Things are a bit up in the air for the Catskills Shakespeare Theater Company when their director quits right before their production of Much Ado About Nothing. Luckily, their featured star, Audrey Ashley, recommends a director she has worked with before, Edmund Albright. Costume designer Charlotte Fairfax is excited to work with the new director and looks forward to the production. But, Albright announces some changes to the play. I read Much Ado About Murder on Monday October 2nd and I was pleased that this third book in the Catskills Mystery series did not disappoint! It had great energy and was an exceptionally good whodunit! Reading this one it was easy to get caught up in the excitement and absurdity of the life of the play directors. I loved the idea of living in the bungalows and fully immersing oneself in a theater company devoted to Shakespeare's works. I enjoyed the characters banter, the way they carried themse ...more

England comes to the U.S. in Much Ado About Murder. Charlotte Fairfax is a costume designer formerly with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Audrey Ashley is an actress from a famous English dramatic family; she insists on a particular English director. Set in the Catskills, a production of Much Ado About Nothing is anticipated to draw crowds of tourists to help sustain the town and local hotel. Add in a few Corgis and a lot of tea to round out the British ambiance.

Unfortunately, trouble plagues the

Much Ado About Murder by Elizabeth Duncan was an interesting story, packed with plenty of murder, lies, greed and much more.
Charlotte Fairfax is an interesting character and I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

I enjoyed the storyline, a director has some wild ideas about a Shakespeare play and chaos ensues when someone ends up dead.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

MUCH ADO ABOUT MURDER, the third book in the Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery series, provides an interesting look behind the scenes of a theater production. Full of drama, conflict, injury, and murder, it is a fun light read.

This is the first book I have read in this series, and I had no trouble diving right in with the characters and setting. The theater company is left in the lurch when their director abruptly leaves. The board wants Wade Radcliffe to take over, but their guest star actre

This is the third book in the Catskills mystery series. I have not read the earlier books, I had no trouble following the story. The protagonist, Charlotte Fairfax has been in the area for a number of years. She is responsible for getting the new Shakespeare play staged. The director opts out leaving a problem. The star actress has a say on the director and insisted on a director from England. His arrival throws the cast into a turmoil. He is found dead in his bungalow and the Police rule it sui ...more

**I voluntarily read this ARC**

This was an interesting book. The setting was great, and I wish I could visit it. The mystery was sort of predictable, sort of surprising, and very well written. I did find it a little hard to connect to the characters, but I still enjoyed the book.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, Much Ado About Murder is the third book in the Shakespeare in the Catskills mystery series but it is the first one I have read and can certainly stand alone if you have not read the previous books. Charlotte Fairfax is the costume designer for the Catskills Shakespeare Theater company who along with her friend, Paula Van Dusen, chair of the theater company, are welcoming their star, Audrey Ashley, from England. Much Ado About Murder ( A Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery) by author Elizabeth J. Duncan is a delightful cozy mystery with a bit of with along with the mystery. I enjoy reading the friendship of Charlotte Fairfax and Paula Van Dusen and when you add the corgi Rupert, it just makes it better!

I might be a tad partial to Much Ado About Murder by Elizabeth J. Duncan because it is A Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery and I live in upstate New York. But whatever reason you choose to read Much Ado About Murder, I am quite certain that you will love it !!

Even though this is the third book in the series and I haven't had the pleasure of reading the previous two, I was able to pick it up and breeze right through it. As soon as I started reading, I was lost in the Catskills.... The story is

What an interesting and fun story. This book was definitely a page turner and I was very surprised when the murderer was revealed. The characters are very interesting and they would be great to meet in person. I would love to go see a Shakespeare play performed by the Catskills Shakespeare Theater Company especially one with a different concept as portrayed in this book.
It was interesting to learn about what happens when a production such as this gets an overhaul. Especially when a major star o

Directing Shakespeare can be deadly.
This is the first book I have read in Elizabeth J. Duncan's Shakespeare in the Catskills series. The main character is Charlotte Fairfax, a Brit who now lives in the Catskills and is the costume designer for the Catskills Shakespeare Company. When she comes across the body of their new director in his bungalow, the investigation is on.
The main characters are well thought out. Each personality is distinct, and all of their actions are believable. The author ha

Much Ado About Murder is the third book in the A Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery series by Elizabeth J. Duncan. These books can be enjoyed as a series or as a stand alone. I have not read the first two books in the series, and had no trouble following the storyline.

This is the third in the series but the first one I've read. I entered a contest online and received this beautiful hardback book as a prize. I will be upfront with you, if I had known it was a 3rd book, I wouldn't have read it first. Thankfully ignorance is bliss and I started the book completely unaware. It was so fantastic that once I realized my mistake, it was too late and I wasn't going to stop for anything. It makes a good stand alone book, but I'm sure the background info from the first ...more

The setting is the grounds of a hotel. Charlotte lives

Much Ado about Murder is the 3rd book in the Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery series by Elizabeth J. Duncan.

I rate this book 3.5 stars.

I haven't read any other books in the series yet, but I was able to pick up the storyline quickly. This was easy to read as a standalone book.

What I liked about this book:
- Charlotte and Paula are likable characters. I like their friendship.
- I also enjoyed the interaction between Charlotte and Ray. I get tired when the police are treated as adversaries. That

Elizabeth Duncan is one of my favorite mystery writers and she did not disappoint with this third book in her Catskills-set series. Wonderful characters, a deepening romance, and intrigue behind-the-scenes of a production of Much Ado About Nothing held my interest until the last page. I look forward to the next installment!

Ms. Duncan's new book, Much Ado About Murder, is a charming cozy mystery. Her characters are well developed and the story was a fast read. It's the kind of book you pick up when you're having a hectic or bad day and want a little escape.
The only problem I had is that I never read Williams Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing so I was a little lost when the play in the book was being discussed.

This is a quaint mystery! I really enjoyed the setting and the intriguing clues. I loved the setting in the catskills and the theatre but wished the author had described the area more and the characters in more detail. I would read her books again, because I loved the interesting tidbits she brings into her writing!

A new English actress. A director who abruptly quits. A new director who wants to set Much Ado About Nothing in New York after the Civil War. This isn't the smooth, trouble-free season that Charlotte Fairfax was hoping for. It doesn't help that the director - Edmund Albright - is found dead in his bungalow, an apparent suicide victim.

Charlotte doesn't believe that Albright killed himself despite evidence to the contrary. She is determined to find out what really happened. She has lots of suspect

Much Ado About Murder is the third installment in Elizabeth J. Duncan’s Shakespeare in the Catskills mystery series. It is just as delightful as its two predecessors, Untimely Death and Ill Met by Murder.

This is the first in the series that I have read and is the third in the A Shakespeare in the Catskills Mystery. This book did not disappoint. I liked the setting and main characters. The Catskills are beautiful, the concept is well developed, the characters have depth. The only thing I found odd was that this was more like telling a story until near the end when a few well placed curiosities/questions were revealed then, it became a mystery. The police were on the verge of ruling it a suicide. ...more
