Seductive and Spellbinding
Do yourself a favour and grab hold of this new release from Samantha MacLeod now! It’s a beautifully written erotic novella which presents the reader with a highly original twist on one of my favourite tropes – Beauty and the Beast, this time delving deep into Norse mythology.
Baldr the Beautiful awakes to find himself in the realm of the dead and is desperate to return to his life to help keep the peace. He sets out to petition Queen Hel with this in mind. However, the

Lo and behold, Samantha MacLeod hits another one out of the park. Out of the realm, even.

description

If you don’t know anything about Norse myth, you’re still going to love this book. If you do know a thing or two about a thing or two, you’re going to LOVE this book. Death and Beauty is kind of like a re-telling, but it’s more like a behind the scenes, which is something I love about MacLeod’s storytelling. She has such a unique way of blending modern conflicts into ancient stories and bringing them to life

A few months ago I was introduced to the very interesting, sexy, page turners by Samantha MacLeod and I was suitably surprised at the calibre of her story telling ability.
She pulls you straight into her take on these myths and off you go, living amongst the Norse Gods and enjoying every minute of it.
In this book we meet up with Hel, Queen of the Dead Realm and Baldr, the Beautiful. Lots of action, many surprises, an interfering mother and altogether a really entertaining book.
I am quite happy to

Romantic and sexually intense.

I liked this story a lot. The two main characters are warm and alive, even though they are dead. The sexual heat is intense and the love that grows between them is very heart warming. I would recommend this book to anyone.

A well written interesting storyline. Baldr wakes up dead and bargains to be freed. Hel tasks him with teaching her something new in three days and he will be free. The characters are interesting and likable. The chemistry is good. The plot flows well with the story and is filled with drama, romance and laughter. I would recommend this book.

Definitely recommended for fans of mythology romances -- Norse, in particular!

At first, I wasn't sure if I could get onboard with Baldr's very modern way of speaking, but before I knew it, I was falling in love with him and Hel and the world MacLeod crafted.

The romance between the love interests is sweet, tender, and desperate. I think what resonated most with me about it was that these are two people no one ever really acknowledges -- two people no one truly knows. Hel is basically the ice que

Who knew the land of the dead could be so full of life. From the beautiful descriptions Hel has created a paradise.
Hel and Baldr make a surprisingly sweet couple. Their romance was slow to start but it quickly ignited.

This was a surprisingly good read. MacLeod takes a few liberties with the legend of Baldur, son of Odin and Frigg, in order to make it a love story, but hey, it works!

Death and Beauty: An Erotic Fantasy Romance Inspired by Norse Mythology by Samantha MacLeod is a paranormal erotica story about two people and three days. This story is a mythological romance that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat one minute and needing ice water the next. This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed her style of writing, her development of her characters and knowledge of myths. Her attention to detail really just pulls you in to the story. I just finished reading Death and Beauty by Samantha MacLeod.

I feel like I have to be completely honest and lay all of my cards on the table, when writing a review - so here goes!

I am Icelandic, born and raised, so you can imagine how giddy I was when I came across this book in the vast world of the internet!

I’ve always been fascinated by Norse Mythology - growing up in Iceland will do that as I used to hear about all kinds of old myths about the land I call home and the mighty beings that hel

This is a novella that tells the story of what happened to the Norse god Baldr after his death and how he met the goddess Hel who rules the Norse underworld rules and fell in love with her. It is a fairly explicit and erotic story, which is a gutsy story to write when your heroine is described in myth as appearing half a normal woman and half skeletal or corpse-like. In this novel half of her is beautiful and half is skeletal, she dresses poorly but is funny and incredibly smart and well-learned ...more

Death and Beauty is an erotic fantasy novel written by Samantha MacLeod.
The one-eyed, raven-flanked god Odin, the hammer-wielding, humanity-protecting thunder-god Thor, the jötunn Loki and the feathered cloak-clad goddess Freyja. These are all gods from Norse mythology and this mythology is what this book is based on.

Death and Beauty by Samantha MacLeod- is a wonderful, modern reimagining of an Old Norse myth. It is a very explicit and sexy.
We meet the charming and beautiful Baldr, a Norse God, who has died and awoken in the realm of the dead. Death and Beauty is an awesome example of why you shouldn’t judge by looks. Just because someone has a grotesque outside doesn’t mean that their inside is the same.
Baldr thought he was invincible. His mother had traveled the nine realms and squeezed promises from everyone and everything that they wouldn’t harm or kill her son. So imagine his surprise when he wakes up in the otherworld. His first order of business is to try and bargain his way out of there. He’s needed on Asgard, There’s no tell

A wonderful, sexy retelling of a beautiful Norse myth. Baldr the Beautiful is the son of Frigg and Óðinn. His mother walked all through the Nine Realms and extracted promises from everything that they wouldn’t harm her son. This makes him effectively immortal but somehow he still ends up in the realm of the dead. Baldr knows that the only way to return to Asgard is by convincing the daughter of Loki, Queen of the dead, to let him go back. Queen Hel makes a deal with Baldr and gives him three day ...more
