About the author

Jennifer Domenico

28 books378 followers
Jennifer Domenico writes contemporary and erotic romances. She loves alpha males with a soft spot, flawed characters, and strong, sassy women. Her characters usually have a side of kink and aren't afraid to demand what they want. The author doesn't apologize for that. She's a sucker for a happy ending as long as it comes with a lot of heat.

She lives in Phoenix, Arizona but is a Bostonian at heart. The way to her heart can be reached with a foreign accent, a shot of Fireball, and an unlimited supply of cupcakes.

She is also known under her alter ego, Jaelyn LaStoria, author of time traveling romances, because why not. The first title is Lost Within.

ummmm....where to start, Reckless Devotion was freaking hot! Gabriel kinda comes off as an ass but we start to see another side of him. Mia is very independent and not at all what Gabriel is used to in a woman but so far he is loving what she brings to the table...err bed? I have only read one other book by Jennifer Domenico and it was a lighter read than Reckless Devotion, which is BDSM and OMG this woman left me hanging wanting more. I ran out of words and need more words now!!! Reckless Devotion will having you turning each page, wanting more of Gabriel and Mia and still begging for more. Waiting, not so patiently for book two, I need more hotness that is Gabriel and Mia!!

** Reviewed on behalf of 2 Girls Who Love Books **

Okay, so I am a big fan of GOOD BDSM books and this one definitely qualifies as that! This book had all the elements that I love in a good read - an alpha male, a strong woman who also enjoys alpha males, well written scenes and holy hot and sexy times!

This would have been a 5 star read for me with the exception of the fact that it is basically half a book and ends in a CLIFFHANGER!!! I detest cliffhangers and when I signed up to read the ARC of this one there was no mention of it being a cliffy ending - no bueno for me on that. Not cool - however I see now that the blurb has been amended to state that it is a cliffhanger and that the second book comes out in June... Soooo, if you are like me, I would suggest waiting to read until book 2 comes out and read all together so you don't get the rage feelings that I am experiencing at the moment - LOL! Just kidding - but seriously it affected my enjoyment of the book as I could see it coming when the book was almost at 100% and there was no ending in sight...

So final thoughts - great book, highly recommend - just hated that it was a cliffhanger. Will be looking for book 2 to see how it all ends!

4.25 stormy stars!

Holy crap... I don't even know where to start with this one. The chemistry between Gabriel and Mia was off the charts! The sexual buildup was hot and the sex was even better! The blurb pretty much explains what the story is about, but it's so much more that that. You'll want to throw your kindle a few times and strangle Gabriel, but eventually learn to love him as well. I am seriously dying for more and can't wait to read the conclusion to this story!

Beware this book ends on a CLIFFHANGER. Even though I read an arc this annoyed me enough to lower my rating.

If this has warned it was part of a series I would have rated this a 4.5 for the story. It is seriously hot, even though full sex doesn't occur until near the end of the book. It is also well written and fast paced.

Mia is a strong and independent heroine but her strong attraction to Gabriel has her making decisions that leave her uncomfortable and uncertain. Gabriel is very controlling but we get to see a deeply caring side to him. What I didn't like was him keep referring to 'breaking" Mia.

I also dislike statements such as

Sometimes you might not want to do it, but I'll ask you to do it anyway, because I want you to believe that I know what you want and what you need better than you do.

This errs on psychological abuse to me, I'm sure Mia does know what she wants. This is a personal preference so it might not bother you. Thankfully this was a one off occurrence and the rest was very consensual, with Mia very much choosing what she did. Someone else mention wanting to throw their kindle at times - I certainly wanted to throw something at Gabriel at times - but not my precious kindle! However, much as he elicited this emotion he also had lots of redeeming features.

I did really enjoy the book and read it all in one go - it is definitely gripping. Not very romantic but very erotic and with good pace. I want to know how the story ends but at the same time don't want to see it being Mia that changes and Gabriel gets things all his way.

Gabriel is a complete alpha who likes his control!!
Mia is independent and also likes her control!!
Neither of these two are looking for a "relationship," but when these two meet you can feeling the intensity between the couple!! The chemistry is so hot and the sex.....WOW!!! Their comfort zones are invaded and they push and pull at each other!! There were times I wanted to throats punch Gabriel, but slowly that man grew on me!!
This story will pull at your heart and the emotions you feel are insane!! Jen tells such an amazing story that you cannot put the book down. She knew how to trap us with Gabriel and Mia and now I'm trying to sit here patiently for the story to continue in book two!!

I'm on a hot streak! This is book number three this month that I just couldn't put down! I read it in a day, between work breaks, t-ball practice, dinner and bedtime. I couldn't not walk away for too long! From the beginning it pulled me and I had to keep going! This book is what Fifty Shades of Grey should of been! Jennifer Domenico gets it right on so many levels, I haven't read many BDSM books but let me tell you Reckless Devotion sets the bar!

Mia is a sexy badass bitch that stands her ground to Gabriel. I loved their back and forth banter, the chemistry is strong and you can feel it seep off the pages. You know I don't like to give away much in my reviews, so know that Reckless Devotion does leave you with a cliffhanger but dont let that steer you away. This needs to be on your TBR list now and your next weekend read! 5 out of 5 roses!

Mia and Gabriel are so similar. Independent and needing to be in control. Gabriel has dark needs that Mia may not be able to fulfill. She initially is willing to try but she too needs control. Both know the relationship is transient. But both become devoted to the other but neither can give up their power. Can they compromise?

3.7 star rating

So, I'm a bit frustrated because I didn't like the hero... He was so damn annoying at times. How can you walk into someone's life and from the get without warning or trying to acclimate this person to your lifestyle you just start making demands, placing rules and restrictions, ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
And the heroine, ugh! I understand her reservations and hesitation. She is proud and strong but damn, for someone who doesn't submit, doesn't want to be ruled she sure as hell gave in pretty easy.
And for two people who want nothing serious they, mainly Gabriel, sure as heck sounded pretty enamored and serious.
Okay, enough of the ranting, I liked the author's writing style, I enjoyed the book, lead characters aside, the sex scenes were intense, the chemistry between the leads palpable. Just wish they'd get their damn act together.

Will definitely be reading the second book because I am clearly invested in these idiots. Honest rating of 3.7 stars because they did evoke emotions and even though I am not completely sold on them as individuals, again mainly Gabriel, I do believe they have incredible potential.

🔥IF THERE WAS A BOOK THREE, I WOULDN'T BE WRITING MY REVIEW YET, I'D BE READING IT!!!🔥
I feel like I want...no I need to write this one review for both Books 1&2, because you can neither read just Book 1, nor can you read just Book 2...Neither of these are standalone books...Just order them both at the same time, because I guarantee after you read Book 1, you'll not just WANT to read Book 2, you'll NEED to read Book 2!!! 🔥🔥
I have just recently "discovered" Jennifer Domenico, and as many books as I read, I have no clue how she slipped under my radar, but she's now one of my favorite authors. She does her research to write the characters and language true to life, and I fell in love with both Gabriel and Mia....🔥🔥
As much as I love all-alpha males, (Gabriel is a true experienced DOM), they usually fall in love with a less than alpha female...but Mia is just as strong as Gabriel...In fact, in my opinion, at the end of Book 1, it turns out, Mia may be the stronger of the two...🔥🔥
I don't want to tell you anymore about these books, because you deserve to go in blind and read it with no preconceived notions from other people's opinions...just like mine. Let me say this: From the time Gabriel and Mia meet, I could hardly hold my kindle, the heat between them was combustible, and it wasn't just me who knew it....they felt it too...and that heat NEVER ends!!!🔥🔥
Jennifer Domenico knows how to write a love story...either one that is a slow gradual burn like Londyn Falls or a hot as fire from beginning until the end like Reckless Devotion....I don't know what the next book I read will be, but I'm not worried about whether or not I'll love it....she's gained a HUGE fan...And, seriously, wear gloves while holding your e-reader!!!!! 🔥🔥

Reckless devotion
Mia and Gabriel are both strong minded characters who know what they want and generally get it. Neither of them stay in relationships for long, it either bores them or expectations of their time and the future becomes too claustrophobic. So how do these two end up going out with each other and basically can't get enough of each other.
Reckless Devotion is a well written story that swings the point of view between Mia and Gabriel without confusion. It's a battle of wills romance. As a person very protective of my independence and voice, I have to admit to initially being disappointed in Mia, who repeatedly claims to like being in charge, but ends up submitting to Gabriel's demands. I am not going to give the ending away, but I had calmed down by the end of the book and I was back to cheering Mia on. I am looking forward to reading the next instalment... should one come along.

Reckless Devotion Book 1 was the first book I've read by Jennifer Domenico, but it already has me hooked. I loved Gabriel and Mia, two strong, independent souls who meet and feel that instant awareness of something beyond lust. They are extremely attracted to each other and decide to cautiously go on a second date. Through a series of meetings, they explore their relationship, but Mia is no submissive, but she is clearly skittish about moving things the way Gabriel wants them to. Gabriel finds that Mia is everything he's ever wanted, and he wants to pursue more with her. I felt like this book was one long foreplay session, so exquisitely done and so angsty and emotional. I loved it hotly intense, sweet, and even romantic. I can't wait for Book 2. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Gabriel and Mia

After reading the book, I understand bdsm a little better. I understand that it is a life style and that you need a like minded partner. My heart broke for Gabriel and Mia and sincerely hope they find a way to be together. The book is well written. I do believe it will not be everyone's choice of reading material, but in the same breath, I could relate to the characters.

Holy Hotness, Batman

This is my first read by this author and it did not disappoint. Gabriel and Mia are two people looking for something more. But they each have a different idea of what that is. He’s dominant and she’s no submissive. Will they be able to compromise? Will they be able to each push their own set of boundaries? Can’t wait for book 2 in this sexy, seductive duet.

Don't go into this book without being ready to read book 2 immediately! At first, Gabriel came off as a bit odd and I wasn't sure what to make of him. But I quickly learned how seductive his actions were. It's not your typical foreplay, but it was HOT!

If you like BDSM, this is a must read! I'm already well into book 2.

Excellent book!

If your looking for a dominating alpha, Gabriel is your man! This book ticks off the boxes for an erotic romance with a bit of angst. Mia tried to delve in the lifestyle but has an issue with turning over herself to him. Can’t wait to read the next part of their story!

What did I just read? Reckless Devotion is unlike anything I have read in a long time. Jennifer Domencio pulls you in from the beginning and is relentless in her story telling. I am a huge fan and
Reckless Devotion proves that her writing only gets better.

Mia is introduced to her best friend's older brother who has returned to the States from Paris. She is independent, beautiful and doesn’t want the white picket fence. She loves her life and enjoys the company of men if they realize that she will let them go when she gets bored.

Sebastian is back in Arizona after living overseas. He’s very protective of his little sister and now of the new woman who has peaked his interests. There is something about Mia that has Sebastian wanting to dominate her even though he can see that she is not use to being controlled. He wants to show her the pleasure he can bring her until she breaks.

Mia and Sebastian are the same as far as how they view dating. Mia fights Sebastian at every turn and Sebastian is relentless in his pursuit. They both leave each other wanting more all while knowing they should walk away.

Reckless Devotion is more than just a book about a dominate trying to show a woman what a submissive could be. Submission isn’t what this book is about. There were certain issues that didn’t sit well with me but I understand the subjects are necessary to define the lifestyle. Sometimes we can't help but want the life we never knew we needed.

I am hooked, a fan, and can’t wait for more. This book is Reckless!

4.5 stars. Wow. Smashing! Reckless! Fierce! This book is hot! The chemistry between Gabriel and Mia is wicked crazy! I love their banter with each other over the phone. Mia is such a spit fire and I think that is exactly what he needs. They push each other completely out of their comfort zones!
There are some scenes in this story that made me blush! Sexy!!!! Dom/sub stories are not my go to one clicks, but this book should be for everyone. The title is perfect. Jen creates a fiercely heartbreaking and reckless couple who really are devoted to each other.

Mia’s friend Sara thinks that she and her brother Gabriel would be a perfect match as he has just returned to the US after being transferred from Paris for work. Gabriel has a type A personality and Mia is fiery and independent and neither are looking for a relationship or commitment. From their first meeting their chemistry is electric and they have a connection deeper than sex. The only problem is that Gabriel requires complete control and Mia struggles to give up control. Is there a middle ground for these two? I loved the characters of Mia and Gabriel and once I started reading I was unable to put it down however it did end on a cliffhanger and now I anxiously await to learn more about their journey. Wow...wow...omg!
What hot ride...The characters are so strong and well scripted. The story line just flows perfectly. I felt every emotion within this first book.
The chemistry between Gabriel and Mia was hot and this was a very steamy read.
What I liked about the characters is they were falling hard for each other but they didn't drop everything and confess their love for one other. They both hold back pieces of themselves for now.
Gabriel and Mia, who is more stubborn? Who will give up first?
I can't wait to find out on book 2.

What happens when you have two independent people but one is a Dom? You get this book!
Gabriel is a Dom who craves and needs the control. However, he has found a girl that is opposite of submissive. He has moments where you want to smack him. Near the end, I started to love him. Then you leave me hanging....Noooo!
Mia is independent and no where near submissive. For Gabriel, she tries. She's not some shy little virgin but she does allow Gabriel to push her in new ways.
This is a combination you don't see often. A Dom being with someone that is not part of the lifestyle/culture. It's a story that you don't want to miss.
This is a cliffhanger and can't wait to read the conclusion.

This is the first book of a very heated relationship between two extremely strong people, Mia and Gabriel. But at the end it definitely lets you know "it is not over yet". From the very beginning the author pulls you right into the middle of these strong people as they attempt to navigate the beginning of a relationship/couple. But Gabriel's desire for dominance and noncommitment definitely makes it hard for him to get a grip on his heart. Mia has no desire to be commitment or in a personal relationship. She has no need for a man to come into her life to manage any part of it and so her mind and heart begin its own fight. Yet they both totally lack the experience of how to maintain a TRUE relationship, which the authors words presents this struggle like a very heated dance. Once Mia and Gabriel's story begins just make sure you have no plans, you will need to finish it to the end. Soon enough their stories will continue, which will give you the opportunity to enjoy Mia and Gabriel's turbulence again.Well worthy of a reread.

Holy hotness!!!!!What an amazing story, the chemistry between the characters was intense. You can feel it as your reading - which are signs of a good author. We find Mia who is a take charge, in control of everything, independent woman! No where near how a sub should behave. Gabriel - is a 100% ALPHA, dominant, male! Can they make it work? Their relationship shouldn't work - but can it work in the bedroom???? I couldn't put this book down, some scenes literally burned a whole in my reader SO HOT! Great book. Can't wait for more from this author.

Mia’s date with Gabriel is nothing like she expected (or me either). Mia is a strong willed woman who is used to calling the shots, but Gabriel is not going to let that happen ever. He is used to calling all of the shots ALWAYS. Definitely a different kind of hero in this one. I was ambivalent about this book with the way Gabriel acted sometimes, but by the end I couldn’t wait to see what would happen, but this book is a cliff hanger.

Well the one word that comes to mind is HOT!!!! The chemistry was instant and knowing his past you know the ride is going to be wild. A Dom falling for a strong headed non submissive is going to be dangerous for them both. Watch her learn about being submissive and him learning how to shut off his Alpha side. Once you begin you won't be able to stop turning pages until the end. Be ready for the end to leave you hanging until the next one. Great job Jennifer....

New author to me and well I am a fan now!!! holy can this author tell a story. Her writing is top notch and she just dragged me into this story and left me wanting so much more.

Gabriel is ALPHA through and through even to the point of being arrogant. Mia is independent and brings so much to the story line that Gabriel is not use to but is definitely intrigued by.

The chemistry is on fire and the sex is just WOW WOW WOW. The push and pull between these 2 characters just makes your heart flutter!!! I could not put this book down from the very first page to the end. I was able to read this book in one sitting because I needed more of Gabriel and Mia.

If you are looking for a hot read with excellent characters and writing then this is the book for you!! I can hardly wait for the next one!!

First thing I want to say is that this is a cliff hanger, but hopefully the next one won't be too far off. But I know I prefer to know going into a book. Second thing is this book is hot! I will admit that I didn't like Gabriel when I first started the book, but by the end I was singing a different tune. Mia is so independent and you think there is no way these two will work. But somehow so far it does, not that it is easy. We'll have to wait and see what the next book has in store.
