I confess I hadn't heard of Durang until seeing one of his short plays at Holden St Theatres on Saturday night. The Book of Leviticus Show. Although this collection has a parody section, it's interesting to see it listed under 'political'. Oh yes. That election coming up.

If you are still undecided for whom to vote, do watch:

We get the idea the protagonist woman is really insane by all means. Her behavior is over any kind of critique. However, all that is just a pretend.

I won’t score it since I only read “Naomi in the Living Room” and I don’t want to be unfair to the other stories but I would personally give JUST THAT ONE a 4/10 I guess. Perfectly serviceable, but it was far too short to leave any lasting impact and it kept bouncing from what it wanted to be in terms of drama or comedy, just leaving me confused. Sorry

Read "Woman Stand-Up." It's one of the funniest things I've ever read. I don't know why, and I can't even explain it. Durang writes from a very painful place, but his happens to be comedic. Hooray for pain!
