This is one of those books I read and then needed a few days to digest.... Even after that, I am still a little unsure about how I feel.

The story is about a race of genetically modified vampires known as Kan Asma who originated in Eastern Europe but were driven out and now reside mostly in West Hollywood, California. The male main character is Gunnar, and he is a warrior whose main responsibility is to protect one of the members of the royal family that he also calls a friend. The ma

This book was generously gifted to me by the author, Christa Paige, due to our longstanding friendship. Just kidding, I basically begged her for it and am so happy that she obliged!

With so many books out there in this genre, it's hard for a story stand out, but Mated in Treason is one of my favorite PNR books that I've ever read. The vampire world constructed here is unique to anything else I've come across for many reasons; one of them being that in this world (the world of Kan Asma) you can't

‘Slavery came in many different walks of life. Love played no part in the way his people became bound. It was simply biological.’

We were in the mood for a paranormal, a vampire romance with bite and passionate heat, and that’s exactly what we got. Christa Paige is a new to us Author and she definitely wowed us with her world building and the Kan Asma Vampires, with their archaic and class divided traditions, this despite them living in modern day America. REVIEWED BY SINÉAD MCKENNA for Emerald book reviews

Mated in Treason by Christa Paige was completely unputdownable. I inhaled this book within a day of opening the first page. Cover to cover it read so well with genuine uniqueness not often found in the genre that has seen pretty much everything. The Kan Asma aspect was really intriguing in itself and stunningly well thought out. The history buff in me preened at the detail. I loved the forbidden romance between Gunnar and Nadia. Their instant a

8 days after reading the final page of this book and I am still undecided on my feelings about it. I cannot say that I didn't enjoy the book. I read it rather quickly and I didn't face any major difficulties while reading it. I didn't like the Turkish words the author used though. I am not familiar with the language and I find it annoying to have to go back and forth in a book to check the glossary. That's on me to be fair. The author has included a glossary in the beginning of the book with the ...more

Gunnar a vampire and bodyguard, has been hurt and is in the hospital which sucks, to make it worse his nurse is hot and she is off limits.

Nadia is a nurse, she lives among humans but her life is different, there's no dating for her - she has to wait to be matched by the mating council in a goblet ceremony. She won't be mated to someone out of her social bracket..... Yes, it's not PC that's for sure, but these are vamps and have their own ways.

Theirs is a Forbidden romance so along with their lon

This was a first read for me of this author and I am ever so glad that I was recommended to her books! While I didn't start with the first few characters stories (though I wish I had) it wasn't too much for me to follow. Some authors will write series and not explain anything from prior books, and some will tell the side characters entire life stories but this was a perfect medium of both sides. While yes there were some parts I wish had more in depth explanation about I was able to find out (by ...more

I read Enduring Bond first, and vampires finally made sense. Yes genetically engineered humans made sense. Thank you Christi for awakening my perceptions. The story is no different to what scientists have done to mankind throughout life. Highly recommended read. Thank you for allowing me to read your work. Glad to discover a great author

You have to read this !!! A new breed of vampire is out ! Great world building and super characters that you either love, hate, root for or want taken down a peg or two. Interesting storyline that captivates and holds your attention. Plenty of action and dangers abound within these pages along with a sweet but steamy love story that you don't want to miss. I am voluntarily reviewing this book without compensation. I Loved it !!!

Mated In Treason by Christa Paige is book one in the Kan Asma Vampires series. Ms. Paige has created an amazing and unique take on the vampire world. Well written and engrossingly detailed. this book will ensnare you from the start. Focusing on the forbidden love between low-born, caring and sweet nurse Nadia and kraliyet bodyguard Gunnar. The law and rules will push them to their limits as they are forced to fight for their HEA. Filled with a great cast of secondary characters, I can't wait for ...more

When I first started reading this I really couldn't get into it for a couple of chapters but I persevered and I'm very glad that I did.
I enjoy reading paranormal books and this was no exception.
This was a lovely love story between Gunner and Nadia and the passion and determination between these two to be bonded was lovely to read.

Entering into the world of the Kan Asma is a thrilling and intense experience. It's amazing that Christa Paige could create an entire society hiding in plain sight in the large metropolis of Los Angeles. I absolutely adored Gunnar, the loyal and honorable bodyguard, who would give his life to protect his "family", especially his boss, Traian. The sweet nurse, Nadia, is the best medicine for Gunnar and watching their love story enfold was endearing, as well as smoldering.

Hot, steamy vampire romance!
The chemistry between Gunnar and Nadia is off the charts. The Kan Asma world is unique among the vampire genre. With special talents, these males are pure alpha when it comes to their females.
If you're a fan of of paranormal, you'll love this book!
Well written, a rarity these days, Christa's work is miles above some of the poorly edited books I've seen lately.

At first i wasnt sure how i would feel about these Vamps. The list of Turkish words at the begining was a little daunting, but I love a book that can pull you in as deeply as this one, and teach you something with out even trying. Just enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat, and steamy enough to have you looking around making sure no one is watching you blush. A great first book for this series, can not wait for the next!

It's a rare treat in this genre to find such a well-crafted story, packed with vivid details and multi-faceted characters. The Kan Asma vampires offer the reader a completely new twist on the "typical" vampire world. Christa Paige has gone above and beyond in this paranormal love story. She's created a history of these people, believable settings and characters you will cheer for, fall in love with, and empathize with their struggles. In Mated in Treason, the love story between Gunnar and Nadia ...more

This was a very good first book. It's the type of Vampire novel I like, where you have a race of Vampires living in a human world but living in their archaic system. Of course with Nadia growing up and seeing how the humans live she wants to pick her own mate for love, not because they're a blood matches.

I admit it didn't hook me straight away but now I cannot wait to read more. I loved the way Christa was able to bring enough of the back story into the first book to peak your interest, without

Fast read didn't feel like a 400 plus page book
The beginning was a little confusing because of all the new words
Dealt with it and moved on
Nadia (MC) was a times annoying, got over that as well and moved on
Middle was great!
Towards the end I was like WTF, give the man some meds!!
Also towards the end felt a little over the top with the your mine I'm yours I love you no I love you more blablabla

Continue the series.... Maybe.

I won this book through a contest. I really enjoyed the book. I give it more of a 3.5. Very different view on vampires and it just didn’t work totally for me. The story was laid out nice and flowed well.

While I was intrigued by the premise, I found the writing difficult to sit through and ended up unable to finish this one. The beginning could not grab me, and skimming ahead still was unsuccessful. 2 stars for the premise and the few hot scenes I did skim through.
