We were the classic fairy tale. William and Sophia. Wilphia. Love at first sight, high school sweethearts, married in college, constructing our empire one building at a time. He was the love of my life... until, he was gone. Until the sound of my heart breaking into a million pieces was the last sound I heard Now I have to build my future...alone. Or so I thought. Finding a new life was not part of the plan. Finding love was was not part of the plan. But my heart could not resist him. I, could not resist THEM.
Holy Hell this blurb didn't come close to doing the story justice, and Flutter brought me to my knees. So since my high emotions are running rampant, I'm not going to try and expound, instead, just going to describe what I felt while reading it. First of all, I've never read L.A. Corvill, and boy what a story to start out with! Her writing style has a huge TALENT in all caps written all over it, as she absolutely gutted me. Like snot slinging, can't talk, and swollen eyes from the flood, gutted me. As I sit here and type up this review, I feel my eyes threaten to leak again. And it's not all sad, as it's a realistic look at second chances at love, after life serves up the unthinkable. And the characters became more than just people in a book, they were like my real friends, and forever tattooed on my heart. I'm going to keep this short, as in all of my dramatics, because I'm an emotional wreck, I don't want to give anything away. Just know that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this amazing story with a box of tissues!
I had no clue what I was getting into reading this. The blurb made me intrigued. We meet Sophia in the middle of a nervous breakdown. The first couple of chapters of this book were so emotional, I don't know how I didn't have a breakdown. The raw emotions felt with Sophia by L.A. was amazing. You felt like it was your lose. You felt like you were living it with her. Then if you are anything like me, you begin to think of your own family and how you would feel if you had to go through the same thing. Depression is a horrible thing to feel. Its a black hole that digging out can sometimes never been seen.
Matias is a very interesting person. He loves women, he loves his business, and he very upfront. He doesn't hide who he is. He meets Sophia when she moves into his building. She is in the process of building a new life, whatever that is. Next thing he knows he is over hills infatuated. The chemistry with these two was amazing. I loved how patient Matias was with Sophia. I loved how we are brought onto this journey with them.
Finding love a second time in a lifetime is a wonderful experience and I am thankful Sophia was able to dig herself out of the hole and begin to piece herself back together. L.A. did not cheat us of the emotions that dig through Sophia and her circle of family and friends. We get to see them have real powerful conversations.
Wow I am totally blown away!! This is the first time I have read any of this author’s work, and my word, what a storyline to start with! I have been left totally gutted, and in my opinion this is the best that I have read this year. The 5 star rating just does not do this novel the justice that it deserves, as this is one of those stories which remain with you even when finished. This is a beautifully written story which flows seamlessly, and with twists & turns and action throughout. Be warned plenty of tissues are required! Hats off to this amazingly talented author, and I will certainly be adding her to my favourites and 1-click lists.
First things first, go to your nearest bulk store and buy all the tissues. You're going to need them for this one. Flutter is the ultimate ugly cry in the best way Book! Sophia's story will absolutely break your heart from the very beginning. I could truly feel the pain she was going through. Every heartbreaking piece of it had me glued to my kindle flipping page after page to stay with her. After my heart was throughly shattered that's with Matias came in to start putting it back together. He loves Sophia so completely through all of it. His patience and understanding was more than I could ever imagine having from any man. I just don't have words for how unbelievably beautiful this book is. Flutter shattered me then pieced me back together into something even better than before. This is a story that will stay in your heart long after you've finished and leave you with the ultimate book hangover.
While I did have an early copy of this book available to me, when I actually read the book it had been published, so I read the published version of the book. I think that was what was so disappointing to me. The story itself was okay but the editing and stilted language in parts of the book was awful. I am quite sad for the authors because it appears that they hired a professional editor but they definitely did not get what they paid for. In fact, I sincerely hope that the version of this book that had been uploaded was an early copy and not the final version. It was that bad. Taking out the atrocious editing, the story wasn’t bad. I could have used with a little more relationship building, both Sophia and Matias seemed to go 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye as far as their emotions. I would have appreciated a little more a look and a tingle to signify the huge emotional changes each character experienced. Considering the state they both seemed to be in when they met there just wasn’t enough healing or development for me to understand how their feelings came to be what they were. I also felt like we never really understood why Matias was as put off by the idea of love as he was, there was a lot of story there that was just missing, I would have loved to have understood his reticence. Flutter had so much potential, I really felt at the heart of the whole thing it was meant to be a profound and deeply emotional story. The journey that Sophia needed to traverse to find herself could have been completely overwhelming if completely fleshed out. I would have loved to see her really delve into her healing rather than just drug along by gut feelings and things going on around her. The majority of the book felt like it was just scratching the surface of everything the characters went through and I would have loved to have seen the authors really dig deep and delve into the real hard stuff that they experienced.
Flutter by LA Corvill is a standalone romance novel. Let me tell you this book gutted the hell out of me. After reading Flutter I was a mess. This is a emotional read, you´ll need lots of tissues. Meet Sophia Collins, she lost her husband and soulmate and is deep in denial, like DEEP in denial. She ´s not only broken she´s shattered in million pieces. And then is there Matias Duarte, her therapists brother and happily single. One drunken ONS leads to a life changing events. Like I already said, Flutter is a emotional read, a book with ugly cry capability. The writing and the story are great, I love the main characters and Í love the words. I recommend Flutter and give 5 stars. Thank you LA Corvill !
Wow this book really blew me away!!! In the Begining after Sophia loses the love of her life she really thinks she can't go on so her parents think a hospital will do her good! What happens when she comes out 2 months later and have a one night stand with a person no other than her neighbor... Sophia finds out a secret of her own will she share it and will she move on from her decease husband? This book wow it was amazing lots of twists turns and action!!!
A very sweet romance. Full of love and hope. There are some trying times in the novel to keep us interested and always in the edge of our seats, but the story is wonderful and romantic! Love the characters thoroughly and the way Corvill writes. Such an excellent story!
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.
This book was an absolutely, epically UGLY CRY! I read it in two days because there was no way I could put it down unless I absolutely had to. I'm really looking forward to reading the next project by this amazing author duo!
I absolutely loved this story!! Everything about it drew me in from that amazing cover to the blurb. After chapter one i was hooked. Only thing I had a problem with was that it needed a little more editing, but the story was strong enough to save the rating!
Flutter is a heartbreaking, angst read! The story is well written and flowed well. The characters Sophia and Mattias were genuine, and they showed true emotions. My heart hurt for Sophia. This is the first story I've read from this author, and I look forward to reading more of them.
what a raw and emotional read, about getting a second chance at life and love. Sophia is trying move on, to rebuild herself, she's not looking for love, but somtimes love comes looking for you. Matias is very blunt about what he wants, likes and being serious with someone isn't one of them but Sophia brings out something new that he likes alot . I hurt for Sophia and her lost and I hurt for her fear of loving again but Matias was so patient and kind with her. loved it.
I think this book has potential for being good but needs editing. Every chapter seems the same . I read to Chapter 11 and couldn't go on. The artwork for the book cover is catching.
I could not stand the heroine. Grief is a nasty, nasty thing but I felt her pity-party lasted much too long. Not only that, but it was not fun to read about how she refused to let go. Again, I understand that she was in a grieving process but I seriously just wanted to smack her. Instead I stopped reading.
I was originally drawn to this book by the cover. It was so beautiful and I had high hopes the story inside would be as well.
Sophia is suffering from a traumatic loss. She conjures up visions of her deceased loved one and all this has her family concerned. With her best friend by her she tries to start anew.
Mathias is the love them and leave them type. He loves himself way too much to settle down. One night Sophia knocks his world upside down.
Ok here's the hard part. I skipped a lot of this book and felt guilty but it was so full of grammatical errors and punctuation errors and heck name spelling errors. It distracted from the good story underneath.
If you can overlook these things then its truly a good story about the stages of grief and how you can go down a dangerous path but it's also about redemption. L.A. Corvill could give us a good story if only it was cleaned up a little more.
