Grace Wade, business diploma in hand, is back home to pay a debt. Unfortunately, this means also having to deal with the demons from her past, particularly one handsome devil who has always taken great pleasure in watching her fail.
Tried and true cowboy Mac Palmer has waited four long years to set the record straight. He was neither responsible for his brother’s betrayal of Grace nor for the dissolution of their engagement. There's just one complication, the headstrong woman is as unwilling to admit the facts today as she was back then.
A flirt, a dare, and a stubborn cowboy—Grace should have known Mac would never back down, but why does she care? Could it be she’s actually falling for the impossible man…again?
Amity Grays is an accountant by day, romance writer by night. She lives in Southern Idaho with her husband and her two daughters. She found her destiny at twelve, though she didn’t recognize it until much later. She followed her friend into a used bookstore and walked out with a bag full of Harlequins. She soon fell in love with everything Romance. Her passion for writing came later, her fascination with history, later still. Today she walks through bookstores and embraces the haunting scent of imagination and history captured in print. Ideas strike from all different corners of her life and always out of the unexpected—a song playing, a car passing, a stranger’s expression or the inescapable allure of a mystery unsolved.
Anyone that reads my reviews can tell you I adore my second chance romances. This second chance was a sweet contemporary romance. It was a pleasure to read this story.
I had to read the author's bio TWICE. She's an accountant. That's good with numbers. I can attest after reading this, she is good with both words and numbers.
This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and /or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
A pleasant surprise for an author I hadn't encountered yet, and a story with warmth. Throw in a sexy cowboy and a sassy woman and you have the perfect story to steal your heart. I literally couldn't put the book down, having found myself invested in the outcome of the electrical pull between Mac and Grace.
Mac and Grace's story captured my heart from the moment I begun reading it. Grace's heartbreak took her on an emotional journey of obstinate denial in her self worth and ability for others to love her and never leave her. It took Mac to help her finally see herself and find her heart, but at the same time recognize her in his own life.
The banter between Mac and Grace was priceless, her snarky comments were met head on by his own laid back drawl that drove her crazy. Their lighthearted moments together were truly endearing, over shadowed only by their chemistry.
The characters had me laughing at, crying for, and cheering on their triumphs. I hated to have the story end, and leaving Buster’s Prairie behind.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Grace is back to pay a debt to her grandfather and if she could survive the next two year is will be a miracle. Can she get through this and help her granddad or will she be on the run again? Mac has her back on the ranch but he's not sure what to do with her she is madder then a bull with a bee sting. Can he convince her what he did was for her own good or will the past just be to much for the both of them to find healing? I have never read anything my Ms. Grays and that is going to change I think i just found a fun read and a fun author. I really loved this book. It has so fun, so healing lots of friendships and lots of sass. I really enjoyed the small feel of this book but the big feel of the book to. I really enjoyed how the author just seem to let the words flow and it made it easy to follow it truly draws you into the story and does not leave you disappointed at all. I really loved all the characters and the feistiness of Grace grandparents if only we could all be blessed with them. This book has some and its a small amount of adult talk but the author didn't dwell much which made it refreshing. Seriously grab this fun read you will not regret it.
I received a complimentarily copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a wonderful book. It was so easy to read. It had a dual POV which I love. The plot and characters were believable. It was a delight to read. I was so sad to see it end. This was the first from this author that I have read but it won't be the last. The author is fantastic in writing romance. It doesn't need sex and foul language to make it. It has the wonderful gift of a romantic story to make it so. I highly recommend this story to anyone who is tied of the same old same old cookie cutter so called romance books. This is the real deal here.
This was a great second chance love story. Mac and Grace were a great couple, even if there was a lot back and forth between them... Mac was a very honorable man and definitely fought to be everythibf Grace needed. I found the background ranch and the love story between the grandparents adorable... Grace was a very strong minded character throughout the whole story, and I really loved the discussions between her and Mac :)
I very much enjoyed reading this delightful new book, by Amity Grays. The romance between Grace and the Cowboy was so well written. So easy to imagine myself right there! This is such a great book for romance lovers of all ages. From adolescence, to young adults, and even older adults, such as myself. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this very talented writer.
feel like I just left a movie theater for this summer's most romantic, feel good love story. This second chance (kinda) romance was a slow, sweet dance of unrequited young infatuation, followed by years of heartbreak and anger, leading to a renewed awakening of love. No better dance partners that Grace and Mac.
Grace heads back to the family ranch after a four-year absence. This isn’t Grace’s choice, but rather designated by a forced agreement forged between her estranged grandparents when Grace was at her lowest. The hardest part of this trip down memory lane is coming face to face with the one person Grace blames whole-heartedly the bitter betrayal she endured.
Mac Palmer has no illusions that Grace will be happy to see him, but his hopes that they can forge a amicable relationship and bury the past, is fast becomes a pipe dream. Grace couldn’t make it any cleared that she loathes the ground he walks on and resents the air he breathes.
But you have to wonder weather she protests way to loudly and if the sparks that continue to fly are really all steeped in distain and hurt. Mac and Grace keep the reader interested in their plight and anticipating their ultimate realisation that they were always meant to be together.
This was my first read by Amity Grays, and it was a wonderfully entertaining, sweet story of past heartache and insecurities with absolutely no sex! Based on that fact alone, I’m surprised this story kept my attention, but it really was an easy read with loads of sarcastic banter, moments of fun and lots of sexy cowboy smiles.
Anyone who likes clean healthy cowboy romance with plenty of sass from the main characters will enjoy this book.
I really enjoyed Amity Grays style of writing. Easy to visualize what she describes and in depth character development. Grace and Max have a history, and it’s not a good one. How are they to live and work the same ranch that technically they both will once own. Anyone who likes clean healthy cowboy romance with plenty of sass from the main characters will enjoy this book. If this is your genre it’s a great story. I give it a four as a very good read.
Amity Grays is a new Author to me, a well written, clean, cowboy story that kept me turning pages. I enjoyed seeing Grace Wade and cowboy Mac Palmer get a second chance. I recommend this book. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was my first story by Grays, and it was an excellent read. I’m so glad I have this sweet contemporary romance a try. It’s cowboy and a second chance. Cowboys I’ve read very few of, but most that read my reviews know I love me a good second chance story and sassy women. Heartbroken, Grace went on an emotional journey filled with denial and not believing she was worth anything. It was Mac that made Grace see the light. This is one of those stories that makes you feel like you’re the character. Give it a try. I’m sure you will enjoy
