He tried to cover too much material in one book. The writing uses too much vernacular. Still, a great book if you are new to hydroponics and want and introduction to what can be grown and how with more details than a YouTube video.

Simple but useful. Rob Laing gives you main concepts about hydroponics and how-to home hydroponics that let you start immediately any project without complications. Plant profiles and resources let you applied the theoric concepts in the book to reality. Recommended to anyone who's looking to take their first steps into control environment agriculture.

The book is nicely designed, but it's not extremely practical. There are some general practical parts but not enough to act on. There was a large section devoted to unique plants to grow, which was interesting but not enough information to guess whether I'd like to integrate it in my menu or even research more.
