Tonight I stake my claim and take what’s mine. She thinks we’re only friends, and that’s all we’ll ever be. I have one night to show there's more sizzling between us. I’ve never had trouble finding a gorgeous woman to take to bed. I don’t want just anyone. I want her. I crave a taste of those full lips. I hunger for the scent of her skin. I need to feel her writhe beneath me, screaming my name. As a prince, I shouldn’t be looking for a hook-up. Certainly not with my sexy, red-headed and curvy co-pilot, Gwen. I have a hands-off policy, but I’ve lusted after her for too long to resist my obsession. I’ve waited for this moment with the woman of my dreams.

The Hero:Anders - Third son of the king, the middle child. Anders tends to fall in love with unavailable females. He sees this as safe, since he is afraid of bond rejection syndrome, where two people are bonded but not in love with each other. He recently talked his father into buying a bunch of new fighter ships to protect their starship and all the people on it. Though at the launch party he got drunk and decided to fly one and crashed it. He knew he couldn’t mess up again and needed to clean up his act.
The heroine:Gwen - She was a pilot and she came along with the Auxem as part of the workforce. She was newly married and her husband was a flight mechanic. She was partnered with Anders because two pilots were needed to fly a scout ship and Anders was banned from flying the fighters.
The Story: Anders was attracted to Gwen. Just one more example of his feelings for unavailable women. He was used to her always talking about her husband, but lately she hadn’t mentioned him at all and there was a sadness in her eyes that hadn’t been there before. He finds out that her husband left her for another woman and they are now divorced.
This book was narrated by Connor Brown and Piper Fairweather who are the best narrators in this series so far. Piper has a soft but sort of deep, yet feminine voice which is pleasant to listen to. Though her voice doesn’t change much when she is doing a male voice. Connor has an emotive voice and is also very enjoyable to listen to.
I like that Anders and Gwen are best friends and co-workers before anything happens. There was also a very good storyline about space pirates taking over their ship. Though there were still a few plot holes and these two both wavered too long about how they felt for each other, but overall this was a pretty good book. Though I am getting a bit tired of the wings being secret and the fact that they are so painful, I am hoping someone can fix that issue in the next book.
I was pretty amused, haa Anders is pretty clever alright I liked him, poor Gwen having to get all of that punishment in their relationship and she couldnt decide either why ?
now this indecision was part of the enchantment of the book because they kept making mistakes so basic it was funny, now the piloting was so hot really.
and I liked that this one too intertwined with other books on terramates series that was a super plus.
Loved Anders and Gwen! My favorite in the series so far! ANDERS is the third book (and the third brother) in Lisa Lace's newest series, Auxem, about the five Prince's from the planet who have come to earth in search of brides. It's also essentially the sixteenth book in her TerraMates series, since the bride's are found, with permission from Earth's government officials, through TerraMates. However, this book is a stand-alone, full-length science fiction romance with no cliffhangers.
Unlike his two older brothers, Arnon and Ayries, Anders didn't choose a wife from among the women in Earth. Anders is a pilot with exceptional skill... and the swagger to go with it, and this is where his focus lies. He has no time for love. Especially when the woman he loved most died. He refuses to go through that pain again.
Gwen was not part of the Brides program, but she is on board the Auxem's ship as a pilot, Anders' co-pilot and greatest temptation. They make a great team and have become close friends. When everyone on the Auxem ship is suddenly in danger it's up to Anders and Gwen to save them all. Their great teamwork will be tested and so will Anders hope to keep from falling in love with Gwen, and Gwen's hope to not fall for the handsome Prince she thinks would never want her. Both are burning with desire for the other, but the Auxem can mate with only one woman and it's for life, are they ready for that commitment?
Great story! Lots of danger, adventure, excitement and all set in brilliant futuristic, alien settings. There's also plenty of laughs, witty dialogue, and some creative sexy times for a couple who can't quite go all the way!! 4.5 stars
~The narration for Anders was excellent. The best so far in all of Lisa Lace's books I've listened to so far. There is good pacing in the reading, real emotion and good variances demonstrated in the different characters. It made a huge difference for me.
Anders and Gwen are both pilots, he seems like the biggest bad boy out of all the the brothers as the middle child. He originally was in love with his co pilot partner but since she was married couldn’t act on it.
Anders: An Auxem Novel Paperback – April 30, 2017 by Lisa Lace (Author) I received a complimentary copy for review purposes.
Recieving a Lisa Lace Novel, especially an ARC, is a little like waking up on Christmas and realizing every present is just for you.
In Anders, within the first few pages of Anders's own narration, I had him pegged as somewhere between a less roguish Han Solo and a my father, a WWII/Vietnam/Korea and Cold War lead flight crew bombadier. Why my father? The twice he fell out of he sky, both time landing in farms with lots of lonely farmer's daughters. Yeah, my dad was a scoundrel.
The Auxem novels are spin-offs of the Mail-Order-Bride series, TerraMates. A quick backstory, all Auxem females have died because of a virus, leaving men who can only bond with one female for life searching the galaxy for women to breed and love. And they are running out of time. The virus will eventually wipe out the male's fertility – eventually being a matter of months. TerraMates's owner's hope on start providing women not knowing that the Auxem have a secret, one that might keep human women from bearing the babies that are so desperately needed to keep the race going.
Anders is the middle child of the five Royal sons in charge of this project as their Dad has gone a little whacko and cruel. He is the wild eye pilot, the one who always falls for the woman he can't have.
Their relationship extends past the bedroom as as co-pilots, it is nice to see the alpha-male working in tandem with anyone, particulaly, his chosen mate. The push and pull that occurs in the Class 4 ship gave an sense of equality between the characters we have rarely seen in romance novels and if there were an award for, I would put this continuing scene up for best male/female interaction without sex. Also, Gwen is as likely and often does save Anders from himself as much as he saves her.
The equality makes his take control moments in the bedroom, changing closet or whereever he can find, that much sexier, as she is not subordinate to him anywhere else.
It is also nice that we are seeing an integretion of her novels as we see in my personal favorite series, Sherrilynn Kenyon's the League:The Rise of Nemisis. Because of this, while not necessary, one should probably kick in the full bid for a boxed set and follow them the way her ARC readers have.
Overall, Anders is her best built book. My only complaint is how short her books are becoming. The more interesting the character, the more interesing the conflict, the shorter the actualy book. Which is why the bringing together of characters from her most recent novels is nice but should allow for longer adventures and longer romance. Ms. Lace clearly has a lot of talent that needs to be unleashed soon!
4 and 7/8th's shining flyng stars for character that remind me of my father and Han Solo, Leia and Sauscony from Catherine Asaro's Ruby Dynasty. Rounded up, that's a 5 out of 5.
The author and the narrators did a swell job bringing Anders and Gwen's story to life. Anders is the third oldest Madellan brother, the middle child. As such, he's known as a bit of a screwup. While being super protective of his two younger brothers, his two older brother still look at him as the mischievous little brother of his youth. He admits his has earned the moniker, but he's still disappointed sometimes when they look at him with those disappointed, distrustful eyes. His biggest problem, however, is the fact that he's in love with his partner and co-pilot, his married partner, Gwen. Gwen is a human woman brought onto the Auxem ship as a pilot. Her husband, a fellow human, is a mechanic on the ship. After almost a year aboard the ship, her husband leaves her for another human woman he met on the ship and leaves to go back to earth. She hides this from Anders for two weeks but, once he finds out all bets are off. Now the two have to contend with their sexual attraction for one another, all while trying to escape an invasion of their ship by pirates. Once they manage to get off the ship they have to fight for help to save everyone else left on the ship, before the pirates kill all the men and sale all the women into slavery. Gwen and Anders story is one of second chances, action, romance, hidden feelings, fear, bravery and love. I really enjoyed reading their story and I'm looking forward to reading the last two brother's stories as well.
In an attempt to avoid falling in love Anders is always attracted to woman who are unobtainable but what happens when his best friend, secret crush and partner is suddenly free of the marriage that has kept her from him?! Basically his world is flipped upside down and so was mine as a reader! I did not realize from the last book that Gwen and her husband were not from Auxem so imagine my surprise when Gwen finally broke the news to Anders that her marriage was over! I was shocked! I was also excited because we all knew that what Anders really wanted was a chance at Gwen but did her failed marriage mean she would not trust love again? Sure enough they are thrust in to the middle of a fight for their lives and everyone on the ship. The adventure that ensues leads them on a galactic game of hide, seek and conquer and the adrenaline rush pushes Gwen to cross binderies that Anders just cannot handle. Will they be able to save their fellow passengers and their hearts? Sit down, relax and follow their ultimate journey to find out!
The bad boy pilot who is safely and secretly in love with his married copilot. A human who thought she was in love enough for marriage once. But when the tables turn and there's nothing holding them back, it's just a matter of time before this pair crash into each other. However, a turn of events and a dire situation put things on hold while they try to rescue everyone aboard the transport, including themselves. This story was another adventure filled with action and laced with over the top angsty romance. Some of the back and forth was hard to believe but it was still cute in an "Earth Girls Are Easy", 80's-kitschy kind of way. The Audiobook narrators have been used throughout this series and are fun to listen to. There's a few little things which throw me off - some ill fitting vocal inflections and extended pauses - but I dont know if it's a reflection on the narrators or just the wording in the book. Maybe a little of both. I'm still enjoying reading through and following the adventures of these brothers, and looking forward to the next adventure.
Well...I said Allex was my favorite story until the next one...I was right! Actually, they are all my faves. Gwen and Ander's story runs concurrently with Allex and Priya's. They are pilots, partners, and best friends. Anders is infatuated with Gwen, but she is married. Anders won't cross that line. Besides, in true Auxem tradition, he can't MAKE love without both sides being IN love or they would end up with Bond Rejection Syndrome...which would lead to both partners going insane at best, or dead at the worst. They are not locked in the ships panic room when the pirates boardn so they decided to use one of the fighter jets to go for help against the pirates. The road is far from smooth and their chance of success looks more impossible every second! To find out what transpires, just read the book! Wonderful series...books are best read in order, that way the storyline flows much better!
I received this book from the author and I am voluntarily giving my own review.
Anders and Gwen make a wonderful couple, if only they could agree they loved each other. Gwen has a harder time admitting it and ends up hurting Anders. As fighter pilots they are top notch but watching their denial was hard, then heartbreaking, yet they persevered and overcame and I was ecstatic. I mean, I knew they'd get together, the how was always in question. The pirates were an inconvenience and I'm sorry those aboard the transport went through such fear and uncertainty. Even just going along for the ride I found myself swearing at them and telling them to just "leave, and to go away." I think it's hilarious and fitting what happens to them. And poor Allex, he's got trouble on his hands and heart.
Gwen is keeping a big secret from her best friend and piloting partner, Anders. Even bigger than the inappropriate thoughts she has about him! With her husband abandoning her she is now single and able to act on the feelings she has for Anders but he was a buddy of her husbands and she doesn't want to burn the fabulous friendship they have.
Anders has always been a bit of a rebel. He nearly crashed a new fighter and has found himself on a time out by his father! He wants to show his family that he has grown up but when pirates attack the ship can he abandon his family in order to save them?
Anders and Gwen are so wrapped up in their denial of feelings! I loved the way they work together, so in sync! The pirates add a great edge to the story and I can't wait for more!
After the death of his mother, Anders has a phobia of getting attached to women only to have them die. He avoids attachments by falling for unattainable women. Gwen is about as unattainable as they come- she's is flight partner, his friend and married. Well..she was married. all bets are off now. Before Anders can reach for a possible bond, he and Gwen are going to have to find a way to save their friends and family from pirates. Hang on for a bumpy flight! I'm hooked on this series after only two stories. Definitely going to have to read about the other brothers. Characters from previous stories by Ms Lace continue to make appearances...guess I need to check out their stories too. My TBR list continues to grow!
*I received an ARC of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Anders best friend and co pilot is Gwen. She has been married a year and found out her husband was cheating on her and he leaves the spaceship with the woman he was cheating with. Anders wants Gwen and when he finds out that her husband is out of the picture he is going to make a move on her. This is a great love story. It has everything, it made me laugh, cry, and the sex heats up my kindle. This group of Auxem Novel are beautiful love stories of men and woman falling in love, Lisa Lace knows just how to do it. I highly recommend this story, Anders and they other books in this group. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy.
Anders is a pilot, as is his almost-perfect partner is Gwen. They complement each other in most ways, but Gwen is married….or was. Once her divorce is known, they both are tempted beyond reason. But we all know that an Auxem may only mate once as it creates a life bond – and if they are not in love there are dire consequences.
This book is especially fun if you have read the previous in the series as this one overlaps the previous story. It is entertaining to get a different viewpoint of the same storyline.
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *** -
Anders a prince and doesn't really want a mate. He has no time for love. He is a pilot but he does have his dyes on his co-pilot and friend Gwen. They make a great team. When the ship us in danger. The work together to save everyone. Gwen is not part of the brides program and she doesn't want to fall for Ander, he is a play boy and couldn't want her that way. And yet both are on fire for each other. Problem is Auxem mate for life. Can they handle that?
Lots of action, great characters and fun story lines. Science fiction romance fans should love this one.
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly enjoyed it.
I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I try to listen to ALL of Lisa Lace's books because they ever disappoint me, and this one was no exception. I love her books. She is a very creative and talented writer. She brings me in from the beginning and never lets go. I can't stop listening to her works. Always looking forward to the next one. The narrators did an excellent job of this book, its story and its characters. Every book of hers is a standalone and can be read separately. One of the great things that she does. Every book has a story that is very different from any others that she has written.
And the Auxem Series continues with the third brother Anders. I love how this series is all about these 5 brothers and you still get to read about them in all of the books. There are stand alone and not dependent on each other. And of course there is a happy ending. I look forward to reading about the next brother, which will be Allex. He and his love make an appearance in this story and I'm excited to read about them and their story. I'm just sorry that there are only five brothers and then we'll be done. Hopefully Ms. Lace will find a way to continue. I know I'd love to read more about these men from Auxem!
Auxem Prince Anders has been in love with his best friend Gwen ever since she became his co-pilot. Unfortunately the beautiful and curvy Gwen is married so Anders can only love her in secret. Gwen had clicked with the handsome Anders when they met a year ago, when she and Jake were happy newlyweds. Now Jake has just divorced her and returned to Earth with his pregnant girlfriend to get married. When Anders finds out that Gwen is now available, all bets are off. But will Gwen be ready for love so soon after her divorce?
Lisa Lace delivers an action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story that you won't be able to put down
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book
Honestly, this was my favorite couple in the whole series so far, TM all together, maybe because Gwen is a different type of woman, and because their story developed from some kind of friendship, which is much more natural to me and everything was very hot and interesting, their adventure and all the dangers and trouble they went true... She is strong and competent, sassy and witty, and he is... just wow... Well, all the brothers are, veeery nice race ( droool )... To bad that is so painful, but so worth it! In any case, a great pastime!
I LOVED Anders! Oh what can I say. I knew there was something serious Anders was dealing with. I had had a good feeling it was over Gwen. And I was right! I absolutely loved Gwen and think she matched perfectly with Anders.
I have only read a few of Lisa Lace's Terrmates/Auxem series so far. With each book I am learning more and more of the world...no wait...the WORLDS she has built. Lace has left me intrigued and excited to read more of her worlds.
I really like this Auxem series the story line and characters are well written. I love the story of Anders and Gwen. The best relationships always come from friendships and with Gwen and Anders they are best friends and co-pilots. This story has plenty of action and romance to keep you reading till the end. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.
What I like about Lisa Lace's Auxem series is how each couple has their own individual story and can be read as a standalone but if you read them in order; the connections of each of the other Auxem males become clearer.
I really enjoyed this couples story but admit I love the series. Kudos to Lisa Lace on another hit.
I can’t believe she’s a New York bestseller. The dialogue is forced. There’s pretty much no plot. It’s straight romance. However, all the couples in this series seem to fall in love within 1 to 2 days, followed by a lifetime unbreakable mating. I’m very glad I got the series free and didn’t actually pay for this.
A great fantasy story of Anders. Keeps your interest to the very end and is a read that no one should miss Just another great by a super author don't forget to get it, once it's released. Received an ARC
Loved Anders & Gwen's story! How exciting & sexy! How sexy would a hot man with beautiful wings be? Wow! The goof-off is put in the position to show what he can do. When you have someone cheering you on that believes in you, the impossible is possible. Another great Auxem story!!
This is another great sci-fi romance by Lisa Lace. It is well written and keeps you turning the pages until the very end. well worth the 5 stars I've given it. If you love sci-fi romance then I can definitely recommend this book. I voluntarily read a review copy of this book.
Although Lisa Lace has a great concept on her hands, I can't help but be thankful that these books are so short. I felt an odd likeness to Star Wars at times in this book and kept getting bored with the predictability I saw in it. Definitely for a younger audience.
i haven't read one of the auxem stories in quite a while. the bonding is hopeful for earth couples. maybe if men were made to be faithful and women too, it would be a wonderful world 🌎.
