Interesting ride

Love this series
SPOILERS: read at your own risk!
I've been a long time huge fan of the V Plague series. I love the John/Rachel/Dog dynamic. I'm so incredibly glad that they didn't actually die- or stay that way. While I'm well aware that zombies aren't real, so all is not grounded in reality. But I loathe the integration of the "36" world into this one, aside from Agent Behring (love that guy). It's just so... off course from the first several novels. The writing remains stellar, and the story is continually entertaining. Suffice to say, I'm SO happy that there will be no further integration of these two worlds.
The ONE thing I'm super pumped about is the return of one of my fav characters. It makes me anxious for the next book. Also- I need Igor and Irina to be back with Rachel and John. I miss the group! My heart breaks for the loss of Nitro- I hope that somehow when Behring came back to help the last time, time changed his fate. There are also a couple other secondary characters I want to hear from, too.

I am not real sure why Mr. Patton does not think highly of the US Navy in this series. Every single Navy SEAL introduced gets killed, the entire fleet was battered and beat up by a seriously inferior Russian Navy that used cold war relics such as the Akula class submarine to wreak havoc upon such mighty ships as Arleigh Burke destroyers. There is no way the US navy would perform this badly in battle, and the decisive battle between the unnamed Russian boomer and the North Carolina, arguably the finest, quietest fast attack submarine ever to the sail the seas, stretches the imagination to the bursting point. I suppose for the sake of this fictitious storyline, someone had to take the fall, but portraying Navy SEALs as bumbling idiots who can't stay alive and Navy ships that can't stay afloat is just mind boggling to me. It is most assuredly agreed that the US Navy would obliterate the Russian Navy in any full-scale war, and despite the vision V Plague paints of mighty Delta Force warriors who look like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, and can do no wrong, US Navy SEALs are not bumbling idiots. 3 stars for ridiculous, unrealistic portrayments.

Hooray
This is another excellent book in the series if you have not read the first book I suggest you go back and start at the beginning it's the only way you're going to understand it and you will realize that this is why this series is so great. I gave this a five star rating because of the fast-paced action the character development and the fact that John is still grieving over his wife. This shows that he is not a Superman but just the man. I was angry because of his change of character but then I realized how would I feel if the events in the book happened to me so I became more excepting of his behavior. But most of all I am so glad that DP bought a character back was missing from the book and in my opinion is a better character than Rachel or Katie yippee yay thanks for bringing that character back into the storyline no spoilers who it is I suggest you read The series from the beginning again as I said earlier because you will enjoy it and just think by the time you finish and catch up the next book should be out so you'll be up to date.

I absolutely love love love this series and author. I really liked the series 36 a lot too, including those characters. However, I wish they would have stayed separate. Also, Rachel is too quiet - it's like she is either crazy annoying or has no personality. She basically became a 'whatever you want John' person in this book, instead of the potential bad-ass sharpshooting doctor she could be.
But what really grated on me for this book is the fact that our hero, Mr John Chase himself, got his friends (and basically all that's left of bad-ass operators) killed because his head is getting too big to listen to the friggin leader of what's left of the US, a man he should and seemed to trust, and he does not seem to feel even an ounce of remorse. Not a smidgeon!!!
That being said, I can NOT wait for the next book!

Another smashing success.
And now another long wait for the next book.
I have read a lot of series over the years, but this one is the best.
And I don't mind at all the meshing with project Athena. I think it was genius.
For those that complain about time travel being unrealistic, but read Zombie and PA books... what can I say. Get a mirror and you'll see where the problem lies.
Last I checked, this was not a documentary. In fact, I have a surprise for you all: most of the Iliad is probably bunk, as is the Odyssey. Star Wars too. The are no space fighters either and they should not make a sound when they shoot at each other.
My guess is that 15 books of Major Chase going shopping, shaving his head, taking a crap and talking to his wife would have been pretty boring.
My only hope is that the series 36 will continue.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the others. I am disappointed that some of the plot twists have been "undone" even though I also cried when Dog died. It just seems like cheating to me. (Sorta like Dallas when Pam woke up and the whole previous season was just a dream.) I stopped watching that tv show! I will not, however, stop reading these novels. I think the writing is devoid of the flowery prose and nuances that some writers use to enhance the story. That is why these books read more like fact than fabrication. I like that. After all we are talking dystopian fiction here. We need to believe these events are real and become invested in the characters for the sake of being immersed in the story. Mr Patton, I am a fan!

I found this book a little confusing until the "time travel" was explained. I thought my Kindle download had been corrupted as some chapters were repeated with slight variations. I also found the pace slower than normal, I did not find that the storyline progressed that much and found the ending a let down. I hate it when a favourite character is killed off, but glad to see some were brought back to life.
The author must have stopped smoking recently, as there seems to be a huge focus on John smoking his cigarettes.
Can't say that I am a fan of the introduction of the time travel plot into the zombie plot, but will have to see where it leads.

As I've said in countless reviews, I love this author! With the 'V Plague' series and his new books, '36' and 'The Void', he has now taken TWO series and has started weaving them together in this amazing book!
He doesn't do summaries of "previously on" like we're used to in TV, but if you've read the first fourteen books of the 'V Plague' series you MUST check out '36' and 'The Void' before starting this fifteenth book. It's unbelievably outstanding!
With characters that are so real and situations that seem impossible, this story keeps BOTH series going with total awesomeness. Incredibly well done!

Warning spoiler alert!! I feel like pulling my hair out right now! Talk about cliffhangers. Dirk, you are the master of cliffhangers. I hope you don't kill John off! That would be a mistake. But you left him in a very dire situation, so I'm dubious at best. I hope you have book 16 coming out very soon. On pins and needles here😱

Bravo
This isn't so much as a review as it is a letter to the author. You've done an amazing job with this series! I'm wholly invested in this world you've created. I have to say the time travel really threw me through a loop! I love sci-fi so adding this bit of a twist was the cherry on the top of the freaking sundae! Although, it does make me wonder if John's wife makes a reappearance? That would be one messed up love triangle!! I'm waiting impatiently for the next book! ;)

I don't know if my heart and brain can take this. There is so much to take in with the time travel and you broke my heart in fourteen and find,fixed it in fifteen. I am so glad Martinez is back, I really liked her. PEOPLE!, you need to read this series! If there were suddenly six more books out, I seriously would already have them bought. I still think there may be a menage st trois in the future, only the time machine knows! Hurry up sixteen!

WOW! What A Ride.....
I've been reading this series since the beginning. I found Voodoo Plague "Book 1" on Book Bub...it was Free. Needless to say I was hooked from the first chapter. I read every book until I was caught up. Then I patiently waited for each new release, and hoping that it would never end. What an amazing series. I've even bought every book and gave the series to friends for Christmas. They all love this story too. I can't wait until Plague 16!

Another great one
After reading several (17) books written by Mr. Patton, I have come to the conclusion that he is one of my favorite authors. This book was every bit as good as the previous books in the series. I don't know how he does it but even after 15 books I am still not bored with the characters and events in the V Plague series. As always this one was full of action and well written.

Waiting with abated breath for the next chapter. Only negative for this book is I finished it way too quickly. Absolutely love the whole series
As always I enjoyed following the characters in this new adventure. Dog is definitely my favourite ..I feel like I now all the characters and can't wait for the next instalment ..

Fractured read
I started the v plague books because they were non-stop action.
The story now has change from action to a slower pace. it makes it a little slower to follow the story line, but i am totally vested in the story. I really like mr. Payton's writing and look forward (with some impatience) to the next installment.

I love this series
I wasn't expecting the ending to be quite like this. For not having the edge of your seat swarm of zombies conflicts, it was a great read. I did read the other 2 books, 36 and The Void, which helped with understanding the story line. I can't wait for the next book.

Absolutely Amazing
I was so stunned by the ending of the previous book but I am so happy they didn’t really die bc that would mean the end of the series and I can’t handle that!! I really like the time travel, even though my brain can’t comprehend it, lol. I can’t wait for the next book!!!! Absolutely worth the time and money!!!!!

Realm of Possibility
Kinda confusing going backwards, then forward, then forward again. Can't believe Martinez is back, that's like having at least one minority woman that brings her A-game to the fight. Didn't like it when Dog died, but he's not really dead....at least not yet! I hope Dog, Rachel and John finally get some rest in Australia, and the right is over.

I loved the time travel aspect and the way it can change everything and I'm sad that it won't continue to be a part of the series I love agent Bering and I didn't even read 36 yet but I love John chase and can Read about him forever please never stop!!!!

Intense!
Another intense action packed series. I am always waiting patiently for the next one to be released. I hope Dirk keeps up the great work and keeps us guessing what is going to happen next!

Excellent action packed fulfilled ride. Dirk Patton is truly a gifted writer. His characters are great and the storyline keeps you guessing which way he is going to go, I recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a faced paced read.

Best series I've ever read
And I've read a lot, never read a 15 book series in 2 weeks though. Really excited about book 16. Great writing, characters and seriously heart pounding action. Highly recommend.

Dirk Patton keeps delivering. I have enjoyed every book in this series. Compelling, can’t put them down. The diversion to read “36” and “Void” was well timed and made me like them even better. Satisfying on every level and left me wanting more! Thanks for the ride.

Enjoying the series
I am really enjoying the series, although it’s jumped the shark to a degree. The author could have wrapped up the series earlier, but chose to extend it with a sci-fi plot element I could have done without.
