Lucien lost his father and twin brother a year ago in a plane accident. Now he is second in line to the throne of Monaco. A position he does not want. When his brother informs him he will have to pick a wife soon, Luc adamantly argues against it. To momentarily appease him, Bastien sends Luc to Las Vegas on a business trip. It is the perfect place for Luc to forget about responsibilities and experience a bit of freedom.

Hannah has a past filled with pain and suffering. Through all of her struggle
Reluctantly Royal is a quick, easy and entertaining read.

A prince who must take a wife and stop his playboy ways.

This was a whirlwind romance between a reluctant “spare” prince and an unemployed cosmetologist. A big portion of this book was Luc and Hannah going on adventurous dates as they got to know each other during their weeklong fling.

At first Luc kept his identity secret but when Hannah found out, he knew he wanted more than a week with her. He just has to convince Hannah to leave her life in Vegas to go home with him to Monaco.

This was a cute story with a little bit of serious thrown in. Their stor

I am a sucker for a royal romance. Everyone wants to be a princess. Saying that, this was not my favorite royal romance. I would it to drag for me. I could not really get into it that much. I skimmed most of it.

Reluctantly Royal is the first book of the HRH series and if this was a glimpse of what's to come, I'm all in!

This story is true and through what we would picture your modern day royalty meets civilian and falls hard and fast.

Lucien is the spare heir of Monaco, forced to fulfill his royal duties due to the death of his twin brother and father. Fighting the realness of what's expected of him, he begrudgingly agrees to tend

Quick easy read. I love other Archer books but Luc and Hannah's romance fell a bit short for me. For one thing too many times did the phrase "That is the nicest thing any one has ever said to me" was so overused it was an eye roller for me. Point of view was Luc's but Hannah was the dynamite character. Poor but proud Hannah rocks Luc's world in that she does not fall at this royal feet even when she found out he was a Prince. Luc's brother and mother were interesting characters to this tail as w ...more

I really tried liking Reluctantly Royal by Gillian Archer. I mean, just look at the synopsis. It's exactly what I wanted to read since it's about royalty and romance like come on!!! That's right up my alley.

Unfortunately, I just didn't like this story as much as I wanted because I had trouble connecting with the characters and the story itself. It may have been the writing style but I couldn't dive into the story as much as I w

With the royal theme, enticing blurb, hot prince, Monaco setting, and allure of a new-to-me author, I was excited! I WANTED to love this book. I really did! Unfortunately, I neither forged a connection to the characters nor the storyline. I could not feel the connection between the hero and heroine either. I just could not feel this story as much as I wanted to badly.

I wanted to enjoy this title, but for me there was absolutely no spark of connection in the main characters. I didn't like Luc, and I was not really all that sympathetic to him in the beginning...and I did not find that this changed all that much.

This book was alright. It unfortunately fell a little flat for me. I am a huge sucker for royal romances, This just wasn't what i wanted it to be. It was an easy read so that was nice. I did enjoy the story enough. I'm sure if I haven't read my fair share for royal romances I would have enjoyed this a lot more. It just felt a little repetitive to what I've already read. What a refreshing take on the royal romance, and one I soon won't be forgetting. A prince is in vegas for one last hurrah. He never intends in meeting a vivacious local who he is instantly attracted to. When he meets Hannah he finds that she may be a perfect wife, and one he needs. Hannah is blown away finding she has fallen for a prince. but decides to take a giant leap with him. What does she have to lose? This romance was sweet and entertaining.

A quickly paced romance, Reluctantly Royal is a fast and fun read.

Determined to find some independence, Luc partially ditches his royal persona for a week in Vegas, much to his older brother’s chagrin. While out for some drinks, he sees Hannah across the bar.

Hannah is a determined free spirit. She’s blind to Luc’s Royal roots, just the way he wants it. Their connection turns into something more along the way, and they have to make big decisions.

Overall, Reluctantly Royal was a fun and interest

Luc is a great hero--tall, handsome and, even better, he's a royal. As we get to know him, we also realize he recognizes his responsibilities, but he's taking a while to wrap his head around it all. Not surprising that he wants to break out a little and have some fun while he can. However, I was glad that Hannah pointed out to him the positives of his life. He was too busy being annoyed

The title of the book had me convinced I knew where this was going to go, but I was incredibly wrong. I loved that both characters were easy to relate to even if one had grown up in luxury that most of us can't even imagine. I loved the doubts that Hannah had and her realistic reaction to learning the truth about Luc.

I loved the depth of Luc's family that was given to the reader; instead of glossing over them, I felt they were each part of the story.

What happens when a reluctant royal meets a proud local girl from Vegas? You get Lucien and Hannah's story and you may or may not like it but I did. I am a sucker for a Cinderella story and this one was really good. There were a few spots that dragged but I pushed through them and it was worth it.

Who doesn't love a fairytale? A modern day fairytale where a commoner catches the eye of a prince and they-hopefully- live happily ever after. We wouldn't be fans of romance if we didn't love happily ever afters or believe in true love.

Lucien was the youngest son of the Crown of Monaco. And it should be noted that he hates every minute that he is forced to act according to what is expected of him.
Exactly so, a few years ago, he enlisted in the Air Force.
But unfortunately, with the death of his father and his twin brother, Julien - the good prince - Lucien had to return home.
Now, his older brother Sebastian - Bastian - was perfectly in the throne of the Principality of Monaco.

Bastian wanted Luc to act on his title, and he was a

I was browsing through Netgalley when I saw this book... To be honest, this was my first time to read something from Gillian Archer... The cover wasn't bad, but what caught my interest was the blurb... I've read a lot of royal romances... I mean we all grew up watching Disney HEA movies and had read about prince and princesses, so yeah, I was curious of what would set this royal romance apart...

The story revolves around the reluctant royal, Prince Lucien, who was captivated by a vivacious local

Reluctantly I must admit this book came across crass too often for my taste, folks. It’s never a good thing when out of the blue you find the main couple's actions and dialogue not always matching their character portrayal. For this reviewer, that leads to frustration and "WTH?" head shakes. From Hannah’s unclassy, obscene choice of a first date, to what they saw there, and to her unladylike/crude response later when some drunk men came onto her in front of Luc, she herself came across as someon ...more

Reluctantly Royal is the first book in the exciting new HRH (His Royal Highness) series by Gillian Archer. A sweet, entertaining, royal romance that you won't want to miss! I really liked the characters, the fairy tale type storyline, humor, witty banter, and the surprise twists and turns. I very much liked the author's True Brothers series, so was eager to read this new series.

A year ago, Lieutenant Luc Greiner's world fell apart, when the plane carrying his beloved twin brother, Julien, and their father, the Prince of Monaco, went down over the Atlantic Ocean. He loved his life as a helicopter pilot. That was the life and future that he wanted for himself, but when the older "spare" died, Luc was forced back into the palace. Chaffing at the palace life, his older brother, Basti

Reluctantly Royal, by Gillian Archer, is an sexy/erotic contemporary romance. The settings for this story are Monaco and Las Vegas. While this story is definitely fictional there are references to the royal family of Monaco and their American princess. Most readers will not even know who and it's not important to know except that Monaco is a real principality with real royalty. The story introduces the reader to HRH Prince Lucien (Luc) Arthur Beauregard Mathieu Grenier and his brother HRH Sovere ...more
