When a massive solar flare knocks out the entire nation's power grid, society begins to rapidly break down. After a few days, it was obvious that the electricity wasn't coming back on. The situation soon evolves into a scenario of survival of the fittest, kill or be killed. Patrick Walker, fearful that his family may not survive the apocalyptic world that has befallen him, decides to take his family to his grandfather's cabin in the secluded, wooded area of Northern Arkansas.
