The Champions of the Dragon have survived the darklings, bandits, flocks of harpies, cyclopes, and have finally reached the Wide Wall—now the hard part begins.
Murland and the companions must now travel west beyond the Wide Wall, through the Forest of the Dead, past the Swamp of Doom, over the Horrible Hills, across the Long Sand, all the way to the shadowy peak of Bad Mountain. For Drak'Noir awaits her sacrifice.
Taken prisoner by the fearless Captain McArgh, Princess Caressa, Valkimir, Hagus, and Dingleberry are traveling farther away from the champions with every passing minute. If they cannot figure out a way to escape, they will never reach the champions in time to deliver their shocking message.
Meanwhile, Kazimir plays a dangerous game with Zuul, the Dark Lord reborn, and Headmaster Zorromon the Off-White sets out to save Murland from a fool’s fate.
Beyond the Wide Wall, Book 2 of Epic Fallacy, is a satirical high-adventure romp through the Fantasy genre in the tradition of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. From USA Today Bestselling Author Michael James Ploof.
I spent my youth in the land of make believe. School was a bore, and growing up in the "Boonies" without cable television forced me to use my imagination. If I wasn't holed up in my bedroom playing with my vast collection of action figures, I could be found in the forest with a wooden sword or staff in hand, battling the forces of evil. As an 80's kid, I was raised on a healthy diet of movies like Star Wars, The Neverending Story, Labyrinth, Goonies, and endless other classic (but strange) movies.
As a reader, I enjoy books that take off right out of the gate, sweep me off my feet, and whisk me away on an epic adventure. As an author, I try to create books that do the same for my readers. I write fantasy, and I suppose that I still live in a land of make believe, except now I get to share the adventure with others.
I hope that you will join me on my next adventure, and together we can escape reality, if only for a time.
The 2nd book in the Champions of the Dragon is what I would call the traveling book. As they journey the group learns to be Champions, learning to survive as they cross the lands Beyond the Wide Wall. Learning about what it is to depend on each other, what true friends do for each other. Most importantly they learn about themselves. This is an easy read and at times predictable but not to the point of not wanting to read book 3 and find what's in store.
I can't wait to read the next book. This series just gets better with each. This book 2 continues with the champions going on with their journey. Book one brings them to the wide wall and book 2 brings them beyond the desert. The characters are one of a kind and they find out the truth in this book, they also become to care about each other, in more ways then can be counted. Great Reading Everyone!
I know he said the wait wont be long but I want the third book now! It was so good. Hated to be interrupted, didn't want to run any errands. Let's just say, till I finished the book, the kids didn't exist. Just kidding, they existed and wouldn't stop talking. Really love the characters and the story. Eagerly waiting for the next book.
This is once again so very good. I loved the first book and couldn't wait to read the next. Now I am waiting anxiously for the ending. Please continue with these great stories.
I rated it 5 stars because the characters and plot lines are truly filling out. I just cannot stop reading . I need to find out where this is gonna end up. If you love sword and sorcery then this is the book for you.
The champions have many adventures and are coming together as heroes. A subplot with Kazimir is taking shape. The story stops with a cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I have 5 stars because this story kept my interest. I never skipped through any pages, as I usually do. I found it complex enough to be a page turner, yet easy to read.
This is where the Champions learn to be who they are meant to be and get to know one another. It is more about their travels than it is any magic or dragon fighting or anything like that but it sure wants me to get on to book 3 in the series to see what happens.
I've lost some interest since the first one. This one seemed slightly less clever. It's a pretty standard 2/3 of a series. On to the last because I'm a fanatical completionist.
