Elijah Beasley is three things: a cop, a fucking problem, and Gabe’s. Gabriel Delvin’s known that f

I wanted to like this one more than I actually did. I just couldn’t connect with the main characters.
I believe I would have benefited by reading this series in order because I felt like I was missing something. Gabe Delvin worked at a bakery and Officer Eli Beasley kept coming into Gabe’s store to buy baked goods for about ten years. Gabe and Eli had what appeared to be purely physical relationship because Gabe’s lies presented a road block to an emotional attachment. It took a while to figure

These are my Happily Ever Novel Thoughts...

Let's talk about this book for a moment. I want you know something very important about this book. I love Nazarea Andrew's writing and this story helped me realize M/M romance stories are my favorite romance tropes. They're passionate, tumultuous, needy, strong, weak, but never whiney. Yes, they may be insecure, but it isn't because they think they're ugly or fat. They are secure with themselves, their insecurities stem from caring too much, wanting too

I thought Sweet Ugly Lies was very uneven. There were several beautifully written passages that grabbed my attention, but there were also repetitive phrases, clunky transitions, and an ending where the obstacle to an HEA (or HFN) suddenly disappeared. I couldn't really connect to either Gabe or Eli, although I found myself more drawn to Eli. His character is a little more developed than Gabe's. From Eli's POV, we do gain some insight to his feelings and thoughts, whereas I didn't feel
After a rocky start readers will find themselves hanging on for dear life as big city problems invade a small town and complicate the relationship between long-time lovers afraid to commit. As lies start adding up the future gets murky as familial bonds weigh on future love and life as readers once again take a trip to Green County.

Gabe's life has been a mess since the day his father left him and his brothers behind. With unending conflicts between him and his older brothers there were very few

Lisa Marie ~ Words We Love By
Sweet Ugly Lies is the continuation on Andrews' Green County Series. I haven't read the other in the series and while there are some things that would be clearer, I did not feel as if I were missing any vital information. Sweet revolves around the highly dysfunctional relationship between Gabe, a baker by trade and Eli, a local cop. For ten years, the two have had an on again, off again "relationship". Tangling the mess of the two is not only Gabe's failure to speak plainly and honestly with Eli ...more

Is it a lie if you're telling it to protect someone? Maybe, maybe not. For years Gabe has been lying to Eli .Their relationship has been on and off because of it. But finally, after years of lying Gabe has decided to come clean and tell Eli what he has been hiding this whole time. Hoping that this isn't the end of them and that they can truly be together.

Gabe and Eli are both wonderful characters. On one hand I wanted to hug Eli and slap Gabe and on the other hand I wanted to hug Gabe and slap

This is the story of Gabe & Eli who have been lovers for so many years it hurts to think that commitment is still lacking because of lies, half truths & the fear of the u known.

As their journey unfolds you can feel the sadness & desperation from Eli & taste the fear & the regret that rolls off Gabe. Their love is complicated on so many levels, but sooner or later they are both forced to speak the truths that have evaded them for majority of their relationships.

Personally I s

Title: Sweet Ugly Lies
Author: Nazarea Andrews

4 unexpected stars

i have had the chance to read previous books by Nazarea Andrews in the past, in fact, it was her Wicked Ever After series and loved it as i read more and more from her. Sadly, i wasn't aware that Sweet Ugly Lies was part of a series, that although you can read it as a standalone, i felt as though i was missing some important key factors. Especially when it came to Gabriel and Elijah's history - sure you get a good idea of what's h

Nazarea Andrews is an avid reader and tends to write the stories she wants to read. She loves chocolate and coffee almost as much as she loves books, but not quite as much as she loves her kids. She lives in south Georgia with her husband, daughters, and overgrown dog.
