Something Borrowed is the second book in the Lone Star Match series, and I believe it is safe to say I enjoyed it even more than I enjoyed Something Old. It was a great second book in the series, and I cannot wait to see what Something New gives us.

Although Something Borrowed is an different love story to Something Old, I believe it is best to read book one before diving into this one. You’re given more than enough to understand the overall story, yet some of the information is more detailed in

3.5 Stars!

Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder didn't completely knock my socks off, but it's engaging and I am always excited to read a new romance.

This is the love story between Brigid Anderson, a dedicated attorney working her butt off in order to make partner, and Grady Coughlin, a general contractor that successfully expanded his business to include his passion for historic preservation. Brigid and Grady have known each other for years and are in a "sex only" relationship. Brigid's best friend

Brigid can be considerate, "...we’re both adults and the bed is big enough. Besides you don’t have anything I haven’t seen or touched before.” He stood, wearing only his boxers, his erection tenting the material in front of him..." Brigid sometimes has to clarify things to Grady, “I said I didn’t pack any sexy nighties. I never said anything about bras or matching panties.” I really liked this book, Grady had so much patience when it came to Brigid. ...more

With The Lone Star Match Series, Ms. Ryder continues to flex her creative muscle with affectionate stories of realism that prove to be less dramatic but still all heart. Something Borrowed delivers some sweet advice as it delights and excites. With engaging situations, appealing bursts of humor and fetching characters, Ms. Ryder shows that she is quite adept at stealing the show.

Wow what an emotional ride. Brigid and Grady both have a lot of baggage to work through. What started as friends with benefits so long ago may be more. I loved seeing the week from another couples' perspective. A great addition to the series. Full of history, family, pressure, self realization, passion, and love. Can't wait for book three! ...more

Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder is the story of the relationship between lawyer Brigid & subcontractor Grady. Grady's parents were divorced when he was younger. His mother wanted a better life than a blue collared, worry about money one. She found someone that could give her that life, packed up her older son Matthew & left. Grady has felt an intense anger towards her ever since. Now he's in love with Brigid & his baggage is telling him he's in another relationship where he isn't good enough . ...more

One week where college roommates, old friends and family will reunite. The week leading up to Caroline and Matthew’s wedding was supposed to be a celebration, a vacation, a bit of time to reconnect, rebuild the friendships and relationships that time had damaged. It was meant to be a healing time, but as we all know sometimes in order to heal you have to clean out the wound – and that can be extremely painful.

Grady and Brigid are the main couple in this story of live

So I am going to admit here that I wasn't sure if I wanted to read this book or not when I heard that Brigid and Grady's book was going to be the next book in this series. I was Not a fan of Brigid's in the first book, soooo........... I guess you can understand why I might have been a little weary going into this book.

For me Brigid was a very hard character to like. As I just mentioned above I wasn't a fan of her in the first book and that didn't change much in this book. I found her to be a

A phenomenal second installment of the Lone Star Match series! I enjoyed Ms. Ryder's other works, but she has really hit her stride with this series. This installment focuses on bridesmaid Brigid and best man Grady, and they are a terrific match. As a lawyer on her way to partner, Brigid tends to be all work and no play. Grady owns his own construction business and is certainly a hard worker in his own right, but he has more of a "live in the moment" mentality and really embraces life. The two t ...more

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I was not sure how I was going to like reading about the same week before Matthew and Caroline's wedding but with a different couple. While there was a few references to the previous couple, mostly this book focused on Brigid and Grady so I ended up enjoying this book!

Brigid and Grady had a great chemistry and I loved Grady, and was glad when Brigid finally realized what she needed to do in her life! There were a few times that I felt like shaking h

Second in Megan Ryder's Lone Star Match series, Something Borrowed is the story of work-driven lawyer Brigid Anderson and Grady Coughlin. These two have had a friends with benefits relationship for four years, but Grady wants more. The story works well as a stand-alone or as part of the series.
This story is on the steamy side, as you might expect from a friends with benefits relationship, though Megan Ryder also does a good job of delving into the impact of a workaholic mindset on health, happin

The Lone Star Match Series is turning into quite the seriously fun series. Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder has bridesmaid, Brigid Anderson at a crossroads in her life. I thought her choice was easy but given her family background I guess I could her difficulty. Grady, on the other hand, is hardworking, someone she loves to be with and loves her just as she is. While I am not a big fan of friends-with-benefits stories, I really wanted Brigid to follow her heart straight into Grady’s arms.

I truly enjoyed Something Borrowed by Megan Ryder, book two in The Lone Star Match series. This story is about second year lawyer Brigid Anderson and contractor Grady Coughlin. An emotional roller coaster of a story that I couldn’t put down.

I was so excited to read this book after getting to see what was happening on the surface for Brigid and Grady and in Something borrowed we get to delve into everything. Brigid thinks she and Grady are different however they actually have more in common than she knows ie they are both career driven, care about each other and their friends also Grady knows what Brigid needs even if she doesn't. The week spent together on the island is not only to catch up with everyone while b

Brigid's main goal is to do anything in order to make partner. Grady's father became ill so he took over his father's contracting business. This is a great book. It flows the lives of friends the week before a wedding. This book can be read as a standalone, but each of the 3 books follows 3 different couples during the same week. So if you read all 3 books you get a different perspective of the same week. I think this book shows sometimes we are so busy trying to have the life we think we want, that we miss out on seeing the life we really want. Brigid is on the fast track to becoming a partner, what her father has always pushed her ...more

I loved this installment of the A Lone Star Match Romance series. This one sees matchmaker bride Caroline fine tuning her skills with her brother-in-law to be Grady with Brigid. In this case, Brigid and Brady have been friends with benefits for a while but he is ready to make her a lasting part of his life. She loves the relationship as it is and Grady does not seem to fit into her lawyer on the rise life even though he is perfect in so many other ways. You can actually feel the conflict both Gr ...more

Brigid is a lawyer on a fast tract to a promotion to partner. Grady is a self made man who re-built his father's construction company from the depths of death.

I felt that Brigid was to self absorbed for my liking. I just couldn't get to where I liked her. She had some great qualities but she seemed more worried about her work and where it would take her instead of her friends and family. As to where Grady was all about his family. He lived life for the moment instead of the future.

I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

The first book was so wonderful, I didn't know if I would like this one or not. Brigid sure had her moments BUT I completely understood her position. She was trying to please everyone (well her father) but her and especially Grady. Oh how I LOVE Grady. I loved him in the first book and his willingness to please. I wasn't sure how he fitted in the group with the first book but this one explained it all.

Another emotional read from Megan Ryder. What do you do when the friends with benefits relationship you are in suddenly makes you want more? This is the question both Brigid and Grady must face while in the company of old friends reuniting for a wedding. This is book 2 in the series, but it really happens at the same time as book 1 so can be read as a standalone. Brigid is uptight and very career oriented, which is different from so many books so I love the change. Grady is a contractor and owns his own business. Problem is, he isn't in the plans her dad set for her.

At times Brigid comes across a little unlikeable and I wish we had seem Grady try to move on. I mean, I love seeing Brigid jealous but Grady only had eyes for her and was bound and
