Gabriel Bergmoser presents a masterful adventure that transports Boone, and the far too clever and feisty Promethia Peters, out of the English proverbial pan (with a death sentence on his head), into an 1884 wild west fire where the duo are roped into rescuing the residents of a small Texan town. Had the pleasure of reading this in its earlier version, so I am unashamed in my bias towards the series, but Boone's second outing has even more adventure than the first and was successful in cementing Promethia Peters as my favourite character.

It's nominated in Readings Best Young Adult Book Prize for 2017, so get yourself a copy to stay ahead of the curve!

Boone Shephard convinced me to follow his adventures right from the first page of the first novel, and this sequel was a treat. I have found Boone's American Adventures to be as fun, funny, thrilling, and touching as ever. The new characters introduced are strong enough to deserve their own spin-off series, and the bond created between the readers and the main characters leave us with a desire for more and more adventures!
