Hilarious, candid, and full of shenanigans, YouTube sensation Mamrie Hart is back with more adventures. When Mamrie simultaneously enters her 30s and finds herself single for the first time since college, the world is suddenly full of possibilities. Emboldened by the cool confidence that comes with the end of one's 20s plus the newfound independence of an attachment-free lifestyle, Mamrie commits herself to living life with even more spirit, adventure, and heart than before. Mamrie dives into new experiences at full-tilt and seeks out once-in-a-lifetime opportunities (like meeting the Dixie Chicks), bucket-list goals (like visiting the Moulin Rouge), and madcap adventures (like going anchors-away on a Backstreet Boys cruise)--all while diving back into the dating world for the first time in a decade.

In I've Got This Round, readers will find the same shameless honesty and I'll-try-anything-once spirit they loved in Hart's New York Times bestseller You Deserve a Drink. Mamrie doubles down on her strong female friendships, her willingness to engage in shenanigans, and her inimitable candor, taking the reader along for a wild and unforgettable journey through adulting

Sometimes you just need an audio book by a gal who travels all over the world drinking cocktails and having adventures so you don’t have to. I’m all for traveling but am also highly anxious, so vicarious experiences serve me well, and Mamrie Hart is the ribald queen of getting out there and enjoying life. If you aren’t familiar with her YouTube channel, You Deserve a Drink, go load up your queue and have yourself a hysterical evening.

My favorite story of the book was when she and her friend Joselyn went on a Backstreet Boys fan cruise. I like boy bands as much as the next girl in her 30s, but I had no idea that such a thing even existed, let alone the enthusiasm of the attendees. We’re talking themed costume nights and decorating the door of your cabin the way sixth-grade girls decorate their lockers.

What I love most about Mamrie is her confidence. She is the kind of person who says yes and asks questions later. She will try anything if she thinks it will make a good story later--which, when I think about it, isn’t a bad way to live your life. She’s also always ready with a pun.

I’ve Got This Round is pure fun--a perfect pick-me-up if you’re in need of one.

Mamrie Hart is a never-ending source of hilarious, over the top stories. I’ve Got This Round isn’t a memoir tracing the course of her life, it’s more like a collection of essays about different experiences she had in the year following the end of a 10 year relationship. There are some more introspective moments than are present in her first book, as she’s experiencing life outside of a relationship for the first time in a decade. But for the most part this is just an uproarious collection of adventures. There were some parts where I wish she would’ve leaned more into the serious moments, but overall I really enjoyed this book. I think even if you’re not a fan of her YouTube videos or podcast this can still be a fun read, especially as an audiobook.

This woman is my spirit animal!! Seriously, I had never heard of her, before taking a chance on signing up for the Goodreads Giveaway, and, now I am sad, because I wasted so much time not knowing that my soulsister is right there on YOUTUBE!!! In between drinks, and laughs, and turning pages, I got to travel to some pretty cool places with Mamrie and, given the chance I am sure I would have just as much fun with her in person as I did her book. Definitely going to get her first one, now, and start watching the Tube...And - JUST as funny the 2nd time thru!

*I received a DRC from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.*

Mamrie is just so naturally funny, it's annoying. This book was laugh out loud hijinks. I will say, I think i liked her first book more, but i can't say this one was at all disappointing. I especially liked the chapter about the Backstreet Boys cruise because it honestly made me so happy that I never went broke trying to go on one! If you like Mamrie's other content, I think you'll like this too. If you have no idea who Mamrie is, but you like Chelsea Handler, you should check out Mamrie!

My review of Mamrie Hart's I'VE GOT THIS ROUND, aka the book I didn't know I needed until I couldn't let it go.

This book came into my life at the exact right moment. Much like Mamrie at the start of this book, I too found myself newly single for the first time since college. Like Mamrie, I had been the one to end it. While our motives for doing so differed, the feelings of guilt were identical. I felt so connected to Mamrie while reading about her breakup, but not only that, I became very attuned to my own feelings.

While her first book, YOU DESERVE A DRINK, was a rollercoaster of booze and debauchery, this book--still every bit entertaining--felt so real and personal. While I can honestly say I have never known the feeling of attending a... ahem... artistically creative sex show in Amsterdam or having a threesome at a friend's wedding (Oh my god! That twist! My heart!), I know the feeling of bursting into tears in front of strangers, of the adrenaline of having a crazy adventure with my friends, of wanting to get away from reality. Of wanting something more. Maybe not always more, but at very least something... else. Whatever that might be.

Not only did this book come into my life at the start of my new single life, but it also came during one of the worst weeks I've had in months. This book became my crutch, my security blanket. If I became anxious or stressed that my life was going nowhere, I read a chapter. If I wanted to stave off the crushing feelings of abandonment from my father and my own self-deprifications, I read two chapters. If I felt like I was going to explode because the angry racist Cheeto running this country made another joke of himself, then honey, you bet I poured myself a glass of wine, tucked into bed with IGTR, and made a night of it.

She was my lighthouse for a week, keeping me from dashing myself against the rocky shore while also giving me a glimmer of hope in the dark, helping me to see that I won't be adrift at a choppy sea forever. (Land ho? More like this hoe landed a very special place in my heart.)

I'VE GOT THIS ROUND was everything I needed. Wild and funny and raw and human and Mamrie.
5/5 - Would make a double

All that classic Mamrie humor is here in spades, and this time with more footnotes! I remain vaguely concerned for her liver health, but exceedingly glad she's chosen to share these crazy stories.

While I read lots of different types of books, I typically only review romance novels. But I had to make an exception for one of my favorite YouTubers and overall amazing personalities. As a fellow North Carolianian, I appreciate her southern flair. Mamrie Hart is a hilarious woman and that translated perfectly into her newest novel, I’ve Got This Round.

In this book, we are welcomed with stories from her travels, each one more funnier than the last but all together tell her clear picture of the person Mamrie is. I felt for her breakup, I laughed at her mischief, I drank with her over and over again and each moment felt but light but truthful.

This is a book I can honestly recommend to anyone, I promise you will laugh your ass off and be entertained with each and every page turn.

i didn't quite enjoy this one as much as i enjoyed ms. hart's previous book. also, she said that pterosaurs are flying dinosaurs, which is just incorrect, and tragically an inaccuracy that i cannot forgive.

I listened to this on audio and I have to say that that might be the best way to take in this collection of stories. Hearing Mamrie Hart tell these tales, while laughing at her own jokes and generally just having a great time recounting these events in her life was a phenomenal experience. Aside from the enjoyment I experienced listening to this book, I also loved its contents. There were numerous times where I literally laughed out loud. Fans of Mamrie's work should definitely pick this up, but I feel that even people who aren't fans of her youtube content should give her books a shot as well.

So I've dabbled in audiobooks before.

A few years ago when I struggled to read much of anything, I decided to trying out this reading app Youtubers kept telling me all about.

For the time it worked! I read a fair few books and enjoyed my commute to and from a job I hated. But then it got to the point where I just couldn't afford the price tag so I ended my subscription.

This year, I've been doing a lot more. I don't have as much time to read and I'm now driving a 3 trip to my aunts and back once a month so I wanted to take advantage of the drive—and the time I spend shopping, and cleaning—to make my least favourite activities become less about "I don't have the energy to clean this house" or "Ugh, I don't want to get into the car, I hate driving" and more about "OMG I can't wait to do the dishes because it means I can listen to more of my audiobook" and "Oh boy, a long drive, I'm gonna get so much reading done".

the first book I tried was a YA mystery and I just don't think I can concentrate properly on fiction books. They lean too far into the one note speech. I want a book that makes me feel like I'm listening to a friend tell me some wild weekend they had where hi-jinks and chaos ensued. I need to be engaged the entire time or I'm gonna zone out and start thinking about how I forgot to take hang my washing out or when I'm going to have time to go back to the store to get that one thing I always seem to forget.

Enter Mamrie Hart, well her memoir, I've Got This Round, to be more precise.

I love Mamrie, I've been subscribed to her for years. I first found her when watching a video of her, Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart.
I love Grace, she's the awkward older sister of the internet.
And Hannah Hart is a lot like my mum, if my mum was a pint-sized optimistic lesbian making drunk cooking videos for the internet. (My mum is also pint sized and optimistic, she just doesn't drink much or make videos for the internet or have an attraction to women...so far. She's a pretty open person, I wouldn't rule it out just yet.)

Mamrie is all crass and brass and I love it. She's hilarious with or without a drink in her hand and her puns are next level good and she's been doing since before Liza Koshey set foot in a dollar store for the first time.

I was lucky enough to go to the Holy Trinity's (Mamrie, Grace & Hannah) No Filter show when the came to Australia so you could call me a pretty big fan.

I've read Grace's first memoir, Grace's Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-up and Hannah's second memoir, Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded, (or first, depending on what you consider a memoir, since her first, My Drunk Kitchen: A Guide to Eating, Drinking, and Going with Your Gut, was a mix of cooking and life stories) and I thought it was about time for me to experience one of Mamrie's books.

I would have gone with her first book, You Deserve a Drink: Boozy Misadventures and Tales of Debauchery but it's unfortunately not on Audible which is a travesty considering how much they've sponsored her videos. Nevertheless, I wasn't going to be discouraged. I knew there was no way I wouldn't like one of Mamrie's books, so I returend the YA mystery that wasn't doing much for me and used my refunded credit to purchases I've Got This Round.

This book is perfectly narrated by Mamrie herself and had me from the first second. Mamrie is a story teller after all.

And boy are her stories wild and engaging. She had me and my mum hooked while we listened to her stories of flying alongside and cam girl and how she bounced back after a break up from a 10-year relationship.

I felt her sadness, and was reminded of my own, as she recounted the moment she discovered Donald Trump was elected president, and I enjoyed listening to her escapades all over the world, including a trip to the Mulan Rouge and a surprising threesome story all while I was driving through rural Australia.

Mamrie has a knack for the funny and pun-ny side of life and I enjoyed every moment.

My first book of 2018! At this point in my life, finishing a book is such a huge accomplishment! This was a completely random purchase when I walked in to Barnes and Noble one day. I was feeling anxious about some things, especially related to my fairly new singledom, and when I picked this one up she just spoke to me. I'll also be honest and admit I may have been living under some kind of rock because I didn't know who the author was! But needless to say, I was drawn to what the book advertised about her humor and tales of her travels amongst her new singledom.

The book delivered as promised. She had fun tales of her travels and partying. She sounds like someone I'd have a lot of fun hanging out with. All her stories are sort of random, but they're so fun! I want to live her life in traveling, so it was fun to read through her experiences. I actually looked forward to coming home and reading more of her book... and coming home to read has not at all been something I've been wanting to do for several months now.

Definitely recommend for those with snarky, non-pc, senses of humor.

While reading this book the main thing I thought was, "why isn't my life as fun/crazy as Mamrie's when I'm single?!"

Once again, Mamrie has written a book that is dangerous to read in public because you'll be laughing out loud so much that people will definitely give you weird looks. I did like her first book slightly more, but like she said - with her first book she could take the best stories from her whole life, but with this one she had only had a couple years worth of stories to write about. Still, her stories did not disappoint. I did like that she showed a more emotional and vulnerable side to herself by writing about her breakup. The book never felt like a "and this is how I got over my breakup" story, but her honesty and openness was definitely nice. Overall, a great book that made me continuously wish I was best friends with Mamrie.

Getting to join Mamrie on her year of adventures was like spending a Sunday at home: you're excited you have so much ahead of you, but it's a bit of a bummer when it ends and you know you have to go back into the real world. She starts you off in the Poconos with her beige plate of buffet food and leaves you seeing her excited for her next set of adventures.

If you don't like stories about '00s music, this is not the book for you because Mamrie has a few of those in here. If you like hearing about someone be single and enjoy their closest friends now that she's out of a relationship, read this book.... like now. And don't be surprised if you come out of it appreciating uncanny ability to make the most random funny analogies... and sometimes she even makes them quite punny ("Dustin Checks In" was especially funny to me)!

Let’s get this out of the way: I love Mamrie Hart and think we should be best friends.

I’ve Got This Round is the second book from Mamrie, and like “You Deserve A Drink”, is full of adventures, Southernisms, and drinks. Plenty and plenty of drinks. Mamrie travels across the world, goes through a heartbreak, has a rebound romance (I TOTALLY know who this was….based on her story about the G’n’R concert, and honestly….it’s changed my opinion of him COMPLETELY.)

Mamrie is hilarious and I’d advise picking up this book, as well as following her on twitter and instagram. Also, Mamrie? Seriously….can we get a drink and hang when you are in New York again?

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and Mamrie Hart for the opportunity to read and review this book.

3.5 stars, rounded up.

First off, how can I NOT love a book that hard core references Bravo's Southern Charm, and even more specifically that show's infamous trip to Jekyll Island?

Mamrie is a woman after my own heart.

I enjoyed this book because I really just enjoy Mamrie's "voice," and down to earth attitude. She's kind of just a cool chick and I like the way she keeps things real, even if her life is very different from mine.

I appreciated in this book that she was willing to take on writing about the end of a decade-long relationship and the ways she tried to come to terms with that and move on. While I couldn't entirely relate to that, there were definitely pieces of that experience that hit home for me.

I also always appreciate her puns and love of (often trashy) pop culture. It was fun to live vicariously through her travels, especially her adventures with Grace Helbig, and a pretty epic Backstreet Boys cruise trip.

Clearly if she keeps writing books, I will keep reading them. I'm definitely Team Mametown.

Mamrie Hart caught my attention years ago when I noticed the gap between her front teeth, similar to my own. Soon after, I fell head over heels for her quick wit and puns and she grew to be one of my favorite comediennes. In her second book, she reveals a more personal side of her than we've seen before, without losing her iconic sense of humor and incredible sense of adventure. Her spontaneity and ability to turn the most mundane events into an incredible story puts your wanderlust pinterest board to shame. Hart's book draws out the risk taker in her readers, or at least lets us live vicariously through her. This is a great book even if you aren't familiar with her YouTube videos, definitely worth a purchase.

Funny, frank, raucous, unapologetic, and like...strangely uplifting at times? YouTube sensation and all-around badass bitch Mamrie Hart delivers another book full of sassy, brassy personal essays, encompassing such topics as her first forays into the dating world in a decade, a Backstreet Boys Mediterranean cruise, and the time she and some girlfriends saw the Dixie Chicks in Amsterdam on 4/20. Mamrie Hart is just my type of comedian - foul-mouthed, unapologetic, and Southern - so I loved this book. (Also this girl loves Bojangles' biscuits as much as I do, and goddammit now I want Bojangles.)

This may very well be the first book that I have ever started and not finished. I feel particularly bad because I won it (sorry Goodreads Giveaways) but I have been at it for a month now and just couldn’t take it anymore.

This was intended to a memoir/humour type book, genres I generally enjoy. The author was unknown to me but it appears that she has a YouTube channel and a number of followers and this book recounts her various drinking adventures. To be fair, I guess I just couldn’t relate as my adult self is not preoccupied with drinking and partying. I could have just gone with her experiences though had she not been so obnoxious. To illustrate, she recalls being in Paris and running into a group of friends who were there for a birthday celebration or hen do or something like that. Clearly, if they had wanted her there they would have invited her. Instead of realizing that, however, the author just joins their group uninvited and even takes it upon herself to change their plans to something that she feels would be more fun. This was not a woman I wanted to spend any time with.

Even though I did not finish the book, you better believe I’m taking full credit for my efforts and marking it as read. I earned it.

It’s not that the book was bad... because it wasn’t. It just didn’t live up to the first one. It wasn’t as funny and most of the stories weren’t as exciting.

I liked how it was a growth in character ,going from being in her twenties to learning how to live on her own in her thirties. I guess I was just expecting more.

Having never watched Mamrie Hart's YouTube show or read her first book, You Deserve a Drink, you'd think that her second book about her adventures, I've Got This Round, might be a slog for me. It was anything but! I eagerly devoured this book from start to finish and giggled frequently while reading. At the h(e)art of it, Hart is a comedy writer and that really shines through while she's recounting the last few years of her life jaunting around the world with her friends, weeping, swimming in tubs shaped like champagne, and drinking. The comedy is tight within in her book of personal essays and Hart references lil throwaway jokes from previous chapters that make the reader feel like they're in on some fun inside jokes. This book is truly a hoot and I'll be snapping up Hart's debut soon. Hart made me want to travel travel travel and get into some hijinks with my friends and wish that she was one of them.

This book comes out TOMORROW!! Tuesday, 6 February 2018, and you should bring it into your life immediately!

I received a copy of this book via a GoodReads giveaway, and I am so happy I did! I've been a fan of Mamrie's for a few years now (I still get excited when I see her in those La-Z-Boy commericals), so to win a copy of her book was super exciting. I haven't had the chance to read her first book, but this one was a joy form start to finish. In this memoir, Mamrie takes the reader through a variety of adventures, highlighting various trips she took with friends where she learned some life lessons. Something lovely about this book was the fact that each chapter held some sort of message about what certain parts of growing up or adulting mean. I really appreciated her candor and willingness to be real with her readers, sharing her reactions to what was going on in her life while all of these things were happening. Because I primarily follow Mamrie on YouTube, I had no idea some of this stuff was happening. However because of the way this book was laid out and styled, I felt like I got to experience a year with Mamrie, which isn't something I typically experience while reading any kind of memoir, and that helped me feel more like I was reading a letter from a friend. Additionally, the jokes and personal photos all really add to the intimacy of the text, helping you get to know Mamrie better. I really, really enjoyed reading this and am going to get my hands on Mamrie's first book as soon as I can! Can't wait to see what else Mamrie has in store for the future.

I've Got This Round: More Tales of Debauchery by Mamrie Hart was just what I needed after the last couple of books. Without realizing it, I desperately required a fresh dose of humor and Mamrie's voice in particular pulls one out of their own funk and reminds them that life should be fun. If you want to read a book by someone who feels like they are in your corner and rooting you on then you are in the right place. She has inspired/reminded me to continue to live authentically and for me. Also, I should travel more. Like a LOT more. If you've never heard of Mamrie I highly recommend you do two things: Watch her YouTube channels and read her first book. After you've done those two things you'll have a better understanding of just what you're getting into by diving into her second book which focuses less on the distant past and more on living in the moment. In I've Got This Round Mamrie set out to make moments that could be turned into a book and she succeeded with flying colors. She tests out a dating app which I had never heard about before and then I heard about it again the week after I finished reading this. (It's called Raya and I think it's for celebs. Full disclosure: I never researched it.) She goes on crazy trips with friends where everything is planned last minute and insane things happen. Some of the stuff that happened was so surprising that I literally looked up from the page and stared into space for several minutes. (I so badly want to tell you which things I'm talking about but I don't want to ruin it for you.) I have no idea how someone can consume the amount of alcohol that Mamrie does and still function as a normal human. It does make for hilarious content though so...worth it? This is a fun read that still manages to have a lot of heart. If you enjoyed You Deserve a Drink (the book and/or her YouTube show) then you will undoubtedly love its sequel. 10/10

Mamrie Hart’s Stardust Memories become her Memoirs

https://wp.me/p44MRM-5TR

Laugh-out-loud funny, Mamrie Hart’s memories are suspect only because of the prodigious amount of booze and pot she consumes and inhales. But who cares if the memories are perfect as this woman provides narrative in which I think I heard her have to stifle laughing at her own writing – a sign of the recognition of the ridiculous and the ridiculously hilarious nature of her life.

Where has this comedian been all my life? I had not heard of her – proving that I am older than effing dirt. That she can stand traveling and is apparently a pleasant drunk who doesn’t ascribe her consumption of booze as a failure of character.

I admire her personality and character which, even drunk, has an integrity many people do not even own drunk. She has fabulous and loyal friends who really are siblings of the heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series of essays which starts off with the break up of her long term relationship and ends up with her feeling just as fun, but more responsible.

I loved it and now I need a drink!

Okay, I definitely loved this book even more than her first book.

This round (hah, a pun, you're welcome, Mamrie) I felt a lot more heart and soul underlying every story. There was more of a narrative arc, showing her growth over the span of a transformative year though all of the wacky and kooky experiences she had. Whereas the first book was just a different story each chapter that you could pick up on a whim to read and giggle at.

Some of the stories sound too wild to believe, but trust me, she's got photos to prove it just in case you weren't sure:
- Visiting a honeymoon resort in the middle of Appalachia just to take a bath in a champagne glass-shaped tub
- Seeing the Dixie Chicks in Amsterdam on 4/20
- Taking a caribbean cruise with the Backstreet Boys

Everything seems so vivid and silly that you have to wonder how Mamrie's entire life isn't just an amazing comedy movie and I desperately want to be a part of.

I first thought that Mamrie Hart could be my spirit animal after I first watched one of her "YDAD" Youtube videos. Then I read "You Deserve a Drink" and I was like 86% positive of it.

Now, after finishing this book, I can 100% confirm she is.

This book is everything I hoped it would be - I laughed so hard I nearly had vodka soda gushing out of my nose. Mamrie has a way of storytelling that is so captivating and hilarious that you can't NOT keep reading.

"I've Got This Round" could possibly be one of my favorite memoirs - and one with epic tales of debauchery at that!

I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy humor, puns, a few dad jokes, and a martini-of-choice in hand as they read. Mamrie's stories are a true gem. 10 out of 10 would read again.
