Are there angels among us? Alex Meyers, a young, brilliant and dynamic mogul died that day on the mountain when he was buried in an avalanche. He was saved by an angel, but not just any angel, the Superior of the Angels and he has fallen head over heels for the beautiful and mysterious woman who quickly disappeared. In his desperate search to find her, he discovers the unbelievable.
Alex could very well be the reincarnation of the angel, Abaddon, said to be the one to defeat Lucifer.

I received a free review copy from the author of this book in exchange for an honest review. I ended up DNFing* this book at 13%. This was not because this book was bad, but rather because for some reason it just wasn't for me.

I didn't have any major issues with this book that would make me not like it. In fact, I rather liked the main character Alex and there was nothing problematic. The reason I ended up putting it down and calling it finished was because I spent the whole time I was reading i

‘The head fell off the shoulders and onto the ground with a thud and rolled away.‘

J. F. Cain makes her literary debut with a series she calls WAR ETERNAL and Book 1 of that series is this very impressive novel ANGELS’ WHISPERS. It is refreshing to discover an author who writes in the paranormal romance genre who is as interested in philosophical questions as she is in suspenseful and strange characters and situations.

Cain offers a hint of her thought processes with a brief passage before he sto

War Eternal: Book 1: Angels' Whispers is not your typical novel on angels. J.F. Cain awes us with a paranormal romance between the angel Aranes and human Alex. The aggressive energy guru, Alexander Meyers, finds he cannot give love and affection like most men, so he wards off all females. Aranes was assigned to watch over Alex and she does this diligently, though it is unheard of for one angel to be appointed to just one human. Her feelings for him are unnatural, and it baffles all the other cel ...more

This was another book that has been sitting on my TBR list for quite a while. And that’s too bad because I enjoyed it quite a lot.

So, as the blurb says, we have angels falling in love with humans, we have right and wrong, good and evil and broken rules. “Angels’ Whispers” is a complex book that touches a very delicate subject and even details it at some point: religion. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a theological writing, but a fantastic story about defeating evil at its core, with a touch of

I've always been fascinated with Angels. There was even a point in my life where I was bordering on obsessed with them. I collected angel figurines and even read a lot of books on them. I even had a notebook where I had notes about them. I listed the names of the most popular angels, their special characteristics and what they can do. I also noted those very unique names so I could use them to name my kids. I still have that notebook until now. No kids still though. So, when the author reached o ...more

Outside of what us mere mortals perceive, there is a never-ending struggle between the forces of Good and Evil, led by the Superior of all Angels, Aranes and the arch-enemy, the fallen angel Lucifer. This is the premise of Angels’ Whispers, by J.F. Cain, a fascinating look into the world of the metaphysical and that most elusive of human’s theoretical constructions – life after death. Unwittingly, wealthy Energy mogul and free-thinking skeptic, Al

×Angel Whispers by J.F. Cain

Genre: Fantasy, Adventure, Romance

About the book: Alex Meyers is protected by the Superior of Angels. This protector breaks a rule and brings him back to life when an avalanche should kill him. Alex has now saw his protectors human form and fallen in love. While looking for her he discovers that he might be more than human.

Review: The book was a bit longer than the books I have been recently reading but it was not hard at all to get through. This book had romance, adv

Angels’ Whispers has a unique atmosphere that pulled me in and held me ‘til the last page. It is quite suspenseful, the pacing is tight, and the plot takes just enough unexpected turns to keep things from becoming too “familiar”. I have grown rather particular with my reading tastes lately, but if you are a fan of fantasy and romance, I would recommend giving this book a go.

Overall, I thought this was a brilliant read. A book that tells of love, conflict and a bottle for the souls of humanity.

The atmosphere for me felt dark for how the book is set out.
At the end of the book, I felt sorry for Alric. Lyla is not the person you would want to meet if she was real.

Other than that, it was a great book and would love to read this again and again.

Oh My Gods. What a book! This is the first book in the series and it was not just great but this one was phenomenal. This story was so well-written and amazingly thought out.
This is Alex story and the celestial Angel Arenes. She is the Angel that is over all of them. But she is falling for a human man. This is a really religious type book as well as a romance. And you don't have to be Christian to read this book or any religion for that matter. This one follows the scientific mind trying to com

Angels' Whispers (War Eternal #1) by J.F. Cain is a fantastic book that examines the forces of good and evil. This is paranormal romance at its finest, with a few distinctions. First, the author doesn't dwell too long in any one direction, a lot of ground is covered here, romance, good, evil, philosophy, and more. Moreover the author proposes that angels live among us. Who wouldn't want their own personal angel to look over them, to have life eternal? Alex Myers is one such person, but unfortuna ...more

I always have a weak spot in my heart for this genre, this level of fantasy and celestial elements are my cup of tea and this book does not disappoint in any way, not in the slightest.
Angels are among us, someone is watching and taking care of you, if your worst moment is about to happen, they can intervene and save you, but the price is high and the consequences can be dangerous, can the power of love overcome such danger? I know I said several times before but I don’t like romance in stories,

Good vs evil today. Alex is an uber-rich businessman with a penchant for danger. Why not? He has an angel watching over him.
There is no short version of the story. It takes place today but has been going on through the ages. When he falls it is for his angel. Not a one-sided affair. Finding out who she is and who he may be puts their relationship in peril. When you are supposed to conquer Lucifer life is just not what you anticipated. When you have to sacrifice what is most important to you tha

This book is an unique and interesting read with relatable characters. I’ve never read Ms. Cain before, but if this is what I can expect from her I will be reading more in the future.

I’ll start with the positive from my reading perspective. It’s not like any other paranormal book out there. She chronicles the struggles/war between the Angels and Demons. Angel Aranes vs. the Fallen Angel Lucifer with human Alex Meyers in the middle. Aranes saves Alex when he dies in avalanche breaking one of t

Interesting Fantasy tale with a modern elements touch!
A fantasy fiction proposing the idea of angels looking out for humans. The book is based on the theme of good vs evil, light vs dark and based on the fact that there is someone looking out for each of us (our angel) and that they will protect us from danger but there are unknown consequences. Like in this story Alex dies, but his angel brings him back to life, but then there are twists of romance and the plot changes the course. The plot is b

So much information

This was a great book for those who enjoy books filled with knowledge (the accuracy of the knowledge is undetermined). However, the author of this book did a lot of research. In addition, the book provides several dimensions of the supernatural/paranormal, making it all the more interesting.

I wanted to like this book, I really did.  I wanted to get swept up in this self described "epic tale".  Unfortunately, I didn't.  The reality was that I struggled to get into the story at all.

I'm afraid that I found the writing style to be dry and a little laboured for my tastes, such that the narrative felt like a dispassionate recounting than an engaging story.

Although I tried, this was, unfortunately, a DNF.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
