I don't usually enjoy military romances, but I fell in love with this one by Bex Dane. It's well-written with well-developed, relatable characters who you will root for. Best of all, Rogan is a sexy, powerful alpha who gets sh*t done without being a complete alpha-hole. Five stars.

The Plot:
When Special Ops commander Rogan rescues civilians from war zones, they're usually eager to get home. Then he rescues Vanity, who was kidnapped for ransom while serving a religious mission in Afghanistan. When Rogan learns that sending her home would mean placing her back in the clutches of an abusive fundamentalist sect, he helps her create a new identity, and Tessa is born. When Rogan grows to care about her more than anyone with his scars and his lifestyle should, he distances himself from her to let her build a life of her own.

Anytime I read a book like this I want to throw myself into the story- to be a part of this community and to see life as they see it. Rogan, is a soldier who does not feel he is right for a woman who is what he needs to almost survive. He didn't believe that he could have a second chance but he worked for that second chance. This is unbelievably sexy. I thought this book was very good and can't wait for the next. Bex writes cleanly and with much knowledge of the life of her characters and because of this you do easily find yourself in the story through the thoughts and actions of each character. I think this is a good, solid book one that I will end up comparing to the next to be sure it is as good as this one was. Can't wait!

Rogan has been waiting for revenge for Eden’s death but until then he works at Siege for Dallas and his brother. if he is not there he is out on missions with Tokoda and his crew.

Rogan rescues Vanity unexpectedly from hostiles in Afghanistan while him & his elite Ops unit are on a mission. Once they get back he is ready to send her on her way until he learns about where she came from and what she has gone through.

He decides to let Vanity stay with him until they can get her a new identity and safe.

Vanity who is now Tessa Harlow is now a new person going to college and trying to not make a move on her crush, Rogan.

Rogan keeps pushing her way and while gone on a mission she starts to go out and dance in the box. Rogan has learned while being one he wants Tessa but is it too late?

I really enjoyed learning more of Rogan and letting him have a second change. Tessa was interesting to get to know.

This is a strange book. The polygamy is a weird component, and how Tessa is also kidnapped by terrorists is too much to believe.

I also found the abuse by Tessa's father creepy and ugly, which I suppose makes sense, but It made me almost stop reading. It wasn't a big focus, so I skipped past some stuff.

Rogan is interesting, but even his story about losing his first wife is odd. The way she's portrayed as someone impulsive doesn't sit well with me.

So, their relationship is good, but the story around it is kind of whacky. No more for me.

2.5 stars. It started off so good and just went downhill for me. I found myself skipping whole passages toward the end. This heroine acted so young that I couldn’t even read about her having relations with the hero. I found myself cringing a lot.

Yet I did read it in one sitting. That’s why I rounded up to 3 stars. I might start on Zook’s book to see if it’s better.

Stopped at 52%. Good storyline, but I can’t stand heroines who act perfect, despite all the abuse that’s happened to her, Tessa doesn’t let anything get her down. I can’t stand perfect heroines!

Man, oh Man! I have fallen head over heels for Master Sergeant Rogan "Boggs" Saxton! 😍 Mmm...mmm... So yummy and swoon worthy, in that brooding Alpha male way, and then, something happens while he is gone on a mission and he realizes that... well, I don't wanna give anything away. Let's just say, he sends some demons home, and gives some ghosts peace to move on.

When he returns from that particular mission, things have changed, and and the sweet fragile Tessa he left, is one of them. Rogan has competition, and a new feisty "Sunshine" on his hands, and a threat closer to home.

I loved this story soooo hard! I loved the growth that took place in both MCs. The layers of their character personalities was so wonderfully evolved, I could sense each step right along with them. 💕

The secondary characters were just as strong and aided in moving the story along beautifully. I am looking forward to getting to know them better in the coming books.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys military romance, or a good love story where the female is every bit as strong in character as her male counterpart. 💋

Finding love against all odds

This was a great story that highlights the life of our men in the armed services and the people who love them. It shines a light on the abuses inside the religious extreme sects, rape, incest, murder, physical abuse. We meet Organ, a special opts solider on a mission to take out a known terrorist in Afghan. Although his target is not there, an American woman is being held hostage. He goes against the team and rescue her. This sets them on a path that each finds truths, learn new strengths, face some danger, accept unconditional love. He is harbouring guilt from his past, she is running from her past life. Can they help each other? Will they find away to a new future and love? I loved this book and all the characters, big, strong sexy men with soft hearts and strong women. I want to read each of their stories. Great HEA.

A well written, easy to follow, down in the dirt saving the savable, loosing hurt down deep. No room for love, family, friendship and most definitely no relationships. Rules; right now up to my chin in it. Everything you thinj you know, you haven't even tipped the burge. Its real, believable, har
d to handle and then its rock steady. Love soul deep and there's a threat. No way. Not on his watch. You are captivated from the first chapter to the very last word. Sitting frozen to the edge of your seat. Eyes focused cause you might miss something. It pulls you in and holds you prisoner till the end. Bex did an excellent job bringing this read to life.

This is the first book in the Men of Siege series and starts the series off with a bang. Well written with complex, likeable characters and a page turning story line. Fast paced and full of action and suspense. You'll love Rogan and Tessa. Rogan is a special ops person who rescues civilians from war and dangerous zones. He rescues Tessa and their journey is amazing. Two wounded souls who help heal each other. A great book that I received as a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

I loved Tessa and Rogan, the will they won’t kept me on the edge of my seat for a while. I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall at one point because Rogan’s character was driving me bonkers!


This had everything for me, Alpha males, seconds chances, a great story line and sizzling sex scenes. 


The only thing that disappointed was when I went looking for Men of Siege and there wasn’t another instalment to read straight away but I know how hard it is for indie authors, so I’m now following the author so I get notified as soon as the next book is released.

Good premise and I’ve a vague recollection of reading the prologue with Rogans first wife. Struggled with the plot initially and it wandered quite a bit and then picked up steam. Was a bit of a page skipper hence okayish

Fight Till You Find Joy. A phenomenally great read. This is my first read of a Bex Dane novel. Wow! It blew me away from the very first page to the very last. The joy I had reading it made me so happy. Rogan had a tortured soul due to losing his wife in Kabul, Afghanistan while he was fighting insurgents 4 years prior to the story beginning. Later he freed an American woman hostage in Afghanistan while still searching for Jericho who had killed his wife. Vanity Barebones now had to be known as Tessa Harlow for her safety! As she couldn’t go back to the dangerous polygamous, religious sect her father ran. Human trafficking of woman and children was part of this sect too. Before her mother died by her fathers hand she had told Vanity to find her Joy and to never give up. Rogan gave her the chance to do this and opened up her world. Now she had a new life, job and new ID. I loved this well written, intense page turner. This great book had everything a reader wants, innocence, danger, lust and intrigue. What a brilliant author Bex Dane is, she has such a way with beautiful, insightful words. The birthday card Rogan gave to Tessa made me cry to the point of pain! How does this wonderful author do this? The sizzling chemistry between Rogan and Tessa was literally palpable. I can’t wait to read the rest of this superb series. This is my honest review of an ARC I received.

The second book in the series and didn’t think the story, the characters, or suspense could get any better. There is physical abuse when she tries to get away in the parking lot to be aware if this is a trigger point. Talks about how best to go about exposing a cult of brotherhood that rapes women and children in the name of God as a church.

Rogan and his team go back to Afghanistan on a mission and accomplish part of what they want but intelligence was not correct. But, found an American hostage no one knew anything about. When he returns on the helo with her the guys are upset thinking he is trying to make up for his dead wife.

But on the return flight, they hear her story they know they can’t even return her to her family due to these so-called church practices. She didn’t die in the terrorist hands but it doesn’t mean she may not die at the hands of her own family. So, Rogan takes her in and it doesn’t take long for him to become attached and protective.

But his heart still belongs to Eden/Violet. But in a dream he has from her she gives him her freedom to move on from her as his wife and to love again, also his for this thirst for revenge. But, he knew that Jericho and his followers would never stop coming for him and his friends and family if he didn’t eliminate him and the top layer.

He and the Delta men as well as the Monroe boys become her family plus Cyan and Tori. It May not be blood but was chosen which in this case is much better. This book moves fast, a lot happening, with many characters but you never notice because it all flows effortlessly. A must-read. A kindle unlimited book.

Vanity (Tessa) is a strong young woman dismight her past & current situation.
This starts literally in the heat of action. Rogan rescues Vanity unexpectedly from hostiles in Afghanistan while him & his elite Ops unit are on a mission. Vanity who has had a traumatic upbringing, now she's been kidnapped in Pakistan while on a cult mission. When Rogan looks into her background, he's not happy with finding out about the cult she was brought up in.
Rogan with help from Brock, gets Vanity a new ID, becomes Tessa, gets a job even gets to go to college.
While Rogan & his unit are away on a mission Tessa fears that he's dead because it's been 6 months. She catches the eye of an undercover FBI agent. Can she move on? Can she trust this FBI agent? Can she get him to get her younger siblings away from the cult? Does the cult find her? Does Rogan come back to save her & her siblings?
Such a great read. Couldn't put it down read it within a day. Can't wait for more of this series.

Oh my, how I enjoyed this story, I have read the series all backwards but now that I've read book one, I definitely need to go read the others again.

We meet Rogan and the rest of his team while on a classified mission and he finds Vanity tied to a bed in hostile territory. He just can't leave an innocent behind after everything he's been through. But Vanity aka Tessa is more than what meets the eye, this young woman is from a polygamist group that the FBI is looking into.

This story is well-written, and is told in a delicate way about the atrocities that befall the families in these groups. Tessa and Rogan are strong well-written characters, yes it takes Rogan a while to figure out his feelings and act upon them but when he gets his gear on, he is delightful. The storyline is fast-paced and intriguing. Loved it....

I enjoyed this book. I wasn't thrilled with the writing style as others have mentioned and wasn't and excited about the story as everyone else. However, I did not read Violet and am glad I didn't after knowing what happened to her. I am glad to see that Rogan did get his happily ever after though after what he went through in his life. I am also pleased that Tessa was a strong woman and stood up for what she believed in and did not sit back and take it like other authors do with their leading ladies.

Rogan is Book One in Bex Dane's Men of Siege series and starts this series off with a BANG!! I adored both Rogan and Tessa. They were perfect for each other. This story drew me in from the start and wouldn't let go. I wasn't able to finish it as quickly as I would have liked but reading it as a slower pace than I normally would have allowed me to savor it and be part of their lives longer.

I cannot wait to see what Ms. Dane has in store for us next with the Men of Siege!

Rogan and Tessa's story is beautiful and captivating. Seeing the struggle they endure to find each other and accept the love from one another was wonderful.

Rogan is all alpha but Tessa is also fiesty and strong and makes a brilliant female lead character.

I Loved this one!
It starts out with a Bang! Literally, action from the start. Rogan is part of a elite special Ops group. He is the commander, and while in a war zone he rescues Vanity(Tessa) who had been kidnapped while on a religious mission.
Tessa has suffered a terrible childhood. Her character has a strength that made me love her.
Her bond with Rogan is intense. Rogan struggles with the ghost of his past relationship. Tessa is bit like his ex wife Rogan is scared to make the same mistakes again. Tessa is an innocent, and could get hurt by loving an army man. Yet of course like any great romances they have to have each other. Hot, steamy love scenes!! Rogan is every girls fantasy and I loved every minute!! Read it you will not be disappointed!

He later finds out she’s American and helps set up her new life. Both of them feel an attraction but Rogan is resisting. Will he ever allow himself to live again? If he does will it be Tessa, the woman he rescued? First book by this author but I’m looking forward to more!

This story was about two people who meet in the most unusual ways. He was in assignment and she ways an unknown captive. He saved her. But what happens when her past comes for her? Will he be able to save her then? And what about his own past? Will he be able to open up for her? Will she be able to save him? This is a graphic military romance novel that has black suspense in it. Not for the faint of heart. Will be getting the next book soon.

Bad boy meets good girl.

He came to her rescue like a knight in shining armor. But this knight was a very bad boy. A special oops sniper with the military. She was a product of a polygamist sect, kept in a compound and would have been forced into all kind of terrible things if she hadn't been sent to Afghanistan as a missionary and was kidnapped and rescued by Rogan. Sparks fly and Tessa's real rescue to life begins. I loved this book,hope others enjoy it as much as I did.

Forged in the fires of hell

War and betrayal come in many different forms and Rogan and Tess are in full combat. The fact that they both survive, although with wounds that can't be seen, set the foundation for this nerve wreaking, tantalizing story. Tess is a testament to true inner strength and Rogan, even when I wanted to give him a good hard kick to the ass, is the epitome of an alpha hero. I look forward to more of this series by Bex Dane.

Fantastic Book!

I love this book!
I Love Rohan and Tessa’s story!
They make a great couple! They go through a lot but love wins out in the end!
Bex Dane has written a fantastic story!
It grabbed me from the beginning and held my attention until the end! I couldn’t put it down!
I love this book and I am excited to get the next one in this series!
