Another Lowery Women title that introduces us to Nora Bradford in Atlanta right after she learns that her 18-yr-old daughter is pregnant. Not exactly what Nora was expecting after Becky goes away to college. We also watch, with amusement, when Nora runs into an irate guy in the produce section of the grocery store in Gallant Lake. That guy is Asher Peyton, a hunk, really hot, but also very very angry. About whom we don't learn until a bit later, but it's a stunner!

When Nora decides she can't

This is the second book in this series. Nora is a list maker. Her life has not been very good. Her ex husband left her for one of his many hook ups. But after he died she left hiding his lifestyle from their daughter. But when life gets worse she moved to another state. It so happens to be the same town as her newly pregnant daughter and her boyfriend. When it comes to light that her Next door neighbor is the father to the boyfriend things get rocky. Nora is a planner. So when it looks like the scandal her late husband was in is going to come out, she decides to leave town. And where better to go but north to the town her daughter, who is pregnant at 18, is going to college. She buys a coffee shop, meets the truculent guy with a furniture shop next door, (and the father of the baby’s father!) and as she falls in love with him has her life spinning. Lots of emotions as they all try to figure things out. Very good book, that I won in a contest ...more

This was a heart-warming story about a woman trying to rebuild a solid relationship with her daughter and a man trying to keep his son from making a mistake, while at the same time they fight their attraction to each other. Lots of angst and conflict, but with a happy ending.

I write the same kind of romances I like to read – stories about characters facing real-life challenges with real-life consequences. The stories are emotional, but still have humor, and love always finds a way to pull the characters through together.

I live in coastal North Carolina with 100 pounds of dog and 200 pounds of husband – my slice of the bed is very small. When I’m not writing or reading
