A TASTE OF YOU is one of those books that just put a smile on your face; a feel good story with lots of depth.

I really enjoyed how Stanley took emotionally scarred individuals, who clearly had some truly difficult issues to overcome, but didn't make that the focus of the story- telling.

Eve was amazing! Her strength and ability to accept and even joke at her own flaws but still not let it bog her down made her one of my most favorite contemporary romance characters this year.

I was really looking forward to getting back to the Blue Mountain Distillery and I was very happy that I went back. Eve and Nick’s story was a little bit strange and a whole lot interesting.

Nick makes no promises. He does not make plans. He takes things as the come … one-day-at-a-time! That’s him. A man who cannot be counted on to be there in the long run. Then, why did he agree to finish building the tasting and visitors center when his father went down? Why can’t he say no to little Miss Organization? What is it about her that gets him thinking about long-term and breaking every promise he made to himself and make her a promise that he would always be there for her?

There are several things standing in the way of Eve and Nick. The biggest barrier is his secret. The 2nd biggest is Lorena who wins the Bitch of the Month Award. Nope, not a fan of this woman, her higher-than-thou attitude or the blinders she has on, just turned me completely off.
Especially at the end. I was hoping that she would have been redeemed and she just pissed me off more. I was surprised with who was redeemed and showed me that the love of a father for his son could turn your way of thinking around.

So, now it’s time to seriously commend Ms. Stanley on the writing of this story. She dug into some serious issues and wrote about them with style and grace. She showed us the trials of tribulations of a person going through AA and just how it affects the people around them. She dug deep and showed us the emotions of people going through Al-Anon/Alateen and how they cope with family members who are alcoholics. I was really impressed with how she wove these topics throughout the story but also gave Nick and Eve the chance to fall in love. Ms. Stanley also has a sense of humor and it shown through right from the beginning. I am looking forward to another trip back to Blue Mountain and can only hope that she keeps the series as fun and interesting as A Taste of You was.

I saw a lot of hype for this book when I first started my twitter account . Intrigued by the title, the cover, and the new author I have yet had the chance to read, I was excited to download it and see what the hype was about.

Expecting a light-heart romantic comedy, A Taste of You by Teri Anne Stanley is borderline it. What I mean is that both characters, Nick and Eve come from such dark pasts that it gives off this raw and real truth to it. Not every character is born from a MY RATING: 3/5 STARS

I saw a lot of hype for this book when I first started my twitter account . Intrigued by the title, the cover, and the new author I have yet had the chance to read, I was excited to download it and see what the hype was about.

Expecting a light-heart romantic comedy, A Taste of You by Teri Anne Stanley is borderline it. What I mean is that both characters, Nick and Eve come from such dark pasts that it gives off this raw and real truth to it. Not every character is born from a privileged background. Not every character is happy growing up. Both Nick and Eve come from families that suffered alcoholism, failed marriages, and disappointment.

Nick, our resident hero, wants nothing to do with helping his father fulfill his contract with Eve. One look at her, and he knew he couldn’t stand a chance if they spent more than the allotted time together. He thinks he’s a wash up, a replica of his father, and therefore, he doesn’t believe Eve should even touch her with a ten feet pole. It was sad to see him go through this but what I enjoyed about this character was that instead of being flawed by association, Teri Anne Stanley made him more by the plot twist towards the end. I’m not going to spoil it because that’s rude and you should read it yourself! Ha!

Eve, our heroine, is not the pencil pusher she is. Her father, just like Nick’s, was an alcoholic that lied, cheated, and ultimately drank himself to death. Coping for her father’s death was never in her agenda she keeps everything up to date with, but instead she takes care of her mother who was too proud to admit that her husband was an alcoholic. Despite the pressures of her family, Eve remains to be quite like your average gal from other romantic novels. She’s sweet, caring, and fierce.

The reason why this book is not a perfect 5 out of 5 stars for me is because it didn’t hit the mark in my heart. There were parts that dragged–as do with all books that are part in a series and when you read from the middle instead of the beginning. And it lacked the spark I wanted. Instead of a spark, I got a snap, crackle, pop! Enough to keep me going but not enough for me to think about long after I finished the book.

MY RECOMMENDATION

Read it but i suggest reading the other books before this one so you can truly understand the characters. ...more

Such a fun read!

Eve and Nick make one heck of a couple, and an even better team as they worked together to get Eve's family's tasting center up and ready to go for her mother's big charity event. And okay, there were some pretty serious issues being dealt with here too--alcoholism, both from the personal POV and that of their family's, guilt and abandonment--but even though their treatment was well done and realistic, they didn't bog the story down. Oh wow! It's such a fun read, I absolutely loved this book. It's one of those amazing stories which warm your heart, and make you fall in love. The technical stuff: The cover of this book is drop dead sexy. If I hadn't already wanted to read it, that cover would have had me clicking to see what the story was about. This book is technically book 3 of the “Bourbon Brothers” series, and although the first books in the series are fabulous stories and should be read for that reason, you *do not* have to read them to enjoy this one. The technical stuff: The cover of this book is drop dead sexy. If I hadn't already wanted to read it, that cover would have had me clicking to see what the story was about. This book is technically book 3 of the “Bourbon Brothers” series, and although the first books in the series are fabulous stories and should be read for that reason, you *do not* have to read them to enjoy this one. There is both on screen sex and cursing (including f-bombs) in this book so if those will cause you to leave a bad review of the story, then you should skip this one.

As someone who is familiar with the affects that alcohol can have on a family, on a life, this book touched a nerve that I wasn't expecting, and I mean that 100% in a positive way. *SPOILERS to end of paragraph* (view spoiler)

But despite the serious nature of Nick's backstory, this book is full of the laugh out loud moments that I have come to expect and love in Ms. Stanley's books so please don't be scared off by that previous paragraph. This story is still a lighthearted and adorable love story that will make you laugh.

Eve was a little bit neurotic (in a good way) and incredibly organized, but she was also a little bit of a hot mess. She was so determined to keep the family legacy going that she wasn't living her own life. Watching her change and grow over the course of this book was fabulous, and I especially enjoyed her part in the final few chapters. As someone with an addiction to office supplies, I found myself laughing and LOVING her fetish for post-its and paper clips and pens that write oh so smoothly (oh maybe I'm projecting on that last one).

If you enjoy a book about two fabulous characters who fall in love despite the differences that should keep them apart, and a story about things that go so much deeper than the usual fluffy romance novel fodder (which I also love so that is not meant to be an insult!) than you should give this book a read. It was a fabulous, wonderful way to end this series.

Excellent read! It's fun, flirty, and entertaining. Through the humor you can really feel the depth of these characters and how far they've come. It's very well written and has a great story at the core.

Another cute book for this series. It’s sweet and heartfelt. Eve is beyond type-A and she is on a time crunch to get her family’s new tasting and visitor center for the distillerary ready by opening date. The only problem is her carpenter is MIA so when she goes to finds him she finds his extremely attractive son and his father unable to complete the job because he’s injured. I loved this book! Eve's family owns a distillery that is preparing to launch their tasting and visitor center when her contractor disappears. Unable to reach him, she goes to his house and finds his son, Nick. Nick agrees to help with the work his dad left undone, but wasn't prepared for his attraction to Eve.

This was a great read. The H and h were both very likeable and you just can’t help pulling for them to find their HEA. Eve McGrath has to work with Nick Baker to finish the visiting center for her family’s Bourbon distillery. Nick’s father is an alcoholic who was supposed to be doing the work, but he’s gotten sick. A truly laugh out loud romantic comedy that'll have you searching for additional books by this author. The speed in which Eve's internal monologues occurred was the basis for most of the hilarity. The chemistry between she and Nick was sigh worthy and heartwarming.

With every book, this series just keeps getting better and better, and Ms. Stanley delivers another wonderful and captivating read in this third story of her Bourbon Brothers series, encompassing a fast-paced storyline that is filled with plenty of dialogue, which had me smiling or laughing; and main characters that have such interesting back stories that I couldn't wait to discover more about them, especially the hero. The way this story started had me hoping the heroine would get what she wants, because she needs everything to work out, otherwise there's no telling how her mother will react. Will everything work out for the best for Eve?

As for the dialogue, it was intense and had me loving both the main characters because of their back stories and their playful banter, especially when they're conversing about relationships and the heroine's organizing skills when it comes to her office supplies. Those moments had me laughing and determined to discover how many more times they could make me laugh. Moreover, I really enjoyed the hero's back story, as he's fighting a battle he's not certain he'll win in the long run, especially since there's plenty of temptation working for Eve at Blue Mountain Distillery and the fact that his father doesn't help matters with him having the same problem the hero had but not willing to do anything about it. I also liked how close the hero is with his mother and the advice the woman gives to him about Eve because he certainly needs it.

While the heroine, her need to be meticulous and her need to learn things she barely knows anything about had me really liking Eve. I also liked how much Eve grew throughout this story and that she finally stood up for what she wanted in her life, instead of continuing to remain the puppet her mother treats her like in expecting the heroine to fall in line with the woman's plans. I also liked how accepting she was of the hero, considering she's already witnessed the effects of the addiction the hero has recovered from, but could still fall back into the habit if he's not careful.

Overall, Ms. Stanley completely captivated me with this book where the chemistry was intense and the ending had me smiling because of the heroine's courage to finally fight for what she wanted for her future. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up nicely, as the heroine is finally truly happy and I liked how what was happening with Eve's sister managed to bring the family a little closer after everything that happened. I would recommend A Taste of You by Teri Anne Stanley, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Marissa Clarke, Boone Brux, Stefanie London or Donna Michaels.

All he knows is that, as a recovering alcoholic, a bourbon distillery and tasting center is probably not the ideal work environment. There's something about Eve, though, that makes him want to prove that he can commit. That he can work at a distillery without succumbing to temptation. That he can be the person she needs.

I actually really loved this book! I was a bit nervous going in because I somehow missed that this is #3 in a series when I requested it. There's no backstory necessary to enjoy this plot, though, so I was able to dive right in without feeling like I'd missed something.

I thought that both Eve and Nick were great characters -- particularly Nick -- and their struggles and conflicts didn't feel contrived at all. Their relationship seemed to develop naturally, without any instalove or manufactured angst. Now, don't get me wrong -- there's plenty of drama in this book. Don't get the impression that it's all smooth sailing! Eve and Nick go through their fair share of disagreements and setbacks, but it all felt like it could happen in real life, which is something that I most definitely appreciated.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, my first by Teri Anne Stanley, and I would love to go back and read the other two books in this series. If you like contemporary romance, you could do a whole lot worse than A Taste of You.

Nick and Eve seem to be opposites but they compliment each other so well! Nick doesn't make plans and Eve is a compulsive planner, and both had alcoholic fathers. It doesn't take long for them to realize that they have a spark between them and act on it.

What a great quick paced sweet read! I loved Eve as a character. She was anal about her organization, which brought several smiles to my face throughout this story. I mean who doesn't love office supplies, post it notes, and those spiral notebooks??? Eve was very amusing, outspoken, genuinely looked at the good in people, and went for what she wanted in Nick.
