Ceci Giltenan's stories are like a fine wine, they get better and better.

If we can remember back to the first ever book she wrote Highland Solution, you will remember Kate's uncle, Ambrose Ruthven and what a horrible person he was, and how he beat Kate when she was protecting Tomas, and when they left Ruthven, Kate and Niall adopted Tomas, well it's now seventeen years later and on the way back from Court, Tomas and his entourage encounter a hold up, after rescuing them Tomas realises that he ha

ROUGH DIAMONDS IN SCOTLAND

To begin with, sometimes people do change. And there is, perhaps, such a thing as fate. If something bad must happen to drive events to a good conclusion, that is fate.
This book, ultimately, revolves around fate.
The redemption of the villain is only a side trip in the plot. The majority of the book revolves around the things that result because of just one set of his actions. The book is entertaining, full of beauty, and descriptive landscapes. The characters are well-b

I started reading this and had to stop because frankly the story made me want to puke. Giltenan did to good a job on making Ambrose a villain in the other book. I did not want him to be redeemed. I wanted him to die a horrible death. He abused children. Family. Not to mention terrorized his clan and stole his nieces inheritance. The man was brutal. But hey he loved his wife and child so all is forgiven. Not by me. Hated this book. This was a KU book. Wish I had paid for it so I could demand my m ...more

I really enjoyed the book, thought the plot was different, in a good way, and lie that it subtly stressed calmness instead of jumping the gun for vengeance. It showed how greed can ruin lives, it covered the importance of forgiving as apposition to striking out in anger causing the issue to escalate. That is one of the things I enjoy most about your writing... you subtly point out the correct behaviors, consequences for bad behavior and reactions, and wrap it all up into a happy, successful endi ...more

Highland Redemption

So Tomas finally got his revenge, sort of..... Marrying the daughter of the man that had beat him with a whip when he was seven years old was the ultimate revenge. Wasn't it?? Tomas had a very difficult time trying to reconcile the man now to the one of old. However due to his upbringing by the MacIans, he was able to forgive past hurts and agree to lead the Ruthven clan..

Another wonderful book by this author! Her characters are amazing, with depth, strength. A fabulous story of good vs bad, "some" redemption, suspense and love! You can't help but fall in love with Thomas (Hot Highlander) and Vida (Beautiful and Smart).
I felt I was transported to Scotland with this vivid tale! Also, wonderful words of wisdom from Thomas's parents. I love them, I loved this book!

intriguing story just like the previous serie.just want to keep on reading.the romance was more plain.they both were down to earth, respectfull, honorable, hard working, generous and forgiving which is fantastic but their characters don't really grow in the story.and they're not so passionate

A sweet story. A blast from the past, the stable boy who fled with Lady Katherine in an earlier book to escape being whipped by the evil Laird.
