The premise for this one is so charming. It has a touch of pretending, which are my favorites. So I was very excited to read it. And it was good. But just good.

I like Clark. It's cute that he dresses up to pretend to be a superhero for a birthday party with a real name like Clark. But the real Clark is much more than a superhero. He has a fixer personality and takes on way too much guilt. He tries so hard to make things right for the ones he cares about that he sometimes goes overboard. But it's

Anna is trying not of panic. Louie, her seven-year-old son's, birthday party starts in ten minutes and his favorite superhero, Redhawk, has not arrived yet. She knew the man she hired wasn't the most reliable, but he was the most affordable. As if that's not bad enough, she's trying not to stress, as usual, over how she'll financially get through the rest of the month, and her ex-husband, George, is on his way for the celebration and she knows he'll take pleasure in pointing out what he views as ...more

Clark Wainwright’s sister Taylor is Anna’s best friend, and when she told him of Anna’s plight, Clark rushed to the rescue; Clark knows how it feels to have a birthday party ruined. This is the story of divorced single mum Anna Bishop who has arranged her sons birthday party for a special superhero of Louie, Redhawk but he does not show, in his place comes sexy Clarke Wainwright, brother of her best friend Taylor. When her ex husband comes storming in and manhandles Anna. Unfortunately sexy superhero Clarke punches him and breaks his nose, and this starts the nasty business of making sure she keeps custo
I really enjoyed this one. I loved the set up - a guy helps out a woman by showing up as a superhero at her son's birthday party. So cute! The plot flowed very effortlessly. I loved the struggle facing this heroine who needs help but hates to ask for help. I can definitely relate to that so it was nice to see it in a romance. I love how the heroine's child was incorporated into the story. It felt very natural and well done. Overall, I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow. It was a rea ...more

With The Favor, Ms. Edens showed how one act of kindness can impact more than one life. Anna finds herself in a bind and her friend suggests a solution that proceeds to turn this single mom's world upside down. Clark, the uptight architect needs to lighten up. Never did he think a favor for his sister would involve a super hero costume, a bunch of seven year olds and him losing his heart. If laughter is the best medicine, The Favor is the perfect remedy. Sweetly humorous romance. Definitely one ...more

This was right up my alley....a fake to real romance :) We have Anna, who has a borderline abusive ex husband that is threatening to take her to court to gain custody of their son, and Clark, Anna's best friend's brother who can't resist helping people because he's a "fixer". After an altercation with the ex, Clark realizes the only way for Anna to keep her son is for her to be married, so he steps up and offers to marry her. It's all good and supposed to be merely a business deal, but

This book stands alone (although it foreshadows a possible second book in the series) and does not end on a cliffhanger. This one contains both on-screen sex and cursing including multiple f-bombs, so if those things turn you off, you probably won't enjoy this one.

While the author shows a lot of potential and I liked the premise of this book – this is exactly the kind of plot that I am drawn to - but sadly, I wasn't a fan of the writing style. There was way too much telling and not enough showin

The Favor is the second book I have read by Blaire Edens. This is a nicely executed marriage of convenience romance, even though the plot lost some of its connectivity from time to time. A determined mother, a meddling but caring new husband, and a cute little boy and his dog, all come together to create the heart of the story.

The only goodness that came out of Anna Bishop's marriage was her seven-year-old son Louie. Her ex is a big bully and his powerful family is quite influential in the commu
3.5☆-Marriage of convenience fake romance with plenty of sweetness and a little spice with a superhero fixer and a struggling single mom

The Favor is my first read by Blaire Edens and overall, I really enjoyed this marriage of convenience fake romance with plenty of sweetness and a little spice. Focusing on the struggles of a single mom and her sweet son, these two may just have stumbled upon their very own superhero fixer.

Told from dual perspective, Anna and Clark have an instant attraction aft

Love Clark. Love his kindness, loyalty, patience and sense of honor. I love how he tries to write his wrongs and sometimes goes to far. He does get a realization of this and works hard to let of of his fixing tendencies. My favorite is how he bonds to Anna’s son and treats with with such love and patience. He has him become a part of his world and no matter what wishes to keep this going.

A good story that opens up with a single mom throwing a birthday party for her eight year old son and having a not so nice talk with her ex who really is just bully her. In walks a man dressed in the super hero outfit that she hired, but she knows for sure that the man in tights is not the man she hired, though she would like to meet him(not really). The ex continues to talk unpleasantly Anna Bishop the single mom when super hero punches him in the nose. Now her best friend walks in and says Cla ...more

I liked the idea of this story and how Anna and Clark met when he came to her rescue while dressed in a superhero costume. It was a great set-up.

While Clark worked to help Anna after her ex-husband filed for custody of her son Louie. I wish we had been able to see more of what happened there. While a big catylyst for the plot initially it didn't seem to be as much of a focus except for Anna to say she wanted to make sure he didn't take custody away. It would have been interesting to see more of

I was intrigued by the description of The Favor by Blaire Edens; enough to want to read about this friend’s brother who is willing to dress up as a superhero for a child’s birthday party. The story is so much more than that which is only the beginning. Clark is a good man with a hero complex. Anna is a mother in trouble.

Do fake marriages happen in real life like they do in books? I guess so but I have never heard of one. I’m just not sure that this would work. Clark works so hard to made the wor

We all have needed help from time to time; it is just a matter of how far we go to get it. Anna Bishop has not had it easy; she has been a single mom sharing custody with her ex for five years. He hasn’t in the five years Anna has had him but one blow to his ego and BAM, lawyers are called in. Who did the blow, Clark Wainwright. Clark likes to help, ...more

I really enjoyed this one! This is a new to me author and I must say I really enjoyed her writing style and her fresh take on the familiar marriage of convenience trope. The characters are well developed and the story has a nice easy flow to it. Overall a very enjoyable read and one I definitely recommend.

When Clark Wainwright agreed to do a favor for his sister, he never imagined he'd end up wearing tights, dressed as a superhero, and punching the birthday boy's dad square in the nose. While th
