This was a book in contention for the Maud Hart Lovelace book award during the 1995-6 school year. This was my response at that time: A boy accidentally clones himself. Funnier and easier to read than "The Duplicate."

Probably the most important sci-fi young adult exploration of existential crises the world has ever known.

what would you do if you had a twin/clone that could go to school in your place?

a great childhood read about a guy who grows a twin and makes the twin go to school for him.

at some point in high school i had a class with someone (who happened to have the same birthday) and we discovered we had both read this book when we were younger.

Will creates an exact duplicate of himself while working on a science project, but having a twin isn't all fun and games. Great. Wonderful read-aloud.
