Legend says Guinevere spent her final days in penance in a convent, but that is far from the truth.

Mistress of Legend by Nicole Evelina is a 2018 by Lawson Gartner Publishing publication.

A beautiful conclusion to this lush and vivid trilogy!

Arthur’s kingdom is fiercely divided by Guinevere’s fate, but when he’s called into battle, Mordred takes over. The country is soon drawn into a civil war, which prompts Guinevere to return to her beloved Votadini homeland But, her dreams of living a gentle quiet life with Lancelot are quickly dispelled. She soon finds herself in a leadership role once a

I had the most difficult time with this closing chapter of the trilogy because it spends a lot of time AFTER the point where Arthurian legend ends. Which makes sense, I guess, because this is Guineverian (is that a word?) legend. The first book is all pre-Camelot, which I found fascinating , but after spending a book and a half among reinterpretations of the familiar tales, I had a hard time transitioning back to the author’s pure invention. I liked Guinevere’s introduction to her mother’s homel ...more

6th century. A warrior. A leader. A woman. Nicole Evelina’s Mistress of Legend (Guinevere’s Tale #3)
is a beautifully written novel about Guinevere, a strong female leader. There are two parts to this tale of Guinevere - before and during Arthur’s fatal clash with his power hungry son, Mordred and life after Arthur when Guinevere returns north (Scotland) to her mother’s people,The Votadini and finds Lancelot who has already been accepted by them. The only goal Guinevere has is to ‘live in peace’

Amazing. Love stories about Lancelot and Guinevere. All Guinevere wants is to be with Lancelot, but there seems to be a lot of interference. You just get lost in the story.

I've always been interested in the character of Guinevere, but never have I seen her portrayed so uniquely as Nicole Evelina does in her three-book homage to the woman who has been depicted in so many different ways as part of Arthurian lore. Mistress of Legend, the third and final installment of this trilogy, kept me turning the pages, wondering what would happen next, as Guinevere; priestess, Queen, and warrior, faced a new set of obstacles and challenges – desires and dangers.

The end surpris

While I didn’t like this book as much as the first two, I still think the author created a strong voice in this version of Guinevere. Recommended to fans of Arthurian fiction.

If you only read one new Arthurian novel this year, make it Mistress of Legend by Nicole Evelina. Of course, since it’s the third in a trilogy, you may first want to read Daughter of Destiny and Camelot’s Queen. But what makes this novel stand out, besides Evelina’s wonderful writing abilities, is that it tells Guinevere’s story after the Battle of Camlann.

The novel opens right after Lancelot has rescued Guinevere from being burnt at the stake. Warning, there will be some spoiler alerts here, bu

Mistress of Legend is the third and final installment of the brilliant Guinevere's Tale trilogy, focusing on Arthurian myth through the perspective (and life) of the often scorned "character" of Guinevere. In this novel, we see aspects of the traditional end to Arthur's reign, in that final battle with his usual opponent Mordred, but in this novel that's really just the beginning, as it then follows through everything that came after as far as Guinevere's life was concerned

A satisfying if somewhat bittersweet culmination to the trilogy. I think it's fair to say that I devoured this version of the "Legend" of Guinevere. Some of the protagonists could easily be seen as based on actual historical figures and whenever or wherever the battles took place there is no doubt that at least some of them did happen. The so-called "Dark Ages" were a tumultuous time for Britain in the years leading up to the reign(s) of the Anglo-Saxon rulers which only ended in 1066 with Bill- ...more

The final novel in Nicole Evelina's Guinevere Trilogy is a glorious homage to Arthurian lore. It was so worth the wait!
Evelina's Guinevere is no shrinking violet but rather a fierce, strongwilled force to be reckoned with. The story begins with King Arthur's brave knights catching up with her and Sir Lancelot relaying the info that Arthur wishes her to return to Camelot. She would be pardoned for her affair with Lancelot.
Does she return? What fate awaits Sir Lancelot? Those familiar with these

If you like history , battle, conspiracy , and myth you will enjoy this book. Well put together although too many detailed battles for this reader. A little more romance would have been enjoyable. Author did a splendid job of research and interpolation.
