I received an ARC copy of this book from the author for reviewing purposes.

The Autumn Man is a well-written book. It does so many things right. First of all, I love the characters. There's so much depth to them--the way that Amon evolves throughout the novel is one example. It was interesting to read about his backstory. I like the complexity of the different characters relationships too, particularly Megan and Christina's.

I love Steele's writing style--there are certain scenes in the novel tha

Something strange is going on in the sleepy town of Milton. It rolled in with the storm. The same storm that killed Megan's brother, Tom, in a horrific motorcycle accident. Now there are two men poking around Milton. One being a drifter who has taken up residency as a boarder in Megan's home.

Amon may be a handsome, reclusive writer, but he comes with a ton of questions. Megan is attracted to him but she can't shake the ominous feeling that he's hiding something. She also can't help but notice t

The Autumn Man is that very rare find – a contemporary Gothic horror, replete with complex characters and a series of terrifying twists. Fans of Dickens and Hugo will appreciate Steele’s depth of language and atmospheric writing. Even the characters you think are the heroes of the tale are psychological puzzleboxes, but Steele’s work shines most in the harrowing moments of transformation, murder, and flight that take place across centuries of storytelling. A book that will have you tossing and t ...more

As the everyday people of the little town go about their everyday lives, a confrontation is brewing between two ancient enemies who share a common link to the past. A past the town has long since forgotten. The townsfolk become pawns in a battle they know nothing of and it is up to a f ...more

This is a story to keep you up at night. Welcome to Milton, just a small New England town, but with a deep secret or two. Beginning with the death of Tom Shelley, readers are taken into a thrilling horror story that is ages in the making. The ultimate battle of good, evil and that spot in between will have readers turning the pages. The book is fairly long, but that is because the story is involved and the author does a great job keeping everything in order and has great characters. This is one ...more

The Autumn Man is a new novel by Eric Ian Steele... about two ancient mortal enemies, werewolves to be exact, but aren’t werewolves so yesterday? After reading Mr. Steele’s tale, I can assure you, they are not. The author doesn’t allow himself to be drawn into the current craze of pathetic girly men with fur, and teeth designed for love nibbles!
Although his monsters are at times described as beautiful to behold, and there’s a strong undercurrent of a love story, there’s no question of the aut
