On the Side of the Angel by J. David Core is an intense crime fiction that has all the right ingredients for a thriller in this genre. To be precise, it is an exciting and absorbing read.

Lina Forman is a ghost who has left her old life and anything that can point to her previous existence, behind. She starts all over as Lina and has a vendetta planned. But to get there she needs to prove her worth. Attie and Dino are two troubled teenagers in love and take on heists for thrill. But things go ter

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Recommends it for: Thriller fans
This is a rather unusual story, with several interlinking plot lines all bought together by a rather mysterious character called 'the Angel' who exists by being a fixer and trading in favours to help her, usually, criminal clients.
The Angel's past is briefly explained, but enough is left out to keep the mystery, but even with this abbreviated back-story her character is still complex and believable.
Each of the plot lines is detailed and clearly explained so even though there are the interlinking

If you were thinking this book had something to do with religion, think again.

I think this best fits in the Crime fiction genre.

The woman known as the Bartering Angel has a past that haunts her dreams. During the waking hours she helps "fix" problems. Her current venture involves convenience stores.

I really enjoyed how Mr. Core put the series of events together. I don't recall reading any books with this type of scenario.

Warning: There is some violence as well as adult language and situations.
