What if there really were witches in Salem? And what if witches were something far different from the creatures of traditional legend? Vicki Vass’s Bloodline combines elements from different faiths and cultures to create a new witchly mythology, where good powers protect and evil resurges into the modern day, and where a sweet group of tea-drinking old ladies might be so much more than they seem. Also, there’s a cat.

Identities are slowly revealed throughout this tale, and the balance of power be

BLOODLINE is one of the most fanciful, delightful tales I have read for some time.

Anyone who reads my reviews know I 99.9% only read and review cozy mysteries. But every once in a while, a book will find me (They seem to have a way of doing that) and plead with me to read it. BLOODLINE is such a book.

Falling into many different genres . . . mystery, cozy mystery/para-cozy, paranormal, fantasy . . . This story has something for just about everyone. Not only that, this book will appeal to a wide
I really enjoyed this book! I haven't read any of the author's books. I am curious about them now. I definitely want to read more Witch Cat Mysteries so I hope this series continues.
The narrator is a cat. That was something unexpected but thoroughly enjoyable. I am looking forward to more adventures with Terra, the witch cat narrator. I absolutely adore her. I love the way the author mixed in bits of historical elements with spells and lore to create a genuinely fun fantasy tale. I loved reading

Kindle Unlimited, which is how I got it because amazon keeps having boggles with my account so the gift card wouldn't go through right that got from the writer. Usually wait until the boggles are solved so went ahead and read this, and making use of that 6 month ku bought.

This was one of the 4 1/2 books to me, where I have to figure out which way it goes, more toward the 4 or the 5. There were places where there were minor confusions in continuity or names and the flips from past from or to pres

Who is Terra?

The book starts out like a nice comfy story--doesn't last long. Someone you think is a person turns out to be an animal. Why? Set in NC a group of ladies gets together to gossip and have a wonderful friendship and then a young girl arrives in town. Lionel a friendly old homeless man is killed. Abigail is scared after spending the night in jail with evil creatures and wants to leave town but Terra convinces her to stay. I don't want to give the story away--suffice it to say it gets b

Bloodline by Vicki Vass

For years I have been tracing our Family Tree, little knowing that it was an actual tree that I was looking for! Doctors want to know your medical history, and Wiccans need to know their spirit tree. Terra, Pixel, and Tracker need to help. There is a lot of history, especially of Biltmore and the Ashville area, in this story. I had to keep reading in order to find out who the bad guy, I mean girl, was.

This is my first book by Vicki Vass and it gave me chills, thrills, joy and tears, I couldn't put it down. Her characters Terra, Pixal, Mrs. Twiggs, Abigail and Tracker became beloved friends. Her storyline so descriptive yet mysterious and humorous all at the same time. I can't wait to read more.

A cute cozy mystery. I loved that most of the book is narrated from the point of view of a witch that's been turned into a cat. My favorite characters were the cats, especially Pixel <3 He's such a sweetie. I hope the author writes a sequel, I will definitely read it!

Witches, cats and a mystery. What is not to love. The storyline keeps you reading late into the night. Love that it takes place in Asheville NC. I have family there and enjoyed hearing about some of the familiar places. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I like the style of which she writes her story and I am lately getting "into" the paranormal type stories. I also like that a cat narrates the story.

Really witchy story!

This book is Bloodline: A Witch Cat Mystery, book one of the series, written by Vicki Vass. I enjoyed this story. Very well thought out, great characters and very tricky....some may even say WITCHY plot! (Sorry folks, I couldn't help myself) I like the depths that Ms Vass went to so as to describe each person and where their strengths had been inherited from. My only issue with this book is that it has a non-ending, also known as a cliffhanger. If you have read any of my rev

Terra Rowan was chased away from Salem during the witch trials and subsequent hangings. She isn’t sure what happened to her life. The events were so long ago that she has given up any hope of getting back her old life, in fact, it could be murder.

Now living in Asheville, North Carolina she finds that strange things, magical things are happening, and she fears for those she has come to like, even love. It isn’t long before one of them is murdered and she must find out who the killer is b

Good vs Evil

I was surprised when I started reading the first book in the Bloodline series by Vicki Vass. The quality of her writing is excellent and the presentation of information regarding Wiccans and white magic is beyond what I expected. I usually look at the length of a book before I buy or read because I prefer longer books (at least 300 pages) that allow more involvement in a story. For some reason I didn't check the length of this book. I had no idea it was only 218 pages because I was t

I was blown away about the uniqueness of this witch cozy!

I have always been a fan of anything written about the Salem Witch Trials and it is so Obvious that the author is too! Her research and historical knowledge was obvious throughout this book. This is the fist book in the Witch Cat Mystery series and the very title make me curious enough to check it out. Wow, from the opening until the end, I was carried away. I had to finish the book in one sitting because I could not put it down! The fact

I will admit I was a bit confused at first as to what the character was, then it all clicked. I was so intrigued that I didn't put the book down. And am mourning finishing it. So my question is what is next? I am beyond the excited point for the next book!

As a huge nerd about the Salem Witch Trials, this reader was eager to read this book. It held such a gripping first chapter that I was holding my breath. What would happen? Where were we? Yes, I get the answers to this question but I do enjoy

Set in Asheville, NC, its star attraction, Biltmore, becomes one of the characters as events spanning centuries come into focus in the figure of a runaway from Chicago, Abigail Pierce. She, however, is NOT the main character. That would be Terra Rowan who is central to all the action and can claim Druid ancestory ...more

This is the story of Terra (Earth in English), a human witch that was transformed to a cat a hundred years ago, and that doesn't know how to return to her human body!

Great story...great plot

This book easily deserves five stars. The characters really do come to life and the plot unfolds around them. Terra is the driving force for all the action and one sympathizes with her being trapped in a cat's body. Terra is a good witch and does get the coven organized. I really liked how the training of the coven members revealed the history about their ancestors and their individual strengths. Terra does not give up easily and helps Abigail reach her potential and defe
