An angry and frustrated Kate Davidson and friends arrived in Canyon Beach, Oregon to help Kate's boyfriend Michael to get a divorce from his wife, Gabrielle. He married her before he met Kate to help her stay in the United States. Gabby was afraid to return to Mexico because of domestic abuse. Gabby wants a large sum of money for the divorce. Kate and Bella find her body and Michael has no alibi. Michael is arrested for the murder. Bella and her animal friend add humor to the tale. Her actions put Bella in danger. Kate must work fast before she loses both Michael and Bella.
I highly recommend this book and series.

A great beach read. A cozy murder mystery that involves dogs, yoga, and fake marriages. The author keeps the reader captivated until a very thrilling end. The author did a great job of giving enough detail from previous books so a new reader of the series (myself included) could understand what had happened in the past. The descriptions of the dogs is as fun and interesting as the descriptions of the individuals. A reader will definitely connect with the characters. Also the author's words illustrated the Oregon landscape wonderfully. Overall, a good quick, enjoyable read.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

In this fifth Downward Dog Mystery, Kate, Michael, Bella along with Rene and her entire family including twin babies and twin dogs hit the road and travel to Oregon. Kate was expecting a proposal but then Michael drops the bomb that he is already married and that his wife is blackmailing him. Furious with Michael she shuts him out but when he decides to go talk to his wife the whole gang goes along. After one chilly meeting with the woman, Kate is unsure what to think. But then Bella later finds the woman dead on the beach, Kate panics, she knows Michael is going to the prime suspect. After a few deep cleansing breaths Kate and Rene team up to find out what really happened much to the despair of Michael’s lawyer, her friend, and her mother’s significant other.

I have been waiting for this book since I finished the last one, so I fixed myself a beverage and a little snack and settled in to read. A few hours later I reached the end and reentered society 🙂 feeling that time must have flown by. From the moment Michael told Kate he was already married I was sucked right into the pages. I was livid for her, how could he have kept that kind of thing secret?

The author took us on quite a journey to first track down the wife and then find her murderer, all while taking care of two infants and 3 dogs. I was kept extremely entertained. These characters are realistic, fun, smart, determined and very centered most of the time. I love the role Bella plays in each mystery. He is is a very special, caring dog that has a nose for dead bodies while being a true canine companion for Kate. Even this time when he meets a polydactyl cat named Mouse he adjusts and comes to love the kitty. Kate and Bella are so good for each other.

This story really hit me on an emotional level. I am not sure I would have been able to be as strong as Kate. She put her hurt feelings aside to save a man who didn’t trust her enough to be truthful and his first words after he told her were like a stake in the heart. This added to the mystery of who killed his wife made this just a compelling read. There were several suspects, a cop that refused to look beyond Michael, and a whole bunch of twists and turns until the truth is revealed. The author also weaves the yoga theme throughout the whole complex mystery. This story is so well written.

I believe to get the full experience of this story you need to read Kate’s story from the beginning, but with that said Tracy Weber has written this story in a way that it can stand on its own.

Kate Davidson is thrilled to be in a relationship with her boyfriend Michael. In fact, she expects to hear wedding bells ring in the very near future. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work out quite the way Kate had planned. The biggest obstacle being that Michael is already married and neglected to tell Kate about it.

Michael travels to Oregon to ask his wife, Gabriella, for a divorce. Kate and her entourage of freinds, including her German Shephard Bella, make the trip with him. Of course things don’t work out exactly how they thought it would. Gabriella is willing to give Michael a divorce, but he’ll have to pay for it. Pay for it with a lot of money! Money he doesn’t have.

When Kate stumbles upon Gabriella’s dead body, she wonders if Michael could have gotten rid of his wife in another way. Gabriella’s death is ruled a murder and Michael is the prime suspect. Kate believes in Michael and vows to find out what really happened to Gabriella.

As Kate continues her investigation, she learns more and more about Gabriella and Michael’s relationship. She’s not so sure what this means for her own relationship with Michael, but first she has to keep him out of prison.

I love this series. I never expected that Michael had a secret wife. I’m not sure I liked that twist, but I couldn’t stop reading. I just had to find out how it would all end. I was completely engrossed in this one.

This is such an entertaining series with witty and fun characters. I always feel like I’m re-visiting old friends. It’s an engrossing, fast-paced story with characters I’ve come to truly care about. I especially adore the lovable canine, Bella. I can’t wait for the next one.

Pre-Meditated Murder by Tracy Weber, is the 5th book in the Downward Dog mystery series. This is a cozy mystery that involves yoga, dogs, and a fake marriages. Tracy kept me captivated until a very exciting end. She is a great writer with her details from the other four books that help a new reader understand the past. I have read three of the five books and love the characters in this series. This is a wonderful quick read. I would recommend this series to my friends.

**I voluntarily read this ARC**

Oh my gosh that was a bit surprising. Kate managed to grow as a character between the books. I'm not sure how it happened, but I like the change. I also really liked how immigration was added to the story. It really made me think about how different situations might affect choices.

A Pre Meditated Murder is Book #5 in the Downward Dog Series, but this was the first book in the series that I have had the opportunity to read. Kate Davidson thinks her boyfriend is going to pop the big question at a special dinner but she discovers that her boyfriend has a big secret he's not told her the whole year and a half they've been together. Summoning up her wounded pride and at the insistence of her bestie, Kate agrees to go meet her boyfriend's wife when he tries to secure a divorce so that they can proceed with their own plans for a future, providing Kate forgives him. Unfortunately, Michael's estranged wife ends up murdered, Michael being put on the hook for the crime and Kate (and furry companion, Bella) digging for clues to save Michael's fate, thus ensuing a crazy caper with twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge of her seat.
I read this book in one night, the story was smooth and easy to follow for not having started at the beginning. Weber does a great job weaving the characters and their relevance into the story so the reader does not get lost, nor does the story lose its flow. Can't wait to start the others in the series!

Pre-Meditated Murder by Tracy Weber is book five in her Downward Dog mystery series. In this book, yoga instructor, Kate Davidson is looking forward to a happy future with her boyfriend, Michael. When a special birthday dinner doesn’t go the way that she had hoped, a secret is revealed. Michael tells her a truth that she never saw coming and that totally rocks her world. Michael is already married and now his wife has decided to blackmail him since he wants a divorce before she is ready. Michael thinks that if he goes to confront his “estranged” wife that he will be able to talk some sense into her concerning the amount of money she is demanding. Things go south when after confronting her, Michael’s wife ends up dead on the beach. Kate and her dog Bella are the ones who find the body and Michael is of course the prime suspect in the case. Michael of course as no alibi to account for his time during the murder, so Kate steps up to try and discover the truth behind how his wife ended up dead on the beach. This tangled web of deceit will not be an easy one to decipher, but Kate must learn the truth and quickly.
Pre-Meditated Murder is the first book that I have read by Tracy Weber, and despite this book being part of a series it can be read as a standalone novel. This novel is engaging, enjoyable and has quite a few entertaining moments in it. Kate is a fun relatable character who has more than a few issues of her own. She handles things pretty well when she learns that her boyfriend of over a year is already married. She’s obviously hurt and upset but she takes the time to take a moment to herself instead of flying off on him like most would have. She’s shocked by his reasoning for marrying a woman that he claims not to love, but there is more to the story. Kate’s friend, Renee, is a blast. I love how fun Renee is and how she handles most situations so well. I like how the author works so many animals into the story and that Bella, Kate’s German Shepherd, has more than just a few glancing roles in the story. I’m an avid animal lover, and this drew me further into the story.
Beyond a few editorial errors that I’m sure have been taken care of there honestly isn’t anything that I don’t like about this story. It is engaging from start to finish. When it comes to mystery novels, I am notorious for always trying to figure out who the killer is before they are revealed. The author does an amazing job at keeping who the true killer is disguised until almost the end, and throws a few red herrings at us in the process. There are quite a few characters with motives, but they are each distractions in their own right, while adding to the story overall. I loved it.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. This story is so well layered with the drama of the case/mystery of who murdered Michael’s soon-to-be ex-wife, to the drama and mystery of what will happen between Michael and Kate. Then all the multi-layers of the story as the case is delved deeper and deeper and secrets are revealed that various people have been keeping. It might be safe to say that I have a new author that I will be following. I am going to be checking out her previous books in this series, and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
If you are a fan of this author’s work, then I recommend you pick this book up. If you are a mystery fan and enjoy a story with lots of integral layers that keep you engaged then I recommend you pick this book up. You will not be disappointed.

I am so glad that I ended 2017 with Pre-Meditated Murder! During the first 4 installments of the Downward Dog Mystery series, I have become very attached to Bella, Kate and Michael, so the 5th book did a number on the heart strings over and over. Finding out the love of your life has been married your entire relationship can't be easy, especially not for someone like Kate. Finding her boyfriend's wife dead on the beach adds to the complicated feelings. It was pretty easy to convince myself that Michael was no killer, but I had a heck of a time figuring out the real killer. That's a good sign of a great mystery to me! By the 3rd or 4th book in a series or even just by the same author in different series, you can start to think through the author's thought process and pick out the killer before you've reached the end of the book. I really appreciate that Tracy Weber can give you enough really great suspects with valid motives for killing a person or framing another person, it keeps me interested in a series! I do not want to spoil anything for the other readers, but I suggest if you are emotionally invested in the characters of this series, prepare yourself with some tissues...
I highly recommend this entire series to anyone who enjoys a cozy mystery series with enjoyable characters and lovable dogs!

I received this book as an advanced copy from the publisher to read for review. Being given this book for free has in no way swayed my opinions or tainted my review.

I have loved this series from the beginning and this book stands even above the earlier ones for excellence and intensity. As announced in the blurb, Kate gets a shock when Michael reveals a secret he has kept throughout their relationship, a secret that she is not sure their relationship can recover from. The awesome foursome plus 3 dogs and the twins travel to his home town to address the situation. Kate's body radar is in its usual outstanding and totally depressing working condition but this time the suspect is not a friend or stranger, but the man that she loves. A lie, or a major untold truth, is more than enough to deal with but now in the midst of a separation of sorts, she must decide how far to work to reveal the true murder when Dale, friend and lawyer, insists that she stay out of it.

While the series is cozy, it has a much stronger connection with reality than most lighter mysteries. Watching Kate struggle, Michael's pain, and Bella's confusion feels as real as if it is happening to real life friends.

I received an ARC of Pre-Meditated Murder through NetGAlley. I always review books that I love and this one is outstanding. Thanks NetGalley and Midnight Ink for the chance to read Pre-Meditated Murder early, and thank you, Tracy Weber for once again creating a world and characters I love to visit.

A great way to end my reading year or start yours! A polydactyl kitten named Mouse claws her way into German Shedder Bella's heart as the dynamic duo of Kate and Rene chase down clues, tandem twins attached.
Starting and ending with romantic surprises, this yoga centric novel takes the reader to unexplored locations on a roller coaster emotional run. I was excited to see all our friends involved in this close-to-home murder mystery.
This reads fine as a stand alone but to get the deepest emotional reaction from this read I suggest you start this series from the beginning. As soon as you finish one book you'll ne calling for the next. You can't stay away.
Kate has been hesitant to trust but eventually allows Michael to capture her heart and her imagination about a rosy future. So when she finds out he is presently married she needs her yoga training to remain in a charitable frame of mind. When Bella gets the scent of trouble and digs up a body, we know things will get further complicated. Mysterious strangers, old friends with hidden agendas, and a cop with a strong bias against Michael, is there any way this can end with happily ever after?
Come down to the beach for a "working" vacation and help gather clues to solve what the future holds for Kate and Bella.

A Little About the Book
Kate Davidson is loving life with her boyfriend, Michael. However her world is turned upside down when Michael reveals a secret. He is already married and his estranged wife refuses to give him a divorce! When his wife is found murdered, Michael becomes the main suspect and Kate knows it’s up to her to prove the innocence of the man she loves. Can she solve the mystery and protect her heart in the process?

Stuff You Should Know
Sub-Themes: Yoga, dogs, small scenic towns

Can You Start the Series in the Middle: This was the first book in the series that I read and I had no problems jumping right in.

Marie’s Thoughts
I really enjoyed this one. Midnight Ink has the best cozy mystery covers! They are so inviting. I’ve been wanting to read this series for awhile now and I was excited when the opportunity to review this book presented itself. Kate is a character you can’t help but root for. I love the knowledge of yoga that is sprinkled through the book. I have fallen out of the habit and this book made me want to roll back out my yoga mat and make it a regular part of my routine. I have found a new series to follow for sure!

I love this series, and this is the best book by far! I love Kate, Bella, Michael and the supporting cast of characters. Just when Kate thought things were moving forward in her relationship with Michael, he dropped a life changing bombshell on her that put her world in a downward spiral. When Kate and Bella find a body, and Michael is the main suspect, Kate does everything in her power to prove Michael's innocence. This book kept me glued to the pages, and I couldn't put it down. I experienced a roller coaster of emotions, and I didn't want this book to end. Tracy Weber is a phenomenal author, and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

Although I have had this series on my TBR list for a while, this is the first book that I have read in it. I started the book and got so engaged in the story that I didn't want to put it down. I loved the characters and the setting, but also the story with its twists and the many suspects and possible motives kept me turning the pages. I can't wait to go back to book 1 and see how things began between Kate and Michael and what happened between then and this book. What a great series!

Review:

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there, watching all of the action taking place. I liked that this book took place away from Kate’s hometown, it added a little something extra to the story. And the premise of the book really surprised me and I thought it was clever.

The characters are well developed and well rounded. Kate is one of my favorite character in all of cozy world. She is strong, smart, feisty and loyal. But she also has a temper that she is trying to control and she has a beard phobia, that is not as easy to control. These things just make her seem more human to me. I also really enjoy her best friend, Rene, and I so enjoy the interactions between Kate and Rene. They have so many funny moments and I was laughing out loud through much of this book. And Kate and Bella’s relationship is so heartfelt and it should be the standard of all dog owners.

The mystery was well written and carried on well throughout the entire book. There were enough suspects to consider and clues to sift through and it was not an easy one to solve. Throw in some red herrings and twists and turns and even the most seasoned armchair detective will have a tough time solving it.

This book has everything I enjoy in a book: friendship, suspense, mystery and a wonderful dog. This is definitely one of my favorite cozy mysteries, there is not one thing that I would change about it. I cannot recommend it enough.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I would like to thank NetGalley and Midnight Ink for the opportunity to read and review this fantastic book.

PRE-MEDITATED MURDER is the fifth book in Tracy Weber’s Downward Dog Mystery series. I haven’t read the earlier books but suggest that you read it in order if spoilers are an issue. In fact, the entire plot of PRE-MEDITATED MURDER hinges around a huge spoiler for the relationship between the main character, Kate Davidson, and her boyfriend, Michael.

Kate is expecting Michael to pop the marriage question to her at the expensive birthday dinner he has arranged for her. After all, her best friend, Rene, saw him exiting a jewelry store with a purchase in hand shortly before the big night. Unfortunately, their entire relationship is about to come into question as Kate will have to use all of her yoga calming skills once she finds out Michael has a secret… he’s already married and his estranged wife is demanding a huge sum of money for the divorce! Things only worsen when Kate and Michael try to work things out with Gabriella and she turns up dead, murdered with Michael being the primary suspect. Can Kate uncover who Gabriella’s murderer is? And will their relationship survive?

Admittedly, it’s hard to get thrown into the middle of a crisis in a relationship with characters you haven’t met previously and appreciate the emotional struggle they are undergoing. Tracy Weber, however, does a marvelous job at drawing readers into the heart of the dilemma. Kate’s emotional anguish is palpable from the opening pages as we watch her excitement turn into horror when she realizes Michael has been lying to her.

And oh, how can I not mention Bella, the slightly neurotic German Shepherd with separation anxiety? I loved her antics, from her hatred of beards to her protectiveness of the over-exuberant toddler she meets. I want to read more of the Downward Dog Mystery series if only to see more of Bella!

PRE-MEDITATED MURDER is easily recommended for cozy mystery readers, particularly if you love animals.

Life, love and happiness on are the line for
Kate Davidson, yoga instructor. The book
creates a riveting storyline that grips the
reader from the first word until the final word.
There is deceit, betrayal, mystery, murder,
suspense, domestic abuse issues, immigration
issues mixed with intrigue in a puzzling plot.
The characters are vivid, colorful, mysterious
and very realistic.
The scenery of the various areas was described
so vividly the reader feels as they are there.
Come take a trip with Kate, her dog Bella, her
best friend Rene, Rene’s husband, Rene’s twins,
Rene’s two puppies and Kate’s boyfriend, Michael.
It is an adventure that will test trust, friendship,
faith and love.
Bella even manages to make friends with a
polydactyl kitten named Mouse.
An ending to remember!!
This is book # 5 in the Downward Dog
Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone
as the author weaves the past and present
together effortlessly.

Reading a Tracy Weber book reminds me of staring at a beautiful painting. So many things to see and admire and each time you think you see one thing, you see something else.

In Pre-Meditated Murder, I had this same feeling of thinking I had the crime figured out, then I would continue reading and change my mind again to another theory. I enjoy books that keep me on my toes and make me think. This book did just that. The setting was great as I’ve been to Cannon Beach and felt like I was transported back to my visit. I’ve read all of Tracy Weber’s Downward Dog Mystery books, and I continue to like the story characters, especially Kate’s best friend, Rene. I also absolutely love Kate’s dog, Bella. This story has all you need for a great mystery with a touch of humor and romance. Another great installment of the series and one you don’t want to miss.

I willingly provided an honest review after receiving a copy of this book.

Pre-Meditated Murder was a great find. My first foray into the writings of this author. Ms. Weber weaves the tapestry of her story in vivid details. Great characterizations, settings and a wonderful murder mystery. I am not usually surprised at who the villain is, but in Pre-Meditated Murder, I was. It is a great story.

However, this is the fifth in the series, and because I had not read the other four, I did feel a bit lost at times. I don't know the background of the characters and how they became a group. I know nothing of the heroine's 'dark' past, which is eluded to in this story. Although I haven't read the first four, if book five is any indication, they are great mysteries as well. So my suggestion to future readers is to start at the beginning with Murder Strikes a Pose. I, myself, am going to play catch-up with this series.

This is the fifth book in the downward dog series. Kate is mad at Michael when she finds out that the reason he won't propose to her is because he is already married to someone else. Kate and Michael, along with Rene and Sam and the twins, venture to Oregon to talk to Michael's estranged wife, Gabby, and convince her to divorce Michael. But when Gabby's body is found on the beach, Michael becomes the prime suspect. Kate, with the help of her friend, Renee and Michael's sister, Shannon, sets out to prove his innocence.

I really like this series. Kate is such a realistic character and is so fun to read about. There were many twists that kept me guessing until the end. I received this book from net galley for review.

My first book by Tracy Weber. I knew this was not the first book in this series but I decided to give it a shot anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to follow the story well enough without knowing any of the backstory and the mystery was compelling, though I guessed the killer very early. (I generally, though not always, do.) I also found the touches of humor in the story very much to my liking and provided quite a few laugh-out-loud moments. I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to checking out more in this series and by this author in the future. I received an ARC of this via NetGalley and have decided to voluntarily provide my honest opinion in a review.

Pre-Meditated Murder by Tracy Weber is book five in her Downward Dog mystery series. This book can easily be read as a stand alone and I do highly recommend the entire series.
Thank you with gratitude to the publisher and author for the opportunity to review this book. My opinions are my own,.
I have read this entire series and found each book to be equally delightful and fun to read. I love the winning well crafted combination of yoga, a beautiful location and and the protagonist wonderful dog . Each book is a excellent well crafted sleuth that always keeps me guessing. I love everything about this wonderful series.

This next in series has our favorite protagonist Kate Davidson and yoga instructor at a posh dinner with her boyfriend Michael. She is expecting a proposal and instead he admits his dirty secret , he is married. She is very upset but his revelations do not end there. He is being blackmailed by his wife and unable to divorce her as a result. When the wife turns up dead, and Kate finds the body while walking her dog, Kate is on the case to clear his name and hopes they can move forward. She is exceptional at investigation and this case soon proves to be more complicated then she expected.
The location in this next in series was exceptional . The author had placed this book in beautiful Cannon Beach Oregon and her descriptions of life in Cannot Beach are sublime. The reader feels they are actually at Cannon Beach. I enjoy reading about Bella the dog and her enthusiastic energy which adds to each book. I enjoyed the twist and turns of the sleuth that kept me guessing to the very end. The added bonus of each book is information on Yoga and mindfulness which gives the reader a well rounded enjoyable reading experience while teaching us calming breaths which everyone benefits from. I love this series and look forward to the next in series. Well done to the author!

PRE-MEDITATED MURDER by Tracy Weber
The Fifth Downward Dog Mystery

Kate Davidson, a former commitment-phobe, is finally ready to settle down and is thrilled when she thinks that Michael's fancy special evening out is a prelude to a marriage proposal. Unable to hide her disappointment when he didn't propose Michael admits the truth; he couldn't marry her as he was already married!!!! Michael says he only married Gabriella so that she could get a green card, but she won't grant him a divorce unless he pays her off-with money he doesn't have. When Michael decides to meet Gabriella in person, he's accompanied not only by Kate and Bella, but Renee, Sam, the twins, and the two puppies. What could go wrong with this support group by his side? A lot. Now Michael's suspected of Gabriella's murder, and although Kate was ready to kill him herself, she'll do her utmost to prove his innocence.

PRE-MEDITATED MURDER is a compelling read. Expectations of love are challenged and explored in this multilayered mystery. Fundamental beliefs in people are put to the test and certainties become doubts. Will love survive?

This fifth Downward Dog mystery tackles difficult subjects of domestic abuse, immigration, and more. However, the book isn't weighed down by these weighty subjects, not does it become a pulpit. Rather it engulfs these topics into Kate's world, and they play important roles in the mystery itself.

Bella's charm, humor from new mom Renee, and a cast of characters from Michael's past combine to make a murder mystery that will forever change Kate and her future.

“I stood completely still, but the world swirled around me like a surreal merry-go-round, as if I were an audience to my life versus a participant.”

The carousel that is Kate Davidson’s life is about to kick into overdrive as she and her partner Michael reach a turning point in their relationship. Will he, or won’t he. In the end it all comes down to that. Until it comes out that he hadn’t been entirely forthcoming in the fact that he had some baggage... he was encumbered... with a wife ...in name only he kept trying to reassure Kate, but knowing her boyfriend, could she trust that statement?

The blowup between them affects everyone: their friends Rene and Sam, along with the twin and the labradoodles... Michael’s sister and his friends back in Cannon Beach. Who can they believe? There are as many sides to this as grains of sand on the beach. And then, Bella finds Michael’s wife’s body buried in the sand. That seems to be the last straw as Kate sees potential perpetrators all around as Michael becomes the obvious suspect in the police’s focus. But, did he do it? Can Kate trust him to be truthful? And can they rebuild the life they have together.

Tracy Weber continues to amaze and delight with the next chapter in the saga of Kate and Bella. In true form, she weaves yogic truth into what might at first seem a tangled mess, entertaining as well as enlightening the reader as her characters take a convoluted walk on the wild side yet again. This whole series is wildly entertains and recommended.

Pre-Meditated Murder by Tracy Weber, the fifth book in her Downward Dog Mystery series was a wonderful story. This cozy mystery series involving yoga, dogs, and friends is one of my favorites. I love following Kate, her dog Bella, her boyfriend Michael, and their all of their support network of friends and family as they solve a variety of murders. Now that Kate is ready for marriage Michael drops a surprise on her, making her question everything she knew about him. When Kate and Bella find the body of Michael’s estranged wife and Michael is suspected of the murder, you know she and her supporting cast will do all they can to prove his innocence as well as find the real killer. Only then can Kate and Michael work out where they are going next with their relationship.

I really enjoyed reading this book and loved how Ms. Weber created Kate with her solving murder karma. Kate is written so that she stumbles on more clues than the police or detectives trying to solve the crime. Helped by her supporting cast of characters, or pushed forward by some, Kate proves to be a strong, grown-up Nancy Drew. Although part of a series, this is a standalone book. I definitely recommend this book to other readers and I look forward to the next book in this series.

A fantastic 5th book in this series keeps you guessing until the end!

This is a great series, so much fun and this episode is even better than the ones before, if that is possible, yet Tracy provides enough of a back story in bits and pieces that you can read this as a stand-alone. Kate and Michael are having a romantic dinner with Kate believing that this is the time she will receive a ring from Michael. But No...seems Michael has been keeping a very relevant secret which sends Kate into a tailspin. So the gang, Kate and Rene, Michael of course Bella Kate"s companion, German Shephard along with Rene's family and her animals head to Michael's hometown to straighten out the problems. Of course, there's a murder and it is Kate who discovers the victim which also implicates Michael. When Michael is arrested, it is up to the group plus Michael's sister to try and find out who the true murder is. A lot of twists and turns to this storyline leads you on many different paths and it isn't until the end when we find the real killer! Will Kate and Michael be able to move on together? I received a print ARC but the opinions expressed here are stricly my own.

Pre-Meditated Murder is book five of the Downward Dog Mystery Series by Tracy Weber, and the second book in the series I have read. Yoga instructor Kate Davidson finds (another!) dead body, and when her boyfriend, Michael, becomes the primary suspect, it’s up to Kate to find out who is the real murderer. I love Kate and Michael together, so I was really upset to find out in the first chapter that Michael was already married! This cozy mystery had a lot of twists and turns which made it a fast-paced book. I find myself saying more and more that I really was stumped at who did it – and that didn’t change for this cozy either. There were quite a few suspects, all with good motive and I just didn’t know who it was until the end. The cast of characters are all really likeable and seem like people who you would want as your friends. Kate’s dog Bella is also a great part of this story. I would definitely recommend this cozy series to cozy lovers!

Kate is ready to marry Michael and live happily ever after. Only one thing is standing in her way, Michael's tells Kate a huge secret. He is married to another woman named Gabriella. Kate, Bella, Rene and her family head to Cannon Beach with Michael to talk to Gabriella face to face about getting a divorce. All does not end well though when Kate stumbles upon the dead body of Gabby and all the evidence is pointing at Michael as the killer. Kate and Rene set out to find evidence, anything that will clear Michael's name.

I really enjoyed this book it was very hard to put down. It grabs your attention from the first page and holds it throughout the whole story. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good cozy mystery!!

I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley for my honest review.
