I just LOVED this book! Beau and Cassidy were great characters that kept things interesting all the way through the novel! I would categorize this more as a romantic suspense novel because I felt the romance was a big aspect of this story but still had a highly enjoyable mystery. From the beginning, there is a lot of page turning suspense going on that keeps you hooked throughout this fun and thrilling novel. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great romantic suspense with some ni ...more

Beau is such a sweetheart. My heart just broke for him in Beyond Reason. How tragic to lose the love of your live to cancer at such a young age. If he makes a muck of his chance for true love with Cassidy because of that I'm going to be really, really disappointed. I am no a fan of the "I can't love you because the love of my life died, but I can bang your brains out" Troup. Of

Beyond Danger enthralls readers with lots of suspense and a romance that begins with a very uneasy alliance.

First, let me just say that the romance between Beau and Cassidy is one that is a sizzling and heated one that keeps readers guessing throughout the story. Both characters are strong and appealing which draws readers into their story and the romance is a roller coaster ride of turbulence that keeps readers glued to the pages.

Anticipation steadily builds throughout the story, not only in re

I enjoyed Beau's story as much as Linc's. Cassidy was an awesome kickass character and great for Beau. The mystery of Beau's father's death takes all kinds of twists and turns. I look forward to reading Josh's story next. I hope she continues beyond #3 like she has before. Plenty of guys left to have a great story.

Kat Martin has the ability to draw a vivid picture that readers will feel as if they are in the story. Beyond Danger is a well crafted romance story that will keep readers glued to the pages. The author has the ability to keep a steady pace as the story moves forward as she fills in the details of the people and the world she created. The romance is front and center with the suspense taking a back to seat many times.

Received an ARC at no cost to author. It tend to enjoy Kat Martins book, I have been following her for years and as much as I was anxiously awaiting for this book it wasn't my favorite, not bad just not my favorite. So we met Beau in last book Beyond Reason, he was Linc's best friend and I was intrigued by him. Poor Beau found his father murdered and even though they had a difficult relationship he still wanted to know who killed him. The Senator (Beau's dad) had felt that someone was following ...more

This book started out as a thriller. Finding his father murdered, Beau is found standing over the body with the murder weapon in his hand. So it begins. What started out sizzling quickly fizzled into lust, a little action, get into an altercation, have sex, find a clue, have sex... so silly. So tiring and boring. Without spoiling the ending, (for those that make it that far) how the plot got SO off base is beyond me. The author had to think of new ridiculous avenues for the mystery so the couple ...more

Really long and boring.
Read till 100 pages and then gave up. It was just not interesting. Characters were also pretty bland.

This is the second book in the trilogy and although I have not read the first book (yet!) I had no trouble following the storyline. Kat Martin is one of my favourite author's and never fails to deliver a story full of suspense and well-crafted romance that keeps the reader engaged. Beau and Cassidy meet at his father's home and he assume's she is his father's latest love interest. She is definit

Another exciting story in The Texas Trilogy. Beau and Cassidy start out on the wrong foot but have to start working together when Stewart, Beau's Father is killed. Seems something just does not make sense. There does not seem to be a reason for the murder. Stewart is a wheeler dealer who has made some enemies but all of the obvious ones are cleared. There is a exciting twist to the story line. Martin builds a large amount of tension as the plot continues to develop. Beau and Cassidy are both int ...more

I liked it well enough to keep reading it though it seemed... stretched out, too long at 367 pages.

I recommend it both as a romance and as a mystery. It does well with both.

The main characters were well matched and a step above the average.

The end seemed to wrap up too fast. I spent the book waiting for it to get somewhere and the clues were so spread out and slow in coming then suddenly there's a breakthrough in their mystery almost at the very end and there's an avalanche of information and

I was bored. Didn’t connect with characters, only finished to see who killed his father, if I was right or not. I normally like Kat Martin, but it’s been a while since I’ve read one of her books, and I don’t think I will pick up any new ones.

This was a well-written romantic suspense that kept me turning pages as I tried to figure out what was going on. Beau Reese and his father, a Texas state senator, had never seen eye to eye. Beau preferred to keep his distance. Until the day the woman who ran the diner in town, Josie, and her nineteen year old daughter, Missy, came to see him. Missy is pregnant and the baby is the senator's, a fact proven by a DNA test. Beau's father offered Missy money for an abortion but when Missy refused, the ...more

Book Two of the Texas Trilogy by Kat Martin, Beyond Danger is just a good as the first book. Martin remains true to what she does best and the action and mystery is wonderfully done letting you in on the POV of the antagonists. The hot romance does try to take a backseat to the mystery, and it makes sense both of the are professionals who want to keep working together in a professional manner, until the were-still-alive affirmation sex, then they manage to keep a professional relation

When Beau funds out his dad has gotten nineteen year old, Missy, pregnant he is beyond pissed. When he confronts his father and they argue he has no idea it will be the last time he sees him alive.

Cassidy has been hired to find the answers to the threat that Sen. Reese has felt, she doesn't realize that includes his own son. When she walks in and Reece has been stabbed and his son is holding the weapon she thinks she may have just found the threat.

I'd found this one to be quite boring, and I was so disappointed! I've read other books from her and was quite taken with them. So imagine my surprise that this one just didn't hold weight. The lack of [realistic] cursing was one thing-- I actually wonder if the author had developed some sort of aversion to cursing-- but it was QUITE another to read an appalling description of the book's only black character.

Beyond Danger by Kat Martin is the second book in the Texas trilogy, and my first book by this author. This book is a romantic thriller. Beau Reese is a Texas millionaire who has to put up with his father, Stewart, a retired state senator who gets a teenage girl pregnant. When Stewart is murdered, Beau is the prime suspect. Cassidy Jones is a private investigator Stewart hired to find out who wanted him dead. Together Beau and Cassidy set out to solve the murder. If your into steamy hot romance ...more

Kat Martin is a prolific writer of romantic suspense and she does not disappoint in her latest addition to her Texas trilogy “Beyond Danger”. Beau Reese is a retired race car driver who has spent his lifetime trying to distance himself from growing up as the son of a famous Texas Senator who is known for his less than scrupulous behavior. Cassidy Jones is a private investigator who has been hired by the Senator to find out who has been following and investigating him, even though Cassidy has bee ...more

I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, and was really looking forward to this story.

It took a few pages to get into it, but in true Kat Martin fashion, once it grabbed on, it didn't let go.

I remember Beau from Linc & Carly's story so it was so nice to get to know him. Cassidy is a strong little spitfire and their story is fast paced and full of adventure.

There's steamy parts, there's suspenseful parts, and there's a whole lot of whodunnit and it's all great! Can't wait for the next book!

The second book in the Texas Trilogy is fantastic! Reading Beau's story after meeting him in "Beyond Reason" was all you could want in a suspense story of Beau and Cassidy. Their romance is blazing hot, but the mystery and secrets that draw them together and keep them together will keep you reading this book till you finish it! I totally recommend it as well as the first book in the series! These alpha males and the strong women who can handle them are amazing, Kat Martin will keep you reading m ...more

Exciting romantic suspense. Interesting family and friend relationships. Strong woman meets strong, but damaged man. Their lives are endangered. Cool cars! I skipped the intimate sex scenes, but the story kept me engaged from beginning to end. Not a simple solution! I look forward to reading the next one in the trilogy. The publisher provided a copy via NetGalley for my voluntary review.

This book starts off with a bang, pulling the reader into what promises to be a riveting, suspense-filled story involving interesting, dynamic characters. Unfortunately, for me personally, that really strong opening fizzled out by about 20% into the book. The pace of the story was bogged down by what I felt were unimportant details, and I found myself losing interest and skimming large chunks of text. Also, although the mystery aspect of the book is strong, the romance part takes more of a backs ...more

Kat Martin’s new series Texas Trilogy is classical love story with contemporary problems and villains.

As I said about the first book - It’s a cookie cutter story, with all the necessary ingredients just the frosting is a bit different in next books.

In Beyond Danger the storyteller is Lincoln’s friend Beau, and the story starts shortly before his father funeral. He’s mega rich and his father’s murder is something he wants to solve himself. Of course his father hired shortly before he died young

If ever there were a perfect time for a story about a corrupt senator, now is it. In Kat Martin’s romantic suspense, Beyond Danger (out Jan. 30), not only do we get the second installment of the Texas Trilogy, we get a zinger of a dirtbag.

Sen. Stewart Beaumont Reece may have just retired, but he’s not letting that slow him down … in business, in politics or in knocking up a 19-year-old. There’s very little redeeming qualities about this 60-year-old, a fact that does not escape his estranged son,

I have never read Kat Martin’s work prior, so this was a welcome book, I was pleased from beginning to almost the end (Sorry, I hate sappy, romantic endings!)

Beau Reese is a Texas hottie! He is wealthy, good looking and a bit reckless; but, not as reckless as his 60 year old father, former state senator, Stewart Reese, who has recently impregnated a local teenager.

Beau Reece was a lot of things in his life. Troubled juvenile. Racing legend. Successful businessman. One description he did not think he would have is “murder suspect.” Found over his father’s stabbed body by PI Cassidy Jones, the authorities are certainly eyeing him up for the crime. Cassidy, however, is eyeing him up for other reasons….

Kat Martin delivers plenty of action, suspense and romance in her second Texas Trilogy book! The blurb for the book gives you the outline of the plot, but it’s
