Audio-book: Narrators - Lacy Laurel and D.C. Cole

Wow! These narrators did a freaking fantastic job of bringing Niccolaio and Minka to full life. They pulled me deeper into the story than I would have been had I simply read the book and I found myself laughing, gasping, and cheering with this hero and heroine via the narrators. The fluctuation of both were perfect and both did an admirable job of vocalizing the opposite sex’ voice. I was fully engaged the entire time.

I loved both main characters

The very characters that I despised in "Asher Black" ... hero/anti-heroine, a genuine douchebag, "Niccolaio Andretti" aka Nick Andrews and the hateful, mean girl college student who was enemy of Aimee and Lucy (Asher's fiance'), MINKA REYNOLDS

Sorry, not sorry but these were once awful characters...

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 4 stars

I really enjoyed the narration by DC Cole and Lacy Laurel in this slow burn mafia romance. There was just the right amount of steam, angst, and action to draw listeners/readers in. Though characters from the previous book Asher Black do appear, this book can be enjoyed as a stand alone.

Our hero and heroine, Niccolaio and Minka, are not easy characters to like. They are broken, angry, and trust almost no one. Their pasts have left

Wow Wow Wow Wow!
The only feeling I have right now is why I had to swallow this book so fast!
Good books, always leave you feeling like, well, I have to read this book again! And that's what I want to do now!
The second book in the series is about Nick.
From the first book I suspected about him.
And when I read the first few chapters, I knew there was going to be a painful and difficult story here. But with a lot of courage and

Here are a few exclusive excerpts from Niccolaio Andretti:

I hate him. From the second I met him, I hated him. I knew he would be trouble for me, for my future, and most importantly, for Mina. Yet, I’m standing in front of him. And worse—I want to be here. I want the world to pause for just one darn second, so I can stay forever in this moment, where a man I’m attracted to is looking at me like he’s attracted to me, too. Is that too much to ask?

Either way, he’s involved in criminal

*Sigh* *SQUEEEE* Okay, I had to get those out of the way first! I LOVED Asher Black so so sooooo much, that I was a little worried about reading Niccolaio. I knew it was going to be at least a little rough for me because of the blurb. I wasn't sure if I could get to LIKE Minka enough to love her enough to believe in her enough to enjoy her. And so I pushed this story to the side for a bit until I was ready to give her a chance.

And the beginning WAS hard. It WAS really difficult for me to get a

My reviews are a reflection of my own feelings and thoughts. I have nothing against the author, my problem is with her characters especially the main ones.

We met Nick and Minka in the first book

Audio review:
Niccolaio Andretti: A Mafia Romance Novel (The Five Syndicates, Book 2) needs to be listened to in order in my opinion. As, I listened to these out of order and felt like I was missing something with this particular audio. I've listened to also 3, 5, and 6 and absolutely loved them. This one is my least favourite and felt I missed the boat by not listening to Asher Black first. I absolutely loved the cover of this one, but not the characters so much. The synopsis is alluring and the

This is the second book in this series by this author. This book is just as good as the first one. This book has plenty of hot and steamy scenes, angst, action and a bit of romance. The characters were really well written and was nice to read a different side to them. This book flowed really well, such an easy book to read. I just couldn't put this book down till I'd finished it. I can't wait to read more from this author and in this series in the future.

Highly recommended series and author

Dnf at 30%. Had potential but lacked any real dialogue or main character appeal. Interesting concept and the 1st book in the series was ok but this one just refused to go anywhere for me. More interaction and less repetitive and unnecessary filler would have gone a long way towards improving this book.

Yummy redemption story

This was a fabulous read! I'm always worried when I start to read redemption stories because I usually (as expected) hate the character at first. The main female character in this book, Minka, was the person-to-hate in book one, Asher Black. She was mean, cruel, and very vindictive. But damn this author has written her story so perfectly. Both she and the male lead character Niccolaio have such troubled back stories that they match up so perfectly. I needed Minka and

It was a struggle

I really liked the main male character in this addition of the series. Minka was just so so. There’s was really nothing about her that drew you in and made you want to root for her. Sure she had a crappy background, but it still didn’t excuse how she poorly treated others. Even though the author tried real hard to make up for her behavior from book one. I also didn’t get why they both thought Lucy from book one was so insane like a lunatic. None of her behavior was over the

First, let me say:
Parker S. Huntington's The Five Syndicate Series is about five "families", each controlling a portion of The United States and part of Canada....They are the DeLuca, the Camerino, the Rossi, the Romano and the Andretti families....

After reading ASHER BLACK, Book 1 of this series, not only could I not believe this young author's writing talent, but the fact that it was her first book, REALLY blew me

This story starts out with Niccolaio unable to sleep after his brother Ranieri had been relocated because a hit on Vincent Romano had failed. The smaller location was more easily defended, they thought. But as Niccolaio walks down the hall, he notices the hall is unguarded. Gun drawn, he continues to clear each hall and room and finds no guards. He goes to Ranie’s room and holds his gun on four Romano killers ready to break in. The youngest seems to be in charge and they come to an agreement ...more

Niccolaio “Nick” Andretti left the Andretti's after killing his uncle to spare him death at the hands of Asher Black after the Andretti’s attempted to kill Vince Romano. He’s been in hiding ever since as a de facto Romano, but he's still on guard and suspicious of others.

Minka Reynolds is a formidable law student who finds herself hopping from the bed of one wealthy geezer to another in the hopes of achieving enough financial stability for her to

If you thought, Asher Black was good, than Niccolaio Andretti will blow you away.

There are tons of romance series out there, but finding a series that can make you come back, over and over again after reading the first book, it’s something very rare. At least in my case.

I was so engrossed in the story that eating or sleeping were the last of my concerns but getting to the bottom of the mystery surrounding the characters was definitely far more important lol

When I started Niccolaio Andretti I wasn't sure how I'd feel. The heroine, Minka Reynolds was in Asher Black and wasn't a nice all. But that is where Parker S. Huntington's fantastic writing comes into play. She totally turned it around, making Minka not only likeable but forgiveable. You understand her actions and she is the best person for Niccolaio. Nick is something else entirely, he's the man that made a decision and is paying for it, it isn't until Minka that he truly

I love this Series so much!! This is the second book in the Five Syndicates Series and the second book written by this author! Amazing! I was waiting for this audiobook, but it was worth the wait. Believe me! This story is different than the first book in the Series. I love the story of Minka and Niccolaio. Their chemistry is like fire. They are both strong. The storyline is really well written, entertaining and captivating. The world building is really well developed and interesting. This story ...more

I wasn’t sure if i was going to like this one, i always think the first book in the series is going to be better and also the heroine was not someone i thought i could like.

Well i was wrong on both accounts this book had an fantastic storyline and i was hooked from the start and again couldn’t put it down until i knew how this would end.

Both these characters were so broken form there family’s that you knew why these two would make a perfect pair, both thier pasts were hard to get past but what

I think I am actually at a loss for words right now. I guess I can start by saying that this book really speaks to the soul. Compared to the first book, this one is pretty tame. I skimmed through most of the book, but I am glad I did not give up on it. Although there is not much action in this book, the message it gives is one that is very deep and worth reading about. I am still unsure how I should rate this book. I wanted to give the book between 3 1/2 to 4 stars because of the beginning of ...more

Coming off of Asher Black, I could not wait to start this story. But Parker S Huntington has surprised me with this one! It's different from the first one, introducing Niccolaio to us as he is hiding from a hit on his life. Not your typical mafia story, Niccolaio is not the head of the family in control of everything. Minka is a college student, who is looking for her sugar daddy so that she can get her younger sister out of foster care. When these two cross paths, their is insta -lust. The ...more

Another great story this one about Niccolaio Andretti in the Mafia Romance series. I read Asher Black and absolutely loved it!! Wasn't too sure how this book would be since it had Minka (not my favorite and she gets it good in the first book) but as you get to understand her predicament, your heart does start to melt. It took me a while to get to like Minka but by the end of the book, I was rooting for these two. Nick is kicked out of his family for killing his Uncle. But as the book progresses ...more

Niccolaio Andretti: A Mafia Romance Novel

By: Parker S. Huntington
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, D. C. Cole
Series: The Five Syndicates Series, Book 2

Parker S. Huntington is a masterful creator of slow burn, enemy to lover romance! This book had a different vibe than “Asher Black”, the 1st book in the series, but it was just as great. Niccolaio & Minka’s lives have not been the easiest of one, as their stories unfold and you learn

Wow!!! You've done it again and somehow upped yourself, Parker! This book was amazing!! At first I despised Minka! Like, grrrrrr!! Haha. I was looking forward to reading about her gold digging ways and getting hurt in the process. THEN, she had to pull at my heart stress when it came to her sister. Suddenly I found myself rooting for her. By the time I got to know more about Niccolaio, I was already in love with him, lol. Niccolaio Andretti is the second book in the The Five Syndicates series. This mafia romance novel was fast paced, exciting and so engrossing I could not put it down. I loved Asher Black and was so excited for Niccolaio's story which took a different turn I was so not expecting.
Niccolaio and Minka was an interesting pairing yet they suited each. Both having to make sacrifices for the ones they loved, they were complex and flawed we learn so much about their pasts in this story. I did not like

A New Author to follow!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I thought for sure after reading book one that I would hate one of the character that moved on to book two and became a primary character. Can anyone guess? She's female and such a btch. Yes, were talking about Minka Reynolds. But Ms. Huntington did us readers right and made her tolerable and more understanding. We find out her background and why she is like she is.
