Lies That Bind by Diana Rodriguez Wallach is the second book in the young adult Anastasia Phoenix trilogy. The series is a bit like taking James Bond and turning him into a teenage female who is navigating a world of spies, lies and alibis. The books are best read in order as the story picked up right where it had left off in Proof of Lies.

In the first book we met Anastasia Phoenix who had always felt on the outs wherever she’d been since her scientists parents had moved the family all around th

The 2nd book of Anastasia Phoenix was adventurous, agonizing, subversive, dramatic and once again i love it!!!!
From London to Boston, from Paris to London and from London to Rio De Janeiro Anastasia with her sister and her friends tried to breaking down the organisation that hurts so many lives.

The revelations are shocking and the confidence is doubtful between Anastacia and the people who trust.

Lies that bind is the second book in the Anastasia Phoenix series. It is a continuous story, however, I haven't read the first book and this one made perfect sense. It has catch-up info and the story is easy to follow.

Department D is the enemy. The organisation is the root of all Anastasia's problems. Her love interest Marcus wants her help finding his brother, Antonio. Department D is back in the visual.

Antonio worked for department D but didn't know what was going on. Antonio wants to join M

Anastasia is back. She desperately wants to get out of the "spy business" but THEY JUST WON'T LET HER. With her crew and a couple of additions, we get another action packed, teen spy novel that's highly entertaining.

Look, I'm just a fan of YA and when you add in a spy story, I'm just a happy camper. You don't need to read book one to read this one, but I suggest you do to see how the characters grow (a bit). That being said, this was basically a regurgitation of the first book. And I mean that i

This is one of my new favorite series, that's for sure! I was totally captivated by the first book with the action, suspence, mystery and the dynamics of the fascinating characters! When reading this story, I felt more of a connection to the characters. Which was amazing that I could become so invested in these awesome characters. I loved the story and was totally engulfed in the story and ready for more! The only concern I had with the story was that it was a little slow in some areas but that' ...more

I was lucky enough to have a copy of this to read straight after finishing the first book in this enthralling series, ‘Proof of Lies‘ – I’m so glad because I really wanted to know what happened next and I certainly wasn’t disappointed by this sequel! This is definitely a series where I suggest you read the stories in sequence, though the author does a great job of filling in some of the back information to make it easy for new to the series readers to follow what is happening. Diana keeps the suspense and action going in Lies That Bind, her second book in the Anastasia Phoenix series. It does help to read the first book to get a better idea of what is going on, but Diana does a nice job of summarizing what everyone has already been through without taking away from the story.

Anastasia is now in London with her friends when they come upon Marcus' brother, Antonio, who they had been searching for. Now that everyone realizes they need to take down Department D

There weren’t really any gripes that I had with this book, but there also wasn’t anything that led this book to stand out for me.

This book picks up right from where the first book left off and it follows Anastasia as she is trying to find out where her parents really are which takes her on a romp around the world.

I’m still not the biggest fan of the relationship because it is soooo instalovey and not realistic at all, but it works and I think Anastasia and Marcus worked well together

NOTE: I received an ARC copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. This in no way influences my opinion.

Lies that Bind is the sequel to Proof of Lies in the Anastasia Phoenix series. I read the first book a while back and really enjoyed it, so I was ecstatic when the publisher reached out and offered to send an ARC of this book ass well. However, for me, this book suffered from second book blues and I ultimately ended up DNFing it.

This book starts off where the previous on leave

Two years ago I read PROOF OF LIES and absolutely loved it, it is one of my favorite undercover mystery adventure type books I've read.

'Lies That Bind' is the exciting second installment in a young adult mystery/thriller series that fans of the genre are sure to love. The story continues to follow our main character, Anastasia, a teen who thought she knew the people she loved and trusted turned out to be nothing but lies - and dangerous ones. In this book, Anastasia realizes that she can never really move on with her life until Department D is destroyed for good - and it's up to her to do it. I thought the plot was fas

Lies that Bind is the second book in the Anastasia Phoenix series, I thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of the first book Proof of Lies so I was most eager to start on this.

This is a series that really should be read in order to fully understand the events that have already taken place, enough of a recap is given but it may still be quite confusing.

After trekking all over the place in the first book in search of Anastasia’s

"Lies That Bind" is a great sequel in the Anastasia Phoenix series. While the first book had a lot of character building plus a big pace slow-down in the middle, this one has a smooth pace that keeps you easily reading throughout the book. Although the story isn't complete, this sequel didn't feel like an in-between book, but rather, told its own story. Here, Anastasia is staying in London with her crew- including her romantic interest Marcus. Determined to take down Department D, they embark on ...more

This time, they look for help from other kids from Department D, hoping to find proof that they can use to bring them down.  Everyone is back including Marcus' brother, Antonio, whom Anastasia has trouble trusting.  It gets to the point where she has trouble trusting most of her group.  Espec

LIES THAT BIND dives right back in where we left off at the end of book 1, PROOF OF LIES. Anastasia and crew are in London regrouping and formatting a plan to take down Department D! It seems book one was set in place to lay the groundwork for the globetrotting MC and her cohorts! And even though everything from her past seems to be a lie, Anastasia is holding it together. After reading Proof of Lies and enjoying it, I was looking forward to Lies that Bind. Although this one ups the stakes, I didn’t find this one as engaging as the first. I had absolutely loved the dynamics between the characters but they just wasn’t the same in this installment. However, the action was just as entertaining. Plus I enjoyed getting to find out more about Department D and the work it had done.

“Lies that Bind” picks up where book 1 left off with the Anastasia and the gang all together and ready to uncover the truth behind her parents apparent death and her sister’s kidnapping and once it starts it doesn’t stop leaving us with a cliffhanger for what’s sure to be a great showdown.

This series always reminded me of a sort of “The Blacklist” but for a more younger crowd and while I enjoyed this book on a surface level and in connection to the first, it didn’t have anything to it that made

In an Oyster Shell – A riveting addition to the Anastasia Phoenix series. I am looking forward to the next book.

The Pearls – I love this concept of spy kids cleaning up the messes of their corrupt parents. It will pull at your emotions it’s a little sad at times but very interesting. The premise is good and well executed.

Lies That Bind was the second book in the Anastasia Phoenix trilogy,  and I enjoyed it as much as the first book, Proof of Lies.

Lies That Bind followed Anastasia as she worked towards uncovering the truth about her parents and Department D. It was full of suspense,  suspicion and a tad of romance.

I love the characters, especially Markus and Charlotte, and the storyline was, as always, fast paced and just my type.

This is the one I was waiting for since I had read the first one. This is also a fun and intriguing series to read. Anastasia is main one that takes you on the adventure that continues. This one is a kinda no holds barred in adventure with many things that spiral on. Murder is not shy in this either. Even though termed a youth book it still can captivate any age. From start to finish this one does it good.
