This SL Annual Recipes cookbook is amazing! I was able to glean a list 11 pages long of recipes we tried while I was reading or will be trying in the near future. Fantastico!! Here are some highlights:

Orange Vinaigrette pg. 229
Grilled Shrimp with Citrus Salsa pg. 141

We have long, hot summers. These are going to be great on the grill and some fantastic salads:
Honey Glazed Chops pg. 200
Sanibel Island Chicken pg. 66
Grilled Sweet & Sour Shrimp pg. 100
Roasted Chicken with Lemon, Garlic, & Rosemary pg. 61

Seasoned Smoked Turkey pg. 85
Frosted Cauliflower pg. 105

Good ole' fashioned Southern meal:
Buttermilk Pecan Chicken pg. 252
Squash Pickles pg. 119
Eleanor's Macaroni & Cheese pg. 252
Sour Cream Dinner Rolls pg. 253
Green Beans Amandine pg. 238
Blackberry Dumplings pg. 253

Since I'm always on the go and looking for easy recipes:
Chicken Caesar Pasta pg. 87
Breakfast Cookies pg. 52

This is just a teeny, tiny sneak peak at the trove of recipes you'll find in this book. I filled up 11 pages of recipes and the ones I've tried have been great. Most of these are made from scratch using fresh ingredients. I love breaking them out by what is "in season" so that we both enjoy a small carbon footprint and the deliciousness of ingredients being able to ripen on the vine. If you're looking for a good reference for some great meals for you, your partner, or your whole family pick this one up!

Southern Living used to consistently offer good recipes and meal plans that turned out well first time, every time. Any of the annual books between the mid 90s to about 2007 are still good additions to a cookbook collection. After 2007, Southern Living seemed to lose its focus and start following the fad of the moment.
