I couldn’t put down The Secret by Christie Ridgway, book 6 in the Billionaire’s Beach series. In this story we meet Charlotte, “Charlie”, Emerson who worked as butler and nanny for widower Ethan Archer and his son Wells. Charlie loves working near her butler friends and taking caring of the men in the Archer family. Ethan starts to worry about ...more
This was my first time reading Christie Ridgway and while I liked the story, but I had a hard time connecting with Charlie's character. I get that she had to maintain that polite, reserved demeanor due to her unique career choice, but to me she came across as so reserved that she barely had a personality. There were a few spots in the story where Charlie's feistiness made an appearance but for the most part she was levelheaded and had the ability to keep calm in a stressful situation. Christie Ridgeway has done it again. She has taken a traditionally male career, a butler & turned it around. Charlotte "Charlie" Emerson keeps widower Ethan Archer's household running like clockwork. She's even taken on the extra duties of nanny to Ethan's son, Wells. She has become an integral part of their little family. That would all change if her secret comes out.

Ethan enjoys the order & peace that Charlie & her organizing skills bring to his life. He's had a hole in his life s

“…I have to be friendly to everyone, but I don’t have to be everyone’s friend.”

This is my favorite line in this book because it is a fantastic way to deal with many problems in real life. It is spoken by Wells, to his father, Ethan, the hero. Heroine, Charlotte (Charlie), Ethan’s female butler, taught this to Wells in order for him to be able to deal with people who are not nice to him.

I enjoyed this story very much. It is the thi

The Secret (Billionaire's Beach #6) by Christie Ridgway has a humdinger of a secret that may have been obvious to others but took me by complete surprise. I am not sure that the believability is there since too many factors would have been coincidental but life does work out that way sometimes so who am I to say. Still it matters little to me if it could happen, it is the sort of thing that you wish could happen, so it did not stop me from enjoying the story exactly as it panned out.

Who doesn’t love a single dad romance? This book was my first read by Christie Ridgway and I really enjoyed it. Charlotte, Charlie, Emerson is the efficient and capable butler to wealthy widower and single dad Ethan Archer, and the nanny of his six-going-on-seven son Wells. This was such a sweet book! Charlie is a butler for single dad Ethan and his adorable son Wells. Ethan and his wife adopted Wells as a baby and two years later his wife passed away. This is the sixth book in the Billionaire’s Beach series so you know there is going to be a hot, rich guy and a woman who is his ‘butler.’ The twist here is that Ethan Archer, the billionaire is a father with a little boy. And that endears him to Charlie Emerson, the new butler. She started as just the butler but then became the nanny to Wells when no one stuck around. After his mother died from cancer, he made sure that everyone knew she died. Charlie wanted to fill that void for him but she’s ...more

Whenever I hear/read/see the word Butler, I think of Mr Belvedere. Especially if said butler essentially runs the household. And Charlie definitely does. She watches over Wells, takes care of him and Ethan and their household. She's insanely organized and such a planner that it makes me a little jealous.

Charlie loves being around for Wells and Ethan although she tells herself not to fall for them. This is a temporary gig and when Ethan finds out her secret, he won't want her anywhere near them.

This is another wonderful book by Christie Ridgway about three female friends who became butlers...yest, butlers. This one features "Charlie" who is the butler to Ethan and his young son. She has everything under control and runs a very tight ship. The only problem is she has the hots for her boss, which is so unprofessional. She walks in on Ethan at a very private moment (extremely hot) and it becomes obvious that he has the hots for her also. Where do they go from there? Could Ethan and his so ...more

I am a fan of Christie Ridgway.  Her books draw me in and won't let go until I m at the end.  The only thing that threw me was Charlie was a Butler.  I have not read about with the heroine being a butler.  A butler was to me a household manager that oversees everything including the child(ren) within the house.

I did not see Charlie's secret being what it is.  Wow!  OMG!  The chemistry between Charlie and Ethan is combustible.  What will Ethan do once he learns Charlie's secret?  Will he still
