Based on a true story. A woman and her husband go to the US on a fund-raising mission for the Irish Republican cause. They meet Russians who are raising money for the Russian revolution. As they fail, a deal is in return for a loan, the Russians give the Russian crown jewels to the Irish.

I thought this a wonderful book with a backdrop of the birth of the a Republic of Ireland. I wonder there aren’t more books by this great storyteller.
