I am the thing that goes bump in the night. I am a liar, a protector...a killer...I am Noah Blake.
And now that she knows my secret, she hates me.
The guilt and shame I carry around is bad enough...But seeing the distrust in her eyes, that will kill me before my enemies do…
Noah’s Cliffhanger Warning: Ladies, I know you want to see the full package. But I have to tease you first. So I’m just going to open a few buttons so you can take a peek. And while you’re at it, hold onto your panties because I like it dirty. (The Shameless series unfolds over the course of three books)
M. Malone is a NYT and USA TODAY bestselling author, a RITA® Award winner, and a member of RWA's Hall of Fame.
She lives with her husband and their two sons in the picturesque mountains of Northern Virginia even though she is afraid of insects, birds, butterflies and other humans.
Since starting her indie publishing journey she has sold over a million books and her titles have hit the NYT and USA Today bestseller lists more than a dozen times. She also holds a Master’s degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized at how she’s using her expensive education.
This cover is OK. A little generic in my opinion but I can picture the model as Noah. It's got good composition and unique title work as well. Similar to book one so good unity through the trilogy so far.
Book two picks up right where book one left us hanging. Some truths have been exposed, and Lucia is struggling to come to terms with everything. Noah remains his tortured self but knows if he and Lucia are to have a chance he is going to have to let her see all his demons.
I enjoyed this one a smidge less than I did book one. Same great writing and fast pace but this one felt a bit like a filler book. We don't really get much forward movement on the story until right near the end. I also found some parts a bit repetitive. That said I am still really intrigued were this one in headed especially with that tease right at the end. I am also really liking the secondary characters, and I hope these guys get books of their own. Now I wait ever so patiently for book three.
This series was my first from M. Malone and Nana Malone. I don't think i expected it to be what it was. Honestly, i thought it would be a story about an alpha man (which it was) and a strong woman (that too) who hate one another but can't fight their attraction any longer, having to go through the biggest of obstacles of their lives, making it more of a dark romance than anything else.
4.5 sexy dreams
What i didn't expect was the laughter. God, i laughed so much at all the different antics that Lucia and Noah got themselves into. But i also enjoyed the story itself - my warning and two cents: read the first books in the series, even the bonus short story because they follow one another, making this second book (or third if you count the short story as an instalment in the series) more understandable and enjoyable since they follow one another. Don't be fooled, as it was with the first book, Shameful ends in a cliffhanger and i for one, can't wait to get all my questions answered with the last book in the series.
I loved Shameful even more than Shameless and now I need book 3 pronto! This story starts off right where Shameless ended with Lucia remembering what happened the night her brother was murdered and to say it puts her into a tailspin would be a understatement.
After Lucia memories returns everything just gets so much more complicated for her, she genuinely doesn't know who she trust anymore. Only problem is she has to trust someone cause she's not safe! Noah was really trying in this book to be Lucia needed but, he still couldn't explain his actions to her which left her more confused then ever.
I won't reveal any spoilers cause it will truly mess up the book and this is the kind of series that can be ruined with to much info.
Shameful answers some questions from book 1 only to leave you with more for book 3. It's filled with suspense, intrigue and a lot of twists and turns that will catch you off guard. This is not a standalone series and needs to be read in order but, it's a great romantic suspense series that keeps you guessing the entire time.
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
After the first book, Noah and Lucia are on the outs. Secrets have been revealed and he is not her favorite person, both for his actions and the lies he told for years by not telling her what happened.
Spoilers are all over the place on this one too, and it is clear the authors know this too, as there is not a lot of info in the blurb and there is a good reason for that.
The book held my attention and in this one, I was a little more able to relate to Lucia than I was in the first, as she starts to see the world a little more realistically and is a little more willing to understand that just because she thinks something is true, doesn't make it so.
The romance of Noah and Lucia is interesting. In order to keep it spoiler free, I am not able to say what happened, but I can say it is something that both need to come to terms with in order to move on. And, it is a big something. And, watching them work to come to terms with it is interesting.
And, then you have the 2nd cliffhanger. Admittedly, with the way the story has been written up to now, I expected it. Although, at this point, we just have Lucia's suspicions...but they are along the lines of where I saw the story going. Maybe it is a little predictable, but at the same time, sometimes a story really does lead in a certain direction, and this one absolutely does.
This is not a standalone, and you need to read the first to have any idea what is going on in the 2nd.
I recommend this title and am looking forward to the trilogy's conclusion.
Shameful is the second book in the Shameless trilogy and it takes up a few weeks after book one. I’ll start this off the way I started off my review of book one, and that is if you don’t like cliffies, this probably isn’t the series for you. However, the books do release within a fairly quick time apart from each other, so the wait isn’t too horrible.
I’m not going to tell you too much here, because there are lots of spoilers that I could end up giving away, but Lucia and Noah are back together again with questions from before getting answered and some new ones popping up! Noah and his team are protecting Lucia and I have to say here that I really hope that Noah’s boys get books of their own! As with the first, this ends in another cliffy!
First be warned... This is a cliffhanger & you need to read book 1 first! Just know that if you HATE to wait for the ending, you will be pulling your hair out over this series!!! And be ready for TWISTS that you don't know whether to scream or cry about!!!
Noah Blake is the man you want to strangle for being in your business and the one you want to love because he is just hiding the heart that he doesn't realize he has! Noah is good at everything he does but he can always use someone in his corner... He just doesn't know if the person he wants in his corner will ever forgive him and want to be near him again. Lucia DeMarco has loved Noah for as long as she could remember! But that love doesn't excuse the truths that she is now facing. Lucia is working through her reactions to Noah's secrets from Book 1 and he anger is increasing (as well as her lonliness!) Noah has hit a brick wall. Lucia is still his main priority and he has to figure out how to protect her without distancing her further. As he looks for these solutions, he finds more issues that need to be resolved. And it is time to revisit the past and figure out where things went wrong!
There were moments in this book that I just wanted to scream at the characters for the decisions they were making. No matter what Lucia saw, she still wanted to keep her independence and couldn't follow the rules for her safety (even after she faced the danger head-on!) He best friend, JJ, definitely would do anything for Lucia, but she also had no regard for Lucia's safety! That was probably because she didnt' know the depth of it, but it also made you wonder where their lives started to mingle... This portion of the story introduces us to new sides of Noah (and Lucia) and you start to love him more... Once he begins to open up, you start to understand him a bit more! I am hooked on Noah Blake... And just a note... While you are falling for Noah, you will also fall for his team!!! Bits of their characters come out, but you can't help but want more!!! Matthias is definitely going to steal hearts... Jonas & Oskar will have no problem winning your love!!! M Malone & Nana Malone have definitely created an awesome series... Hopefully the others will get their time to shine!!!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I was enraptured by this book it was overloaded with sass, charm, lust and sexual tension as well as being packed with mystery, suspense, twists and turns, secrets, surprises and there were elements of danger and that's what made Shameful one captivating read.
There's peaks into the past, questions answered only for more to be asked.
There's lots going on in this book a great storyline with great characters and it was brilliantly written the only bugbear for me is the cliffhanger but that's only because I'm too impatient lol.
Another great book from Nana Malone, I can't wait for Unashamed bring it on.
The second book, in this addictive, suspenseful trilogy, starts virtually at the same place the last ended.. Lucia's life is in danger and Noah continues to protect and care for her despite her animosity following the revelations from the last book...
What a gripping story....all the characters are wonderfully described with depth and complexity...Noah is swoon-worthy... he is overprotective and downright possessive but also clearly in love with Lucia despite her justified unwillingness to openly reciprocate....I also have to mention the men from the security firm with their banter friendship and loyalty and the important role they play in providing additional interest and perspective...
This is a thriller so there is the obligatory conflict and violence but what is particularly awesome is the humour that the author injects throughout the narrative adding light relief and another layer of emotional content.....
This is such an intriguing story the premise is original and there are so many unexpected turns ...layer upon layer of deceit and half truths are gradually being peeled away as the story continues to move at pace.... and the denouement, once again, ends with a completely unexpected and shocking cliffhanger.....This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...
OMG, Shameful is even better than Shameless! It's got more surprises and twists and turns, more steam, and more emotions roiling around. And damn, that cliffy?! Even more of a nail biting shock than the one in Shameless.
Lucia and Noah have finally come out and admitted their feelings to each other and their relationship is able to come out into the open. Lucia had to fight like hell to get them to that point, though. After she got over the revelation from Shameless, she realized she couldn't be without Noah.
"And Lucia knew this was what she wanted. He was what she wanted. She just needed to convince him that he wanted to keep her."
Noah fights his feelings, though, still thinking his past makes him someone not good enough for Lucia, who is all light and goodness. But, he finally gives in, even if it's unwillingly.
"I couldn't stay away from you if I tried." "Then why are you trying" she whispered. "Because I know the fire will consume us." But when he gives in and claims her, he has no plans of ever letting her go. "Be sure, Lucia. Because, if I have you, I'm never letting you go." She met his gaze directly. "I'm sure, Noah. I love you."
But, there's still someone out there trying to kill Lucia and Noah is more determined than ever to protect her. Just as Lucia is more determined than ever to get answers about what happened the day Rafe was killed. I like how Lucia finally got Noah to tell her more about his past, and even the day when Rafe was killed. Keeping secrets from each other is no way to get a new relationship off the ground, and Lucia knows it so she demands the truth from Noah.
"We established that I love you, and you love me. That means no secrets."
But, when Lucia finds out just what the truth is at the end during that crazy cliffhanger, she is floored and has no idea what to do with it. And it's apparently (maybe) a truth that Noah doesn't know, or at least a truth he hasn't told her.
Sigh...now I'm really annoyed that I have to wait for Unashamed in June. It can't come soon enough!
Okay, now we've got a story! While I was a tad bored with the first book in this series, Shameful kicks things up a notch and it made a huge difference. Not only do we learn more about Lucia's brother and what happened with him, Noah becomes more of a human instead of a robot. This review may contain spoilers for book one, Shameless and will be vague to protect the storylines.
"No. I don't want to hear about how you are protecting me. Blah, blah, blah. The same old song and dance."
Preach it sister! So the cat is out of the bag and even though the blurb says she hates him, I beg to differ. It was obvious there was more to the story of Noah and Rafe, soon we learn how much. While he is the man that killed her brother, there is still something about Noah in Lucia's eyes. Yes, he's there to protect her (which we are reminded of constantly, 61 times to be exact), but there's a little extra in his actions.
"I don't want to tell you any of this. I know how you already look at me. I know how you'll look at me when I finish telling you everything."
He tells anyway. Noah knows he needs to finally be truthful with Lucia if he wants to keep her. That means the money, the business, the guys around her and of course, her brother. Lucia knows Noah didn't have a textbook childhood, however didn't expect what he told her. Including the stuff about her brother. It's like she never knew either of them.
The book is well written from dual points of view and brings the story along nicely. There wasn't as much round and round with Lucia and Noah this time. I liked that more questions were brought up about everything and not all of the answers just yet. Nana Malone is going to make her readers work for them.
Shameful (The Shameless Trilogy Book 2) Kindle Edition by M. Malone , Nana Malone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a phenomenal story. It kept me glued to my Reader. This is the second book in the trilogy but the third book in series if you include the prequel. Believe me you will want to devour them all. This is one of those books that you will want to take your time to get to know the characters as much as you can. The characters are exhilarating, sensational, fantastic, and smoking HOT! The dialogue is exciting, loving, charming, and sensual! There is a lot of sparks, sexual chemistry and tension but fits the characters. The story will quite literally have you on the edge of your seat. The story is still about Lucia and Noah. But this story is just as hot and intense as the first two stories. The authors are so talented that they have up the antics in this story. Lucia and Noah dialogue makes this book have depth with exciting scenes. There is another shocking surprise at the end of this book that I think it will be a game changer. Even through you need to still keep your wits about you because things change as you read the story. I am really enjoying reading this series. This book has everything, it's intriguing, captivating and it will have you loving cliffhangers. . I have been knocked over by this story, trying to figure out what would happen next. This story is fast-paced, with a great flow which you won't be able to put down, it's steamy hot with drama, sex and you will thoroughly enjoyed every word of this book and I can't hardly wait to read the next book in this series because each book just gets better and better.
When noteworthy authors write trilogies and give the readers less wait time, we tend to become avid fans. So to M. Malone and Nana Malone, I salute you on this as well as making book two a gripping and suspenseful ride with book 1, "Shameless"!
"Shameful" picks up where "Shameless" ended and the dreaded secrets are out on who killed Lucia's brother, Rafe as well as Noah's former profession as an assassin. Now can Lucia forgive her devoted protector and more and they move forward to their happy ending or not? 'Forgiveness is a hard pill to swallow' but then new crisis's are right around the corner because now there is a hit on Lucia's life and she really doesn't know if she can move forward due to the years of deception by Noah. But Noah is an alpha male, very steadfast and devoted!
This book is loaded like a baked potato with this book leaves you questioning exactly who is the good and bad guys! More secrets are unraveled with even strange happenings! Just when you think you're Perry Mason (figured it out) well something else pops up like that masked man who snatches Lucia and says "Lulu" while that nick-name and the masked man's voice was only reserved by her deceased brother Rafe?... huh! WHAT THE HECK!
Book 2 ends with yet another cliffy but since aware of the wait time is this within June 26th, 2017 (not months or years) well book 3, "Unashamed" will be worth it!
So readers, if you like memorable characters, daring twists and double-take turns with suspense and smexy connections, well this Shameless series it it!
Take the weekend and read all three . . . the are even better together.
Wooooh. Woooow. Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhat.
This was on of those reads that you must take the time to get to know all you can as you go along. You need to start with the prequel. Then move on to the first, Shamless. Then step up to the plate and devour Shameful. This was all I could have anticipated and then some. I was wowed. I got what I expect from two dynamic authors on their own but together they set it all up for more excitement, more entertainment, more everything. Its dark, suspenseful, steady, and the characters are most certainly developed. You will find it on the shelf to be re-read over and over again. The were even places that you would want to put on your thinking cap.
Girl if you didn't know, you will soon find out. Noah has told you right off the bat that he is a liar, a killer, and a protector. Why, why would you doubt his words? Don't. I don't advise that course of action. Listen carefully to what he has to say to you and take heed. He tell you he is the full package. Well let me say, read onward and see all that he has to offer. Lucia has so much to overcome, get over and come to terms with. Noah knows that Lucia is his. He will do any and everything to make that fact known. Lucia just has to see it all and understand that Noah is all she sees and more.
Twist, turns, and cliffhanger. But stay tuned you will not be left disappointed.
The story continues with Noah and Lucia and their very complicated relationship. As Lucia is slowly finding out more pieces from the day Rafe was killed, Noah’s secrets are coming to surface and he’ll find himself forced to tell her things he never wanted to share. Lucia will go back looking for answers about her brother, who he really was and the things he was hiding from them and Noah will learn things he hasn’t been aware of that will bring an even bigger edge to the story. With the constant threat over Lucia’s life, Noah and the men from Blake Security will have to be creative trying to keep up their workload and taking care of the woman who proves to be quite a handful to all of them. I felt this book didn’t flow as easy as book one, but still is a great read with a lot of surprising elements and steamy scenes with the main characters. Noah suspects everyone and the confrontations with former friends will bring even more confusion to the web of deception surrounding the events of their past. Can’t wait for what I anticipate will be a great conclusion to the series.
3.5 stars *An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review*
Ugh! They've done it again. Another cliffhanger. But at least we don't have too long to wait until Unashamed is released. Because this was no more than an amuse-bouche of a novella. You know what I mean - just too small to fill you up. That was my only real issue with this installment - it felt like a filler with the only real thing forcing this to be a trilogy being the way this one ended.
That said, there was a reasonable amount packed into these pages - Noah and Lucia have a lot to work through. And again, it was the characters driving this rather than simply the plot. All the parts combine to make a decent book. But I wanted, no expected, more. Literally, more.
That said, I'm completely hooked. I'm looking forward to the next Noah fix.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Holy crapola. I didn't think it was possible to shock me after the ending to Shameless, but they did it again. Is it possible that he's alive? Or is her mind playing tricks on her?
This is so not typical of either of these ladies. The suspense just makes me tingle. There are so many possibilities that I can't fathom which way they will take the story. I need these ladies on speed dial so I can pose all of my questions and see how they react, since I know they won't tell me what will happen.
Is he alive? If so, where has he been and what has he been doing for the past six years? Who put the hit out on Lucia? How is the masked man getting past all of the security in place? If it's a true hit, why is the masked man trying to kidnap Lucia and not kill her? How is ORUS tied in? How are the Del Tinos tied in? How is the FBI tied in? How is this all going to tie together, because you know it has to somehow?
I could keep going on with questions, but I digress. Needless to say, this trilogy is thought provoking and captivating. Fabulous way to keep us baited and hooked. Now you just need to reel us in with the last book.
Noah and Lucia are back and the danger is increasing.
I love how broken yet perfect for each other these two are. Even though they have their differences of beliefs, they still have the same end goal.
The more they fight, the more they are drawn to each other and with Lucia's life in danger, Noah can't afford to be second guessing himself with her safety.
Things buried in the past don't always stay there, even if you think it's dead and buried. When this past comes to light, will they be able to work it out and find a happily ever after? Not in this book! It's only the second in a trilogy...
You have got to be Sh*****g me! That's what I said when I finished Shameful, the 2nd book in the Shameless trilogy. OMG, the ending is a real cliff hanger!
This book picks up a few weeks after Shameless ends. Lucia is coming to terms with what she's remembered about her brother's murder and Noah's role in her life. Secrets are slowly coming to the surface and the danger is getting closer.
This is a fast read and never lets down on the drama. The secondary characters are involved in the storyline more and the scenes really move. I cannot wait for the final book in this trilogy.
Oh man, this author is trying to kill me!! This is book two of the trilogy and it picks up exactly where Shameless left us. Now that Lucia's memories of the night her brother was killed have come back she wants nothing more to do with Noah. Problem is he can't stay away and most importantly she's not safe. Noah will do anything to protect her whether she forgives him or not. The action really picks up in this one and this cliffhanger leave you gasping.
Just a note, these are not standalone books. They need to be read in order. I highly recommend you grab your copies and get reading!
Yay! Can't believe I'm reading this. Tho we didn't have to wait long 😁
Chapter 1 really starts with a bang. Lucia has some very dangerous people after her and Noah (after Lucia finding out what he did) is trying to protect her!
There is so much to this book and has your feelings going threw jump after jump.
Great plot to the story and as with the first book is very well written.
Another horrible cliffhanger 😒 lol I can't wait for this final one
The draw of Noah Blake is he's flawed. He struggles with his past, his future and his heart like everyone else. He's just better at hiding it. That is why I am quickly becoming enamored with this character. Getting caught up is easy. Waiting for what happens next? Not so much. Shameful is an exciting addition to a mouthwatering series.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I've already read the first volume in the trilogy which I loved, and found the second volume even better. Twists, turns, suspense, surprises, lot's of passion, great story telling and fabulous character building.
Book 1, Shameless, ended with Lucia recognizing her brother, Rafe's killer and this book takes off from there.
Noah, who was best friends with Rafe, has always protected Lucia. He now runs his own security company. He learns that there is a hit out on Lucia and he and his team do everything in their power to protect her.
As they story goes along Noah and Lucia give into their attraction. Sometimes forgetting their surroundings with a hilarious unwanted audience.
Rafe and his team members have a family vibe to them.
As the story unravels we start to learn some well hidden secrets but you just now that there is more. Something deep. I love the intrigue in this series.
This book also ends in an awesome cliffhanger. I can't wait to book 3! I don't think I can handle the suspense much longer!
Intense? Yeah, you could say so. Triggers to keep you hanging!? Damn holy motherf.... right. FFS, I DID want to trow my Kindle out the window, just like the authors warned (**coughing** mocked) me at the beginning. I wanted to do just like Lucia. Kill Nana and Minx, reanimate them and then kill them again! You know, when a Series is THAT good (I'm stealing one reply of the book the authors will know WHY). They are responsable for my unstable of mind right now!!! I will grant them one thing: they are the geniuses of cliffhanging BUT ...... dont go all "I hate cliff so I wont read this" bla bla bla.... It'd be silly! You'd passed on an extraordinary experience because Nana and Minx just gave a whole new meaning to cliffhangers: How they are supposed to drive you NUTS but EXCITED, just like you get when you watch you favourite TV show! Because, lets be honest and truthful here: this Series is BRILLIANT! Its EVERYTHING you can want from into a story, if you're looking for than just sit around and go trough some pages to end up saying... oh yeah, it was good! Well... Here's what happened TO ME after reading both book 1 and 2:
"&+*%[= +=[^#¥£[=%# .... they can't do this. They didn't dared!! Holy &[$?#=%# This is so... hell its SO good. Damn I hate them! Jesssssus this is so.... arrfggg..... When the hell is book 3!!!...."
So yeah, if you're the type of reader that looks for THAT sensation when you read , if you want MORE... if you love characters that will drive you over the edge (hands off my Noah, he's mine). Then yeah, I innocently recommend THIS! Its funny, its smart, its triggering, its hanging, its hanging, Its hanging .... its SO GOOD !
Beside the fact they'll drive you nuts, you'll find a story that's so well orchestrated and where the plot is revealed slowly but in a perfect timing in addition of characters bigger than the incredible story itself (so that gives you an idea why Noah is MINE).
I loved everything and every bit of it. Except the authors : Them, I hate them lol. Well, just until book 3. Then I'll praise them for this amazing work. Ok... I'm pretty sure I might sound like I was in my review but I wasn't !!! They dont deserve it ... yet 😉. Yeah, yeah, I know : who am I kidding! Just... don't tell them !
The suspense of the Shameless series may overwhelm me. This review contains spoilers from Shameless. Book 2 picks up weeks after Shameless ended.
Lucia is angry, confused, hurt after remembering that Noah was the man who shot her brother. It doesn't help that he's not willing to explain what happened after all of these years. Even worse than that is the fact that she still loves him and wants him. Her emotions are a mess. Noah is devastated; he feels that he had everything he's ever wanted for a second, and then lost it all forever. He feels that this is his rightful punishment. This part of the book was a torment to read. These two belong together. It's impossible to imagine them with anyone else. The heat between them, the history; I couldn't stand the distance between them. Trust is missing. The sex is explosive but even more their love is even more intense.
This book is fast paced, full of drama and danger. Lucia's life is in danger. People around her are getting hurt, but she is the target. The attacks are chilling and deadly; the skill of the would-be assasins rivals Noah's skill and surpasses his team's. He is determined that she will be safe. No matter what.
We get some answers about Rafe, Noah, and ORUS, but there's still so much mystery. Noah doesn't share everything; his first thought is always to protect Lucia, but some things he doesn't even understand himself. We also get to understand Noah better and get to know his team more in-depth. They are all dark, dangerous heartbreakers. There is also a touch of humor thrown in again. This is so unexpected with the constant tension; makes it even better.
This book ends with a cliff-hanger that puts book 1's cliffhanger to shame. I think that it was fairly easy to figure out how Shameless was going to end even if you didn't want it to be so. That is not the case with this book. The ending is shocking. It will leave you gasping and wanting the final book. Sensational suspense!
This book started off after she found out the truth about Noah and her brother but we still don't find out why this happened between the two, instead it starts with her at the fashion show with her on the edge with everyone, agitated with everything. I felt so sorry for them both, she thinks "It was confusing to love and hate him at the same time but it was simply too ingrained in her to think of him as a protector to turn it off now. She was in a constant battle not to reach out to Noah, not to show her feelings to him, because how can she love the man that killed her brother. Noah was torn apart by this but I got so frustrated that he would not just explain what happened. Eventually he did sit her down and talk to her about that fateful day. I was shocked to hear what happened that day, and then more questions came to mind and what I suspected from the last book became even more plausible. It was so heartbreaking to hear how much Noah loved Lucia for years and never did anything about it. I loved all the feelings that came out when he revealed what happened that day and he told her all about his past, it was beautiful. There are still roadblocks in front of them though, what she wants for her future is something Noah thinks he can never give her. There is a part in the book where Lucia finds an item from the past and what it represented and how Noah feels about it had me crying. When they finally decide to be together he tells her "Be sure, Lucia. Because, if I have you, I'm never letting you go." Lucia tells him "I'm sure, Noah. I love you." There is a part in this book where Noah gets hurt and it didn't look to great at first. It was revealed that the guy that had tried to take Lucia before was not from Orus so who was it and now they not only had one person to watch out for but two coming after her. The ending of the book was so crazy, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and then I was saying to myself "I knew it"
When Lucia discovers Noah’s secret, the memories she has kept buried in her mind come crashing back. The man she loves has betrayed her and then lied about it for years; she should hate him, but even knowing what he has done, she still loves him. But the lies, so many lies and now her life is in danger; from who or what, no one seems to know. Noah is reminded of what he is, who he is and there is no changing that now; all he can do is try and keep Lucia safe, but she continues to be a distraction to him. When the two finally establish that they love each other, they agree there are to be no more secrets. Noah is sure he knows who is behind the attempts on Lucia’s life, but is he? Meanwhile, Lucia has a clandestine meeting with Brent, who not only fears for his own life but Lucia’s too; will she relay this information to Noah or keep it to herself? While Noah tries to protect Lucia as much as he can, the attempts on her life lead to an unexpected revelation; ORUS may not be the only organisation with an interest in Lucia. A further mystery surrounds Nona. Who is really looking out for her welfare; while she believes it is Noah, is this really the case? Lucia and Noah try to put the pieces together from what each remember of that fateful day Rafe died, but there are too many unanswered questions. Noah is beginning to realise he may well have been set up, while Lucia is starting to wonder if Rafe is really dead after all? This is book two in the trilogy and is an excellent continuation of book one, but how the story will develop in book three is a complete mystery. I am looking forward to finding out why someone has such an intense interest in Lucia. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
