「我很正常，我沒有病。」
女高中生麻由里最近很煩，因為她遇到了跟蹤狂，於是跟身邊的親友商量。
對她有好感的良太決心要守護麻由里，在她周邊埋伏，站崗警戒。
但是跟蹤狂卻變本加厲！麻由里甚至開始接到內容彷彿窺看她生活的信件，結尾還寫著「妳的王子」敬上，把她逼到差點發瘋。

thank you my dear Ho Ching for the recommendation. It was a relatively smooth read for me, the twists and turns were interesting, but it felt expected coming to the end...
(potential spoilers below, ft. my personal summary of the book)
This story talks about a family who's mother is afraid of the daughter diluting the fathers love - so she starts to talk, to act, and finally, believe she is her own daughter. The father seems like a lunatic as well for not being able to tell that that's his wife, and even playing the role of a doctor and talk to himself. There is also a character, portraying a stalker1 who is madly in love with the mother, and believing that everything she does is out of love for him.
Apparently, the real 'Mayouri' shows only at the later half of the story, saying that her mom has been faking her identity all along. She demonstrates the hatred she has towards her parents, whom are supposed to love their child. Mayouri collaborates with the stalker to kill her dad. But in the end, she seems to go cuckoo not being able to tell herself from her own mother...

我一直分心去想舞台劇，
啊啊啊這一幕該如何表現，
啊啊啊這一幕不好演出吧，
但我其實壓根沒有看過一場舞台劇，
像是「愛的成人式」一樣，你們根本就把精力全放在反轉上面，
劇末反轉一次不夠，那就沒一小節都反轉一次，
但這又不是遊樂場裡的旋轉咖啡杯，
我並不是那麼愛你們成天在那形式主義得轉個不停，
故事的中心思想才是重點吧～～～～
話說回來這本我看的時候一直分心在手機上寫人物大綱，
成天在那反轉的人物大綱倒是讓我寫得不亦樂乎的

確かに、4回どんでん返しがある。
けれど1回目から違和感を感じたし、どういう部類のどんでん返しなのかわかれば、2−4の「びっくり」は訪れない。（1回目だって「あぁやっぱり」という感じ）
それと、「4段目」つまり小説の終わらせ方も、興味深いし「四段式狂気」の題名に相応しい「狂気」っぷりではあったけど、なんだか消化不良。
「！」の時と同じく、2000年代初頭のホラー小説と同じ読後感（「リアル鬼ごっこ」とか？ちょっと記憶が曖昧）
嫌いではないんだけどな。
