Revival Fire

Rate this book
Fire blazes from heaven, and a stone altar erupts in flame. So begins a spiritual awakening, the kindling of a revival fire still burning today. Beginning with Elijah and God's tremendous one-day revival of Israel, Wesley Duewel tells stories of revivals spanning the globe from America to China to Africa, all brought by obedience and heartfelt prayer. He illustrates how God has used revival fire through the centuries to revive the church and reveal the glorious presence of the Holy Spirit.

This was my second reading of Revival Fire, a history of revivals. Duewel arranged the accounts chronologically and geographically. Many of them brought me to tears as Duewel described what brought on the revival, the people involved in the revival. and the effects.

If you are interested in revival, Revival Fire is a good choice for you.

This books shows the movement of through revivals, which stand as pillars marking the way, not only of God's power, but also of restoration of certain teachings which get lost.

Only one big flaw!

I would have loved it if the book contained information on the most fascinating of Revivals in modern history--The Azusa Street Revival! I was enjoying the book and waiting in anticipation for any new insight than I previously had about this Revival but mysteriously this writer did not mention it???

A well written account of God-produced revivals, from Bible times until the 1970 Ashbury revival. Includes accounts of the Welsh revivals of 1859 and 1904, and works of God in China, Korea, India, etc. A great overview!

Wow. This is a great historical read of revival around the world in the last 300 years. It will make you pray with more passion for revival. It will help you to examine your own life in terms, "could I handle revival and am I ready for it if it does happen?" All the revivals spread like wild fire across the region where it started. When the people in the region started to go out it spread even further. So exciting to pray about the possibilities....

I love this book as a practical and exciting history of revivals throughout the world. The revivals mentioned her date back to before the Reformation. Awesome Read - Not academic, easy read.
