About the author

When I first started reading this series,it was fresh an d funny.I loved the guys obession with anything food related,but after a while it has become wash,rinse,repeat :(
I love this author,but I couldn't connect with this couple.At least the heroine can cook which is a plus for the hero.Final verdict....Jason is still my favorite Bradford hunk.Aiden's book is up next,hopefully it is an improvement though I can't say much for the heroine as I didn't like her in Lucifer's book.

This is just....not good.
The virgin is probably no better than a manwhore and the heroine's a pushover and I just didn't get the whole book!

I have read and enjoyed the first 3 books in this series. The fourth book however was a historical and since I don't read those, I let it pass and forgot all about the other books in this seriest. That is until I saw this one on the GR updates feed. So I did what I always do. I skipped all the others and jumped straight into this one, since it sounded good to me ;)



I had no problem what so ever to follow the storyline, so it's safe to say, that his one can be read as a stand alone. That doesn't mean it won't be more enjoyable when you read the others fist, since I am sure that the hero Reese plays a part in the other books. I just wouldn't know....

So anyways.... Reese has just been dumped by his bitchy fiancee. She did this quite publicly,  by writing a letter and pinning it to his door. A door he can no longer open. In this letter she announces that she is (and has been for some time) fucking his best friend and revealing one of his secrets. She was definitely a bitch with a capitale B, though the letter did make me laugh my ass off :)

   I am not really sorry..

Things escalate from there on and Reese is forces to take a leave from work (he's a cop) and retreat to a safe haven. This safe haven being the place he was gonna take his fiancé. He takes some of his "Bradford" cousins and their wifes and kids with him. So for those of you who want to know....there are some great scenes with Jason and Trevor :P

The "Bradford" men and their obsession with food always makes me smile ;)



It is one this retreat that he meets Kasey. I loved Kasey, she was prett cool and funny and the Bradford men, and in this case especially Reese, were very lucky to meet her, since she cooks for a living.

Kasey hasn't had the easiest life. Being dubbed as the town slut at the age of 15. Having a baby at the age of 16 and at the same time losing her husband. Not easy at all...but she did it anyways and came out a winner as far as I am concerned.



She has an amazing 10 year old daughter and two awesome friends.

At first Reese is a bit conflicted since she is not at all his usual type...since those are stupid bitchy bimbo's it seems.

While offering to renovate her kitchen he gets to know her better, and the more he sees the more he likes.



He knows all about her past though...so he takes it slow, not wanting to spook her off. And there is also still the little "not so secret" issue he needs to tell her about.

I really loved how their relationship grew. I also loved the interaction between him and Mikey, her daughter. What I didn't like so much was the use of the word "slit". Some might think it's sexy...I am however not one of those people.



What can I say... I am a good old fasion "pussy" kind of girl 

Other than that this book does have some really hot and steamy scenes, that would have fogged up my glasses if I was wearing any.



All in all a very nice, sweet, sexy and funny read. I hope there will be more in this series, but first I will have to go back and read all the ones that I have skipped ...well except for the historical one :P

Reese Bradford needs a break, after his ex-fiancee publicly aired her grievances towards him for the whole town. Now he is the butt of everyone's jokes and he needs to getaway. Going to his families cabin, he hopes to get that reprieve but with his cousins and their family in tow it looks to be chaos. Looking for a diversion he finds it in his neighbor Kasey. The woman knows nothing about remodeling but she seems to be trying and it is a debacle. Deciding he is going to do the job for her, Reese inserts himself in Kasey's life and doesn't allow her to give in to her fear of giving him a chance.

Loved this. I laughed and laughed with this one. Poor Reese, he is kind of the family misfit and beats to his own drum. Trevor and Jason make appearances and I was cracking up with Kasey's sidekicks and daughter. Definitely reread worthy. Can't wait for more books in this series.

"Delectable" is the story of Kasey and Reese.

Where do they make men like Reese and how do I find them?

An absolute heartwarming story with one of the kindest heroes Reece and the neighbor who steals his heart, single mother Kasey. When his fiancé runs away after the wedding leaving forward a very exposing note that makes him the joke of the ton, Reece and his cousins decide to take a vacation. It is there he meets our heroine, who is a social media chef, in need of a renovator. As sparks fly, he volunteers to do the job and soon we have the couple falling in love in the most adorable fashion.

There was a LOT to love in this book. Starting from Reese and his decision to remain chaste, his kindness and overall generosity, to Kasey and her fight to survive and be the best mother. The spice and humor is added by Kasey's daughter Mikey, banter between her best friend Sara and her ex brother in law Eric (who is a total Mr Collins), the return of Trevor/ Hailey/ Jason/ Zoe- the sexcapades of his parents, the overall loving fights the characters have and their obsession with food. I really enjoyed how the MC were honest with each other and the relationship's progression. Also his bond with Mikey made my heart MELT. The book was a comedy of errors with a well bred, heartwarming ending. I stan.

RLM's books never fail to leave a warm feeling in my heart and this was no exception.

1 thing I want to complain about from the sneak peak we got: In the letter that Missy wrote as "goodbye, see ya" she adopted the Bradford's typical air of "It's not me, it's you. I'M actually doing YOU a FAVOUR!" You know what I mean?
No, missy (lol). Listen up, you're not a part of their clan so you do not get to act like god's gift to humankind. Because only they are.

I'm sure it's probably me, but I struggled with this.

The long, long sentences that ran in and on, covering several points while giving different descriptions of character actions and reactions distracted me and made it hard for me to figure out what going on. Then the story skipped around - I got lost more than a few times.

I hope the author will show us a different "character" 'coz it seems all her characters/stories are somehow cut from the same cloth (wth of course they are Bradfords but it gives you the feeling that it is always love-hate, banter-love plot) ~ Reese seemed to be tamed (fufufufu) hopefully Kasey will bring out the best in him >:]

Me ha gustado mucho, no tanto como para llevar la puntuacion perfecta, peeero me ha encantado. Reese es adorable, bueno, generoso y de todo, le adoro.
Lo que mas me ha gustado(a parte del final que ha sido perfecto) fue que Jason, Haley, Mi amado Trevor, la genial Zoe y los niños, estuvieron muy presentes en la historia, sobre todo el pequeño Sebastian(mi niño favorito de los Bradford❤️)
Muuuy recomendado.
Esta autora es mi favorita de adulto contemporaneo, sus historias son adictivas.
Además, mi libro favorito de romance es Perfect, escrito por ella.

La serie "Neighbors" è caratterizzata da libri autoconclusivi, con un filo conduttore che unisce tutti i libri. Ogni trama è frizzante e divertente, ogni personaggio è spumeggiante e ben delineato. "Deliziosa bugia" è il titolo del nono libro appena arrivato in Italia! Già dalle prime pagine l'autrice cattura l'attenzione del lettore grazie alla sua penna ironica e divertente in cui non mancheranno gli scenari divertenti e simpatici. È quindi arrivato il momento di conoscere Reese Bradford. Tra la famiglia Bradford, Reese è sicuramente il personaggio più chiuso e introverso. Reese si sente incredibilmente solo. Nella vita, quando ad una certa età non hai raggiunto gli obiettivi preposti, ti sembra quasi di aver sprecato tempo, denaro e sentimenti per investirli nel nulla. E Reese si sente esattamente così. Ferito dentro, non sa come reagire a ciò che gli è accaduto. Lui è un personaggio introverso, differente dal carattere carismatico degli altri maschi Bradford, ha un carattere dolce e sensibile. Dall'altra parte abbiamo Kasey, il personaggio femminile che ha dovuto crescere troppo in fretta: da adolescente aveva già i problemi di un'adulta, con una vita difficile alle spalle, si è dovuta costruire una corazza per andare avanti. È unica, spumeggiante e serena nonostante tutti i problemi che ha affrontato. Kasey ha una bambina dolcissima e vivace, piena di vita e di colore. Grazie alla meravigliosa penna di R.L. La loro storia è scritta pienamente, ogni scena è un'arricchimento, una piacevole sorpresa. Il feelling che si instaura tra i personaggi è descritto in modo perfetto ed è impossibile non innamorarsi di loro. La penna di R.L. Mathewson ha la capacità di mettere di buon umore chiunque e in questo periodo non è per niente scontato. Il libro è scritto in modo impeccabile, ogni scena, descrizione e dialogo sono perfetti. Nonostante i temi delicati trattati dall'autrice, la storia presenta sempre uno sfondo di ilarità e un'aria leggera e vivace. Con questa storia l'autrice ha creato una grande famiglia unita e pronta a dare il tutto e per tutto per chi ama. Adoro il suo stile di scrittura, la sua narrazione mi lascia sempre con un enorme sorriso. Anche in questo libro ho trovato la gioia di rivedere i fratelli Bradford e le loro mogli.

It's been a while since I've read an NfH book and I'd forgotten just how much fun they are. Reese and Kasey are just so darn cute and bonus points for a lack of ridiculously dragged-out angst or crazy misunderstandings.

Whilst the characters in each book are distinct, unique and well-rounded, and the plots are very different, there are common themes that run throughout each book and a very similar style of inner monologue. I suspect that if you tried to blitz the series one after another you could become annoyed/bored by the similar feel of the books. By spacing them out you get to (re)visit this wonderful and loving extended family.

Whilst the books aren't particularly laugh-out-loud funny, there is a warmth to the humour that greatly satisfies the soul. It's very much a series I intend to keep reading, and a family I want to keep spending time with.

I have waited for this book for so long. I kept worrying that Mathewson is going to stop continuing this series. Imagine my joy when I was notified that this book ready for me to read!



This book was clearly different from the previous books in the series. It had less of the sarcastic humour that is difficult to recognise as just humour and not true sentiments of the characters. It was a lot more emotional and earthy in its storyline and character development. Clearly, Mathewson has been working on a different direction all this while. And I for one am not complaining. Her changes to her writing work really well. Especially because she still used her trademark humour. She just added a little somber and thoughtful interactions here and there to add more gravity to the story.

FINALLY finished it after stopping so many times. I like reading about couples with kids, so at the beginning I thought I would really enjoy this book since the heroine has a daughter. But sadly I hated this book. I hated the heroine, any type of relationship that was in the book, the plot, the supposed to be funny dialogue and writing style too. I loved reading Neighbor from Hell series until this far but this one was a big disappointment (and annoying at times). I'm really sorry about this review, but I just couldn't connect to anything in this book.

Hated that Kasey (h) was still hung up on her dead hubby at 60% of the book. Reese (H) deserved a better heroine. I really felt bad for him, he should have met someone else. Won't be reading any NFH books from now on coz this pissed me off seriously.

Whenever I need a book to put a smile on my face, I know I can always turn to R.L. Mathewson’s Neighbour from Hell series. But, lately, I find that they just aren’t doing it for me like they have in the past. Are they still fun? Yeah, I guess. It’s just that after so many books it just feels like Mathewson is just trading on the same old jokes, which means each time I read a new release I get a little more bored.

But, that doesn’t mean I didn’t like this, it just means I have series fatigue and Mathewson doesn’t shake up her books enough to snap me out of it. So, although I will continue to read this series, after all it does still make me laugh – just not as often or for as long – I am never quite as excited as I was when I first discovered the Neighbour from Hell series. But, Mathewson does consistently produce sexy and fun romances and Delectable was an entertaining instalment in the series.

So, although this is a rather lukewarm review, I did like Delectable. If you haven't read this series and you are in the mood for a series that manages to combine sexy and funny really well, then I do recommend that you give it a try.

Hello Reece Bradford - Yummy is Right!

Another Bradford bachelor bites the dust... and in spectacular fashion.

It's awkward, full of mayhem, mischief, mistakes & misunderstandings - you know, the perfect Bradford courtship.

I just love this series. I know I'm going to be entertained as well as get a large dose of the heart-warming feels. Not to mention a healthy serving of the swoons, generally followed by hot-flashes & thigh clenches that'd crack walnuts.

Yup, these men are just something else. And you can't help but love the mouthy, sassy, stubborn women that give them a run for their money.

There's plenty of golden moments with characters we've loved for years that fans can devour. Besides, let's be realistic - Jason & Trevor would never stop pouting and glaring over the treachery if they didn't get an appearance in everyone's story. The giant man-babies. LOL.

We also get little hints & teasers of potential future books (I think Mac's is going to be a hoot if my guess is right) and I'm dying to learn more about what's going on in one of the twin's heads. (Vague on purpose for those who've not read yet...)

And lastly, there's the fact we get a snippet chapter of "Irresistible". OMGEE - it's gonna be on like Donkey Kong! Can't wait.

Bottom line : Reece, Kasey & Co are a wonderful addition to this crazy-crew & I loved every word.

While some of the books in the series have become over the top, I actually really loved this one.

You still got all the Bradford...er...uh...charm but it wasn't so over the top that it annoyed me.

I will say, that having read this twice now, I preferred this one in ebook over audio. Don't get me wrong, the audio was good, but I found him constantly calling her Sweetheart annoying in audio. There was just something off with it. Also, maybe I'm just spoiled at this point, but I missed having a guy narrate Reese's POV.

In questi giorni di noia chiusi in casa l'unica cosa bella è stato l'arrivo dell'ultimo libro della “Neighbors series” di R.L. Mathewson grazie alla Newton Compton editori, dal titolo “Deliziosa bugia”.

Reese è appena stato tradito dalla sua futura moglie e il suo migliore amico. Nonostante questo decide di andare lo stesso in viaggio di nozze per potersi riprendere dalla batosta.
Sin dal primo giorno incontra la sua vicina, una donna fastidiosa che non rientra nei suoi canoni di bellezza ma che sembra apprezzarlo.
E a quanto pare passeranno un po' di tempo insieme a causa di urgenti riparazioni e una bambina che ha bisogno di lui.

Chi segue la serie sa benissimo che Reese è il gemello di Darrin, che abbiamo conosciuto proprio nel libro precedente. Ha subito da parte della sua ex il peggior tradimento; non solo lo ha lasciato per il suo migliore amico, ma ha pubblicato una lettera in cui diceva che la sua verginità era diventata un problema.
Questo lo ha reso fin troppo noto, per questo decide di prendersi una pausa da tutto il trambusto e andare nella casa al mare, prenotata per la luna di miele, per riprendersi.
Insieme a lui ci andranno anche alcune nostre vecchie conoscenze: i suoi cugini con la famiglia, Jason e Trevor.
Le loro avventure mi hanno fatto divertire e l'autrice è riuscita anche a farmi sentire la mancanza dei libri che riguardavano la loro storia.
Durante questa "pausa" incontrano la loro vicina Kasey, ragazza madre che adocchia subito il nostro protagonista apostrofandolo "bello gnocco".
All'inizio Reese nemmeno si accorge di lei, ma quando la cucina della donna inizia ad andare in pezzi sente il richiamo della passione. Nonostante il nostro protagonista sia un poliziotto come suo fratello, ha sempre avuto la passione di progettare ambienti e decide di farlo per Kasey. Pian piano Reese si rende conto che non esiste un canone ideale di donna, ma solo quella che ti fa battere il cuore più velocemente.

"La conosceva solo da una fottuta settimana e l’idea di stare anche solo un giorno senza vederla lo mandava in pezzi."

Questo personaggio sta molto a cuore alla nostra autrice, infatti nelle note ha dichiarato che per crearlo ci ha messo un po' più di tempo.
Il protagonista è incastrato nella sua vita come se non gli appartenesse. Ama lavorare con il fratello ma non ama il lavoro di poliziotto, ha sempre preferito ristrutturare e progettare, anche se solo nella sua mente.
Con questa storia avremo modo di scoprire come se ne renderà conto.

Kasey è una ragazza madre, l'unica cosa di cui le importa è sua figlia Mickey, anche se questo significa accantonare gli uomini.
Infatti quando Reese si rende conto del suo interesse per Kasey, farà molta fatica a convincerla che la loro conoscenza è una cosa giusta e non un tradimento nei confronti del padre della piccola.
Mi ha fatto proprio ridere questo personaggio; non le manca mai la battuta giusta al momento giusto, anche se serve a nascondere i suoi veri sentimenti.

Lo stile della Mathewson ormai l'ho decantato in tutti i volumi e non voglio essere ripetitiva ma, se come me avete imparato ad amarla, continuate questa serie perché io già non vedo l'ora che esca la prossima storia.
Oggigiorno trovare un libro che riesca a metterci di buon umore è difficile, ma l'autrice ci riesce senza fatica.
Dialoghi e situazioni, anche se seri, hanno uno sfondo allegro che ci fa sorridere.
È proprio per questo che mi piace questa autrice, crea libri che non ci permettono di pensare ma di alleggerire la nostra mente. Specialmente quando la famiglia si riunisce e sfamarli tutti è un lavoro a tempo pieno, cosa di cui Kasey si renderà conto molto presto!
