With a soft belly and thick thighs, Ria isn’t Hollywood’s version of beauty. But when award-winning director Ben Crawford hears her sing, he casts her as his lead, a move that wins more of Ria’s heart than she wants to admit. Then she learns her co-star is Gregory Finn, a man she’s had a crush on for fifteen years . . . a man notorious for romancing his leading ladies and

I received an advance copy of "Wild Horse Heart." It was amazing. I read it in one sitting (because I had to know what happened and totally fell in love with all of the characters). The writing and the story are beautiful. I'm not going to lie-there were some happy and sad (mostly happy) tears. It's a really special book.

I love the storyline, the characters, and the way Katrina tells the story.
I found the premise of the story really interesting! It was really fun to experience the whole process of Ria going through the audition process, getting cast, dealing with the joys, trials, and tribulations of being in a Hollywood blockbuster movie, and handling the aftermath of the completion of the film.
I got connected to the characters very easily (Except Mark. I don’t fancy him at all. You’ll see why as you read). Thr ...more

My favorite stories hit that sweet spot between romance and women's fiction, and Katrina Ariel's Wild Horse Heart sits squarely in the middle of those worlds.
When Ria Walsh lands her first movie role, she finally has the resources to leave her abusive husband and start over with her three beautiful children. Her fresh start comes complete with two men vying for her attention: Ria's charming and thoughtful director AND her sexy, all-too-confident costar. But Wild Horse Heart is as much about fin ...more

Katrina Ariel's "Wild Horse Heart" drops you into the life of Ria Walsh, a beautiful, sensitive and talented singer songwriter caught in an abusive marriage. Her world is turned upside down when she's discovered by a Hollywood director and cast in a film with her Hollywood crush. This was a super-fun read - Ria's sensitivity and down-to-earth charms are very relatable - she feels like your best friend and you'll root for her through the hard times and cheer as she gets caught up in love triangle

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Wild Horse Heart is the perfect summer/beach read. It's the kind of book you read when you need to relax, mentally and physically, and read something happy.
The book tells the story of Ria, mother of three and wannabe musician. When she's discovered playing by a big-time Hollywood producer who wants to cast her as the lead in his next movie, she must balance her new life, a vengeful ex-husband, and her feelings f ...more

With a main character who is down-to-earth and does not fit the Hollywood image of beauty, Wild Horse Heart encourages women to embrace their bodies that may have stretch marks and a few pounds more than they’d like, to love themselves and to chase their dreams.
Ria is mercifully plucked out of a life of misery and an abusive marriage when a movie director hears her talented voice and offers her a leading role in his movie. She finally stands up to her husband, packs up her three children and em ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this new book by author Katrina Ariel. A refreshing storyline, realistic, well fleshed out characters and a plot to satisfy any reader looking for a happy summer read made this a winner. Add this to your holiday reading list and pick up a copy for your best friend while you're at it; some proceeds go to help protect wild horses.

'Wild Horse Heart' was such a good book, I loved it! It had a love triangle, which I normally avoid, but the blurb caught my attention and thankfully I decided to give it a chance. I loved both Ben and Finn and could not decide which of them I wanted Ria to end up with. In the end I was happy with her choice, but I probably would have been just as happy had it been the other way around. Each man deserved Ria's love and I was heartbroken for the one she didn't choose.

I loved the three central characters: Ria, Ben and Finn, each damaged by life, each with flaws that make the Hollywood romance seem endearingly relatable, each warm, relatable characters that you root for and relate to.
The writer takes the age-old love triangle and breathes new life into it - for the vast majority of the book, I honestly didn't know which of these two great men Ria would end up with. As a reader, I would have been happy with either choice but, at the end, her choice seems right. ...more

Relatable and heartfelt, Wild Horse Heart is a pleasant read with a thrilling ending.
I'm impressed with how this storyline follows not only Ria but also her on-set character, Josie. The book has a story-within-a-story feel to it, which can be a challenge to write.
The wrap up of tension and conflict between Ria and her ex-husband, Mark, had me on the edge of my seat, cheering by the end. Gotta love horses! And, though I avoid love triangles, I'm pleased with the choice Ria made between Ben and Fi ...more

I got bogged down over with the December holidays and forgot to pick this book back up until this week. Then I tore right through it! I really enjoyed the characters and the author's love of horses that shines though. The scenes of the open country were so vivid, I want to visit. I liked how despite being insecure and worn down by her abusive husband, Ria has this vault of strength that works to edify her. She doesn't really need the men in her life in order to exist. Rather, she's enough by her

Wild Horse Heart is a lovely story written in a fantastic way. The moment I started reading I got caught up in the life of Ria Walsh, an incredibly strong woman and a mother of three. She does not have an easy life, but she always keeps hopeful and is there for her children when they need her.
The book is written in a way that makes it impossible to put it down, and I flew trough it. There is not a moment it gets boring. Also, the book has a nice typeface which makes it comfortable to read, and ...more

This was a fun, light read.
It is perfect for your next beach vacay (anyone else missing summer already, even though it's only September?!).
Or, it's an absolutely perfect read for those first rainy days of fall and winter. Stay in bed, read it right through. That's what I did! Fun, light, conscious, hopeful, with just enough drama to keep me from putting it down to get my next coffee!

3.5 stars. I enjoyed this story and it was an easy read! Loved the horses and the description of the beautiful outdoors. It's clear that Ariel is an outdoors-woman herself. If you're looking for the perfect book to read at the beach, by the pool, or on vacation anywhere.

I really loved this book. I'm not a fan of romances, but Ria was a really relatable and likeable character and I found myself being pulled in. It was a great book about love, family and discovering oneself.
