Spirituality 103 the Forgiveness Code by Ivan Figueroa-Otero
Often as humans we are faced with occurrences that just refuse to be forgotten. Occurrences that stay ingrained in us for longer than necessary. The result is anger, hate and bitterness. These conditions can effectively get in the way of happiness and personal growth. If only you forgive and forge forward then all will be well.
Then comes the next hurdle, actual forgiving. This is a difficult part because most people do not realize that

"We must understand the real purpose of our universal voyage, which is a multidimensional journey of inner discovery towards the most remote locations of our self."

Spirituality 103, for me, is one of those books that you just wish was written in a much more easier context. Or maybe it's just me because I've started cold on this book for I haven't read the two books that came before this one, that I haven't completely came in terms with the author's writing style because it really took me some ti

This is a very nice book and an interesting take on spirituality. It teaches how to overcome the strife and darkness in one's life by using the power of light and goodness. Ivan uses a lot of metaphors like warriors of shadows and warriors of light to describe how to transcend life's hardships and find peace through the power of forgiveness. A warrior of light looks at life trials as an opportunity to grow and expand one's mind and horizons where a warrior of shadows shrinks back and loses out. ...more

Spirituality 103 was a learning experience and had some pretty spot on messages and quotes and meanings.

What you learn in this third of the School of Life trilogy is about the mind, the Warriors of Light and Shadows. How to metamorphose from the Warrior of Shadows to become the best you, the best Warrior of Light that you can possibly be.

There are instructions and even end of chapter questions that get you really thinking about life in general and your own experiences in life in depth.

Not my ideal read, however i was drawn to the title of the book and my new fond for
spirituality. It has a broad concept with room for many perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life.
This book felt like one very long motivational speech. A lot of "love" referencing but it was thankfully not overwhelming. A lot of the advice in this book feels very obvious but still great to be reminded of

This book isn't one to be read all at once. It should be mulled over. The words meditated upon as it serves to take us from the floor to the staircase. We are told to come up higher and become better versions of ourselves. It's truly intriguing. A great piece of art. ...more

Spirituality 103 by Dr. Ivan Figueroa-Otero is a practical guide into our inner world. Through the use of many metaphors, the author explains how our mind and spirit works and how it manifests in this life. This book helps us understand our ego, our processes, and the power we can regain by making all of this conscious. He also talks about the challenges we can face and provides information about different spiritual and metaphysical concepts, wisdom traditions, and techniques to help us overcome ...more

Spirituality 103 is one of those frustrating works in which you can clearly see the potential value of the content, but can’t quite access it because of a convoluted presentation.

Part of the issue is that the work is the third in an instructional series, so those who have read the previous works may already be accustomed to the author’s style. But for those opening the book cold, the writing is grammatically sound but stylistically cumbersome. Sentences meant to convey fluidity of thought inste

This is the third of a series of 3 books by Dr. Ivan Figueroa - Ontero and it is the only one I've read of all 3. I am looking forward to reading the other two because of the positive impression I had from this one.

Spirituality 103, the forgiveness code is a reflective self help book that will take the reader on a journey of deep assessment and introspection. The author does a good job in invoking conscious thinking about self and how you interact with others.

In Ivan Figueroa-Otero's spirituality 103, forgiveness is entitled to be the entire key concept.

The chapters drove me into metaphorical peace. And saying so, its words have consolidated me to ironically take into consideration moral of forgiveness and finding peace.

The usage of his great quotes were:

“If You Can’t Find Love Around You, it Is Because You Still Haven’t Searched Inside Yourself.”
And what I loved in the book is that in every chapter there's a worthy practice area to make sure the

If you want to find yourself this is your book.

To read this book you have to have an open mind and a willingness to learn. Also, it is meant to be studied not a recreational read. I read it twice to fully grasp what Mr. Figueroa presented.

This book is part of a trilogy. I did not read the previous two books. Although this, the book by itself gives you the tools to accomplish the goal of knowing yourself and make adjustments to live a more balanced life.

It is spiritual, not religious. The autho

Ivan Figueroa-Otero’s book Spirituality 103: The Forgiveness Code is the last installment in his School of Life book trilogy. After reading the book, I find the title misleading. Forgiveness – what it is, how to forgive, the process of forgiveness is not discussed in the manner I anticipated. I have taught theology and the concept of forgiveness. Figueroa-Otero refers to only one scripture passage about forgiveness – Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing – Luke 23:34.

Understanding that we are half-light and half-shadow is the first step to realizing that everything we do, think, become, all begins with balance. As said, “for every action brings a reaction,” we must make sure to think prior to making any form of decision. Whatever we think has the potential to be manifested into our waking life, so we must mindful of our thoughts. In “Spirituality 103 The Forgiveness Code”, author Ivan Figueroa-Otero informs his readers that everyone is originally Warriors of ...more

Going through life’s battles demonstrates there is a constant, yet invisible pull between good and evil. Every decision we choose to make consist of whether it would be beneficial in enhancing our life or something that can cause more harm than good. Practicing mindfulness is the only way we can remain fully aware of our actions, reactions, and how we treat others. Author Ivan Figueroa-Otero’s book, “Spirituality 103 The Forgiveness Code,” encourages individuals to embrace both their Warriors of ...more

Spirituality 103, The Forgiveness Code: Finding the Light in Our Shadows by Ivan Figueroa-Otero is a spiritual book heavily laden with metaphors to navigate through the mind. The book not only uses metaphors, but uses scripture from The Bible, quotes from famous people, and other literature to describe people and their journey in life. The book’s main purpose is helping the reader find their light in the shadows, and shadows are the ignorance, and the light is our reflection of who we really are ...more

Spirituality 103, The Forgiveness Code: Finding the Light in Our Shadows by retired Dr. Ivan Figueroa-Otero, is essentially a spiritual self help book. For those seeking for spiritual guidance without organized religion on how to make oneself happier and more at peace, Dr. Otero’s book may be a good starting point for your spiritual journey. Although I appreciated Otero’s use of a narrative story to help break down his ideaology for the reader, I found his termonology overly confusing at times; ...more

Spirituality 103: The Forgiveness Code by DR. Evan Figueroa Otero is the third installment in this trilogy of books that explore the idea of spirituality. This book delves into Otero’s ideas regarding the self and specifically in this book the importance of forgiveness. Otero is particularly interested in Chinese Taoism and Buddhism. I received this book to read in exchange for an honest review. Here is my review.

It was the title of this book that intrigued me, The Forgiveness Code, but this book was not at all what I had anticipated.
I feel I might have been at a disadvantage because I have not read the first two books in this trilogy. Although I have read other books dealing with spirituality, I initially found some of the descriptions of the concepts and examples somewhat cumbersome and therefore confusing, but this could

Spirituality 103 is the third in a series of books on Spirituality that explain how to navigate life. Through elaborate metaphors and a deep analysis, the author presents a paradigm of compassion and forgiveness that would help to heal our wounds and recognise our light in the shadows.

I picked up the third book in the series, very enthusiastic about the fact that the book talked of solving our life's conundrums through practicing forgiveness, not only towards others but also towards the self. U

I have read through the book and now through the comments of other readers and share the same sentiments of Kate who also reviewed.

The Spiritual Guide to forgiveness by Mr. Ivan harps on the requisite importance of the need to forgive, which makes our emotions stronger and above all makes us heal slowly. This is explained through the different forces real and imagined of light and shadows in our minds. Basically, what gets to us and belittles us is actually what we allow grow and take root in u

This was definitely written for a more mature audience. I have not read the author's 2 previous books, so that could contribute to some of my confusion.

There were alot of good techniques and meditations included. Needless to say I highlighted TONS of notes! If you can sift through the parts and take what you need, I would call it a success. As I said earlier, I have not read the first two books, but feel a better comprehension would have occurred if doing so.

This book reflects a baroque kind of mythological approach to the notion of spiritual growth, which is vaguely familiar to me as a student of various traditions, including gnosticism. It is also the 3rd volume in a series and I read it without the benefit of the first two books, attracted by the word forgiveness in the title.

There are lots of interesting vignettes and observations in this material, but on the whole I find it confusing. The language overflows with the symbolism of a struggle of

The third and final book in this trilogy devoted to teaching one to live a truly spiritual life. I have not read 101 and 102 so going into this cold may give me a different outlook on it than those who have been with the author since book 1. I admire the idea of forgiveness and achieving a sense of well being and overall peace through the act of forgiveness. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the message behind it - that forgiveness is a key element in spiritual health, and our overall well-being. Though it was a little difficult to get adjusted to the authors writing style as I had not read his other two works, I enjoyed the methods he employs, such as asking questions, to make one think deeply. It’s not often we take the time to self reflect or even take the time to completely think through life lessons and questions. I loved his view of fighting ...more

The author explains Eastern spiritual philosophy in metaphors as it relates to life improvement. This book focuses on love and interconnected universe. It is a good addition to a growing body of books telling how to use the eastern philosophical thoughts to get life under control.
Those who have not read the previous books and not conversant with Eastern spiritual traditions (Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or Jain) may find the book difficult to understand in the first read. To make it more readable to w

The book was quite an experience. As I've never read the first and second books, it took me time to grasp and connect to the book. Also, the frequent link between science and spirituality makes it at times hard to decipher. Yet, maybe it was just because I was not accustomed to the way the author writes or deliver his message. Through patience and deep understanding, I was able to embrace this book and indeed, it was helpful and leaves something to the readers on a very remarking way. I recommen ...more

Do we really forgive or just conveniently forget?
The book is truly about what the title suggests. About forgiveness.
Usually it's the guilty that seek for forgiveness, but this book focuses on how forgiveness is needed for one self also. How we don't actually free our selves from the wrong doing of other and that affects our mental health and over all well being. It shows us that forgiveness is not only for those who seek also but also those who are forgiving.
