I’m a fan of the Killer Coffee Mystery series. Roxy Bloom is a great character with a cute salt and pepper schnauzer, Pepper. Roxy owns The Bean Hive coffee shop and also volunteers at the Pet Palace animal shelter. An unusual pet is actually at the center of the controversy in book two which hatches the setting for this entertaining mystery. Delicious recipes included.

This is Book Two in the A Killer Coffee Mystery series and it is a winner. This series takes place in Honey Springs, Kentucky, where Roxy owns The Bean Hive. There is a lot of coffee and tea served among the mystery in this story, along with some mouthwatering food and desserts! I suggest having lots of coffee on hand while reading. Roxy is a former lawyer who recently moved back to this small town where she spent her childhood summers. She seems to keep getting caught up in murders in town and, ...more

I really enjoyed MOCHA AND MURDER, the delightful second book in the Killer Coffee Mystery series by Tonya Kappes. Full of lively characters, a little romance, dramatic family dynamics, and a murder that revolves around a rare chicken, it is a “must read” for any cozy fan.

This time out, Roxy gets caught up in the murder of her apple supplier Fred. She happens to come across her good friend Louise holding the murder weapon and standing over Fred’s lifeless body. Confident that her new friend is n

First off let me say, I'm dying to make those Apple Honey Crisps. :D So happy that the recipes are included. Aside from that recipe there are a few others in the book, which is a bonus many cozies have.

Same fun characters as book one, plus a few new ones introduced, but don't worry, you can read this as a stand alone if you haven't read the first book of the series (Scene of the Grind.) It is clean and safe for all ages. Reads quickly. The mystery in this book i

I truly enjoyed this 2nd book of Tonya's new series. Roxy having followed her dream in opening the Bean Hive is doing well and her future is looking bright. At least it was until she comes across another dead body, this time with a friend standing over it with a knife. Did Louise kill Fred Hill a local apple orchard owner? Roxy doesn't believe so and hopes that she can find out who the killer is before Louise ends up in jail. With a very expensive chicken thrown into the mix, some costly eggs, a ...more

I love the small town with all it's southern charm. This book pulls you in and makes you want to sit a spell at the Bean Hive helping solve mysteries with Roxie while taking in the surrounding community of Honey Springs. I can just picture walking down the streets wandering through the shops of Honey Springs.

Coffee lovers delight

If you enjoy a good cup of coffee delicately combined with a good mystery, this is the series for you. Is is only the second book in the series and I'm hoping for many more from author Tonya Kappes. Every seres she writes is as good as the next but because of the coffee theme I think this one might be my favorite. I hope book three comes out soon.

Fantastic!

I just love this series and this book was just as good as the first one. I can't get enough of this. This just seems like the perfect lake town and I just want to go there. The story was a lot of fun and right up until the killer was revealed I had no idea. I cannot wait to start the next book!

Another visit to The Bean Hive brings further character development and a plot that will have you spending the afternoon turning pages furiously to see what happens next. The boardwalk is once again buzzing with activity and things take a turn when someone turns up murdered. Once again murder, mystery and coffee all go together to make the perfect recipe for an afternoon of entertainment.

Once again she is caught up in a murder and a chicken is involved! Yes I said chicken.
This was a quick read with fun characters and a trip back to Honey Springs, Kentucky.
So grab some coffee or tea and enjoy the story.

I just love this series! The characters are hilarious, they love each other and would lend a hand no matter what. Lake Honey Springs seems so real, I wish I could head down to The Bean Hive for a premium cup of coffee and then down to the dock to read my book in the sun.

I love how these books move. There isn't a stagnant moment where you're waiting for something to happen. If you're not actively guessing who the killer is, you're cheering silently for love to win or laughing out loud at the shen
